Don't You Hate It When...

... you have big news and yet you can't share it with anybody?

JAG 03-04-2004 08:16 PM

How big?

k0ruptr 03-04-2004 08:16 PM

don't tease us cam.

AgPete 03-04-2004 08:17 PM

Don't you hate it when someone has really big news but they won't share it with you but don't mind teasing you. :p

The Afoci 03-04-2004 08:17 PM

Cam, not until we leave San Fran. I am still unsure if we should...

Fritz 03-04-2004 08:18 PM

Cam was able to push the erection envelope to 3:59 - I minute shy of a trip to the doctor.

CamEdwards 03-04-2004 08:28 PM

I'll be able to share soon enough. It is a big deal, at least to me. It has nothing to do with my ability to get it up, get married, or anything of that nature (although in a few months the wife and I are going to try for another child... or at least that's what she tells me when I beg for sex now. "Just wait until June...").

Waiting is no fun. Let's just speculate now...

How about 20 questions just to make it sporting?

CamEdwards 03-04-2004 08:39 PM

sure.

do I have to be honest in the answers I give?

Buccaneer 03-04-2004 08:41 PM

Let me think really hard on this....new gig in No. Virginia?

JAG 03-04-2004 08:41 PM

No no, we're supposed to ask YOU the questions.

Of course, these pretty much span the width of all things Oklahoma.

Fritz 03-04-2004 09:03 PM

with a little inside information I feel I can say there will be no more bald jokes directed at cam.

WussGawd 03-04-2004 09:20 PM

Cam, you're not about to get a beaver or other rodent planted on your head are you? :D

KWhit 03-04-2004 09:35 PM

I once had a beaver planted on my head.

Good times...

Different kind of beaver, I think.

sachmo71 03-04-2004 10:29 PM

Does it have to do with your job?

sachmo71 03-04-2004 10:30 PM

Dola,

Will you still be able to bring the kids down here this summer so we can take our families to the zoo?

Craptacular 03-04-2004 10:50 PM

He's going to be the "public" Dick Cheney.

Are you still going to be able to come down this summer to watch the Sox play and let me finally meet you and Sach?

Sorry. It's a rather obscure reference to a bad toupee.

As in, will somebody tell Sam Donaldson to get that ridiculous beaver off his head?

WSUCougar 03-05-2004 11:12 AM

Nice beaver!

(Alright, what movie?)

gstelmack 03-05-2004 11:24 AM

Now I can't remember the title. It was the Airplane-style comedy with Emilio Estevez spoofing all the cop movies. This was in the "Basic Instinct Sharon Stone interrogation" spoof scene.

Buzzbee 03-05-2004 11:32 AM

Naked Gun - Leslie Neilsen to Priscilla Pressley as she is coming down the ladder.

CamEdwards 03-05-2004 11:47 AM

"thanks, I just had it stuffed."

In answer to the questions about will I be able to go to the zoo, Red Sox games, etc... the answer (sadly) is no.

I am moving to the Washington D.C. area. I can't say what my new job will be yet, but it's a considerable move upward.

I'm very excited, although it's going to suck being without my family for two and a half months (they're staying here until the kids get out of school).

samifan24 03-05-2004 11:50 AM

That is great news, Cam! I can't say it's all good because that has to be rough on your family, but off to bigger and better things, eh? Hey, you can still catch the Sox when they visit Baltimore!

You're getting a job on Al Franken's radio network, aren't you?

JAG 03-05-2004 11:54 AM

Maybe I'll be able to listen to Cam on the way to work. Unless his new job is in management...

Anyway, good memory digamma.

I remember when our Cam was just doing sports talk in the mornings. Now, all of the sudden he's a big right-wing radio guy on the up and up. Congrats on the career move. Don't forget us Oklahomans (I haven't despite being 800 miles away at college).

Buzzbee 03-05-2004 12:01 PM

Nah, he's doing Trivia nights at the Herndon Hooters.

[announcer voice]
For ten points. This question for ten points.
And the question is...what famous baseball player is known as the Great Bambino?

Franklinnoble 03-05-2004 12:06 PM

If you've got a new gig in northern Virginia, I might be joining you there soon.

sachmo71 03-05-2004 12:10 PM

hoory for the Edwardzeses!

GrantDawg 03-05-2004 12:20 PM

Franklinnoble 03-05-2004 12:27 PM

He's taking over the afternoon time slot on WJFK and will be replacing the Don and Mike show in syndication.

now that would be fun.

As to the speculation... sorry, no one's got it yet. I'll be able to say more soon.

Franklinnoble, what towns are you looking at in NoVa? I think we're going to live in either Springfield or Fairfax.

Actually, we're probably going to steer clear of the rich white suburban subdivisions and try to find someplace a little more rural where we can have a few acres and horses and such. We're thinking south-southwest of Manassas, but nothing's really set yet. I need a job offer I can live with first before I really start shopping for real estate.

Kam 03-05-2004 02:25 PM

Cam is going to replace Tony Kornheiser.

Once they realize Cam is a midwesterner, however, Cam will find himself holding signs for a Used CD store while standing along 355, until he gets fired from that job (for not holding the giant CD right side up) and then the beloved Cam will be standing at a Beltway exit holding bunches of flowers, running up to car windows and hoping some guy forgot his anniversary and is desperate.

You'll be growing a mustache and doing TV interviews as G. Gordon Liddy?

mckerney 03-05-2004 02:34 PM

Official radio voice of the Washington Redskins, beloved by fans until Snyder can's your ass after 6 games?

SirFozzie 03-05-2004 02:37 PM

Got a national deal?

WSUCougar 03-05-2004 02:42 PM

Cam's going to be the new CJ Cregg on "The West Wing."

Those places are in West Virginia.

Dear God I hope you are not planning on commuting to DC from there.

I like the replacing Tony Kornheiser theory.

Actually, my guess is something on WTOP.

sooner333 03-05-2004 03:33 PM

Something as an advisor or spokesperson for Tom Cole.

GrantDawg 03-05-2004 03:33 PM

PR office of the Redskins?

The Afoci 03-05-2004 03:35 PM

Waxed your chest, stuck it to your head.

Buzzbee 03-05-2004 03:37 PM

Hmmm. He said it was a big upgrade. Moving to Northern VA. He is currently an Oklahoma City radio talk show host. He bears a slight resemblance to Babe Ruth (much younger looking and of course better looking).

I've got it. A lobbyist for the National Association of Broadcasters!!!

CamEdwards 03-06-2004 11:05 AM

y'all crack me up.

Franklinnoble,

As my wife and I were looking at the real estate, it seemed that Fredericksburg seemed to be much more affordable and rural than Fairfax County. Of course it's also a 60-90 minute commute.

I don't necessarily mind the white bread suburbs as long as there's a city close by. Having lived in Oklahoma City, which is basically a bunch of suburbs surrounded by rural areas, I think I'm ready to be closer to an urban environment.

Your guess is as good as mine... until I have a solid job offer I like, I'm not even seriously talking to real estate agents. I have family down in Lynchburg that is familiar with the area, but that's about it. I grew up in suburban Maryland, but I left 13 years ago.

The commute times don't bother me... I do nearly 2 hours each way now.

Subby 03-07-2004 08:07 AM

If you want beautiful land on the cheap, West Virginia is definitely the way to go in this area. A lot of folks who live out there commute into DC on the MARC train...

Crapshoot 03-07-2004 04:50 PM

The downside with West Virginia being of course, that it is West Virginia. Good luck with whatever it is Cam!
