Name the 3 NFL Teams you hate the most

for me:

1 - Dallas Cowboys
2- Oakland Raiders
3 (tie) - Saint Louis Rams & Miami Dolphins

SlapBone 11-28-2003 03:30 AM

1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Dallas Cowboys
3. The team from Dallas

Vince 11-28-2003 03:36 AM

I like this new guy already :)

Yeah...what he said.

SlapBone 11-28-2003 03:46 AM

Between 1996 and 2002 my favorite team was whoever was playing Dallas. Now we have a team again.

Are the Texans the best team in the league...No, but they are not Dallas.

The bonus was that the Texans first franchise regular season game was versus Dallas and we schmacked them.

Oh... and in my FOF league I moved them to Arkansas where they belong. Simulations are a gift from God.

Darkiller, why didn't you just name your thread "Name the 4 NFL Teams you hate the most"... :D

Anyhow, I've only got 1 dating back to the Marino days, the Miami Dolphins

Vince 11-28-2003 04:01 AM

As a serious answer to the question...

1) Dallas Cowboys
2) Green Bay Packers
3) St. Louis Rams

These are followed closely by the Giants and Redskins. I could really just do without the whole NFC East.

Darkiller 11-28-2003 04:10 AM

I don't hate any NFL team. I feel too far removed from the NFL to have such strong emotions about a team, let alone three. I can dislike certain players, such as Bill Romanowski, but never hate them. I know I love the sport, though.

Arizona before they moved out the NFC East ?

;)

TroyF 11-28-2003 05:05 AM

1) Oakland Raiders

There is no second or third. I hate the Raiders because of Al Davis, not really the Bronco rivalry. (though that doesn't hurt either)

I hate players more than I hate teams. In all sports.

I used to hate the Cowboys, but not so much anymore. I like Roy Williams. I like Parcels. No one on that team really offends me anymore.

Darkiller 11-28-2003 05:22 AM

it's this whole self-proclaimed "America's Team" concept which is pathetic and deserves my hatred :-)

I, for one, don't hate players as individuals...for instance, I definitely respected Aikman and Smith for the cowboys although I hated them as a team in our huge NFC rivalry of the early '90s. Same for the Rams, I like and respect Warner and Faulk and Holt a lot...but them "The Rams" yakk.
Even in Oakland, I don't think Gannon, the Woodson (Rod & Charles) and bad guys...they just happen to play for those son of .....

Anyway, you got the message : it's really the team concept, the franchise history of something that I really dislike.

I actually have a fondness for the Cardinals, one, they were never much a threat, heh. And 2 they were the 3rd NFL team I ever saw and i fell in love with the colors, funny what sticks in a 7 year olds mind.

I was trying to figure out what order I wanted my list to be in and I just couldn't shake the glee i get everytime we beat them and the rot gut i get everytime we lose. Giants games have been, for the most part tightly contested and it's a great rivalry but with the Cowboys it's either were really good and theyre bad or vice versa and the stompings are either fun or miserable.

Bad-example 11-28-2003 07:07 AM

1. Washington Foreskins
2. Dallas Cowboys
3. St. Louis Rams

Dishonorable Mention: Oakland Raiders

ice4277 11-28-2003 08:37 AM

1. Tampon Bay
2. Minnesota Viqueens
3. Green Bay (nice to beat them yesterday :D)

Honorable Mention goes to the Baltimore Ravens; the Ray Lews Factor.

1. Denver Broncos - I absolutely detest them post-Elway.
2. Miami Dolphins - I'm a jets fan, and I'd be happy going 2-14 each year by sweeping them.
3. Washington Redskins - all Snyder on this one.

honorable mention:
Oakland Raiders. Again as a Jets fan I have to hate them...but I get a depraved laugh out of Al Davis, the thug nature of the team, and them signing every nut and castoff in the league.... It's charming in it's own way.

3. Denver Broncos

Bears edge out Vikes for #1 because they actually have won championships before. Although the Vikes almst took back the honor when i was considering this because they play in a dome like a bunch of sissies!!

A couple of comments on this list so far. Odd that i haven't seen anyone who hates a team because they moved away from thier city.....especially Colts and Titans/Oilers. And someone sad they hate the Bengals? How do you hate them? Feel pity for them, yes. Think thier owner is a nimrod, yes. But hate?

There are now more/bigger bathrooms at Lambeau now, so i'm sure this has been cut down ATLEAST 15-18%. :D

I still love that story!! Announcers should repeat it every game when Davenport gets his first carry of the game.

1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Tampa Bay Bucs

Bears
Vikings
Packers

judicial clerk 11-28-2003 03:40 PM

in no particular order:

49ers; everyone else in my family is a 'Niner lover. My uncle even has season tickets (got to see Niners beat the 86? Bears in the NFC Championship game and lose to the Cowboys in an NFC championship game game waqs close until the end and Copwboys sealed it with a 60 yard pass to Alvin Harper), I do respect them though;

Denver Broncos; I know that the Rat sits around all offseason just gameplanning on how to beat the Raiders, also got sick of Elway

Pats; I am still a little bitter about the snow game. Brady just twisted the knife in the post game interviews with his smug, joking answers to questions.

Honorable mention

Pittsburg; used to be the team I hate the most (that wasn't a legal catch Franco) but my hate seems to have faded;

Washington; I do not consider myself very PC, but I find the name "Redskins" objectionable. I think it is very insulting and they should change it. I don't mind other native american related teams, just the Redskins.

Interesting, I would have thought that Kansas City would have made my list, but here I am and they are not on it.

See? I had to repeat it again, makes me laugh every time!

Tasan 11-28-2003 04:26 PM

1. 49ers
2. The last team that beat the Cowboys (boy the last couple of years have been hateful)
3. Eagles, mainly for their pitiful excuse for fans that attend the game

The_herd 11-28-2003 07:49 PM

1. Dallas; Man, I hate Jerry Jones. I hate this team so bad that I had to get DirectTV now that I live in Texas and the only games they show on Sunday are Dallas and Houston.

2. Oakland; See above, insert Al Davis in place of Jerry Jones.Would have easily been number 1 a couple years ago, but I lived in Northern Cali for a while and I never felt the need to get DirectTV to avoid Raiders games, so they fall to number 2 on the list.

3. Tampa Bay; Too much drama and trash talk for a mediocre football team. I have enjoyed watching their Defense drop to average this season.

Can I get an AMEN!

I hate Shanahan with a passion. In fact, with Elway gone, if Shanahan finally took his carcass elsewhere I might actually return to ambivalence about the Broncos.

Shanahan is one of the most overrated coaches in NFL history, IMO. His sideline and motivational work is fine, but I really feel that he rode the accomplishments of his star players and that he has generally been a horrible handler of players and judge of talent in his offseason moves. I'll admit he seems to have one-upped me on Plummer, though.

The second reason i hate him is simple. I am a fantasy fan. I play fantasy football. Every year, the Broncos find a way to screw with their star players. And when Shanahan has a controversy at RB or QB (whether due to injury or performance), he keeps it all underneath his hat until minutes before the game starts. That bastard. :)

MY LIONS FAILED TO BE MENTIONED! GLORIOUS!

Now as far as teams I hate..

St. Louis: WHAT HAVE THEY DONE SINCE THEIR SUPERBOWL WIN? THEY ARE OVERRATED. I HATE MIKE MARTZ.

Giants: Another team that's vastly overrated and is going to go through a Lions-esque phase soon.

Steelers: I detest Maddux and Heinz Ward.

The_herd 11-28-2003 09:50 PM

The Lions would have been #4 on my list because of what Barry Sanders did to the Bears every time they played.

Green Bay, because anything associated with Wisconsin must inherently suck.

The New York Giants, because they pay Jeremy Shockey's salary.

The Atlanta Falcons for somehow, improbably beating the greatest football team ever, the 98 Vikings, in the NFC Championship and negating what was to be a titanic clash for the ages with the equally impressive Broncos.

2. Dallas Cowboys (they had been #1 until the last few years. they come close now that the band-wagon jumpers are back on the call-in stations with their 'Cowboys will win the Super Bowl' predictions-- the best was one I heard on the way home today telling the hosts how no team can score on the Cowboys defense... uh, watch any football yesterday?)

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (the most over-rated windbag coach in the game, or close to Fassell in that regard)

DeToxRox 11-28-2003 11:15 PM

I knew the Superbowl vs the pats would be brought up, but they went in overrated and they left losers.

And since then it's been nothing but lackluster.

Say what you will about them this year but in the AFC they're not a playoff team.

I'm from Chicago and a Bears fan, so the Packers should be number one ... but in recent years I've found myself cheering against Rams much more intensely because they have come the closest to making it seem cool to play in a dome. No -champion- of this sport should be built to play indoors ... I hate that. At least when I watch the Packers play at home, I can pretend that I still love the NFL the way I used to.

Redskins are on the list because, well, I live in DC and ... let's just say I miss Chicago's sports culture a bit.
