Victor Zambrano sucks
I mean really sucks...
I want Kazmir back. |
no pics plz k thx
|
I was just about to go the the MLB thread and post the same thing. I have a pure hatred for this guy.
|
Another 2 run bomb to Jones. Why can't this guy just tear an arm ligament and call it a season already, or a career.
|
Between him and Jorge Julio, I will have pulled out all my hair by the end of May.
|
Wow, poor babies, you have 1 bad reliever and 1 bad starting pitcher. 99% of the league envies you.
|
we are met fans! we only know how to complain!
those mother f^&*($in braves!!!! |
Quote:
At least 1 of each. Trachsel isnt great, Bannister looks ok, but we'll see when he makes his 2nd loop around the league and the bullpen, well I just don't trust Duaner Sanchez or Darren Oliver or Pedro Feliciano. |
Well, I trust Duaner so far... aside from that, I agree with that post.
|
If Zambrano could only pitch against the last 4 Braves hitters he'd have a perfect game.
|

I have a sick feeling that that trade will be considered similar to the Red Sox dealing Jeff Bagwell for Larry Anderson when all is said and done :(. |
Quote:
Yes it will. While Kazmir is off competing for Cy Young awards, we will be watching Zambrano, well hopefully on the DL, but if not, then watching him give up many more bombs to Andruw Jones. |
Sanchez is going to be a rock-solid reliever for you guys, but yeah, you'd have been better off keeping Seo and dumping Zambrano.
|
Quote:
Disagree. Larry Anderson was actually good at the time and helped the Sox for a bit. |
whos Kazmir?
|
Whiny Mut fans...OMG......is there anything worse?
|
Quote:
Whiney Red soxs fans, whiney Cubs fans |
Shit, everyone knows the Mets will pay 20 million a season for Kazmir when he hits FA just to save face.
|
Whiny Yankee fans?
SI |
Quote:
Another head scratcher! Why let Seo go?! Maybe because it would have looked back to dump Zambrano, basically admitting the Mets let Kazmir go for nothing. |
Quote:
One of these "can't miss" prospects the Mets gave away to Tampa Bay. He's supposed to be a stud, in his early career I would say he's looked pretty good, one thing is for sure, he won't/can't be worse than Zambrano. |
Last year went 10-9 with a 3.77 ERA (114 ERA+) in basically his first full year.
|
Quote:
Ive learned 1 lesson from playing sports managment games, never ever trade away young studs. especialy when your desperate. |
Too bad Jim Duquette (i think he was the GM at the time) didn't learn this. Worst part is the Mets are still paying for this mistake every time Zambrano takes the mound.
|
I drafted Heilman in my fantasy league expecting him to be the 5th starter. Looks like he is blowing that opportunity by being a rock solid middle reliever. Any chance of him getting some starts?
|
Quote:
Not if Bannister keeps pitching well. |
Quote:
Are you forgetting about Zambrano? Randolph is not going to be so thick headed to let him continue to pitch if he continues sucking it up. |
Quote:
I agree, it was a great song... ![]() |
Go Hudson!
|
So, I'm guessing the wheels have fallen off the Met bandwagon?
|
They are 10-4... you expect them to win everything?
|
Quote:
Yeah, the wheels fell off 5 miles back. |
Love it, love it, love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Round 2
First inning home run on an 0-2 pitch. |
Christ he sucks.
|
Gotta love letting the pitcher get on with 2 outs and then subsequently loading the bases and giving up a homer to the team with the least amount of homers in the major. Bite the bullet Omar. Peterson can't fix him. Sign Kazmir as a free agent in 5 years.
Go Mets....and take Zambrano with you. |
Quote:
The argument is always "the Mets keep him in the rotation because otherwise, they would have nothing to show for the Kazmir trade." Here's my stance: If we didn't have to see him blow every start, we wouldn't be reminded of how much he sucks, and how little we got for Kazmir. Out of sight, out of mind...we'll move on. It's hard to move on when you have zero confidence in your starter every 5 days. |
At some point you just have drop your losses and let them go. Put Heilman in the rotation instead. Maybe Zambrano can hang out in the bullpen (but rarely used) if they don't want to get rid of him entirely.
|
He's gotta go, thats all there is to it. The last place I would want is to see him is in the bullpen. At least in the rotation he can suck for 4 innings, giving us 5 to get back in the game. Put him in the pen, it goes without saying that he will blow it, leaving us with on 2 or 3 innings to get the lead back.
|
Maybe a package trade of Zambrano, Julio and Jose Valentin (another waste of a roster spot)? There's got to be another complete loser Peterson can "save."
|
They traded 2 pitchers who are so much better than Zambrano in the offseason, one who they got nothing back for, and now I have to watch this piece of crap every 5 days?
|
It's official!! Victor Zambrano now has ERA worse than Jorge Julio.
|
Quote:
Just like today. We're back to down 5-4 in the 6th. |
1 inning down... only two runners reached.
|
Dont care what happened tonight, he still sucks.
|
Please pay homage to Chan Ho Park when starting any "pitcher sucks" threads.
|
Dola,
Zambrano vs Park tonight, neither pitcher allowed a run. Padres win in extra innings 1-0. |
And somewhere in Hell, Satan turns up the thermostat a few degrees to ward off the creeping chill.
|
Quote:
Factually correct, but it was Carlos Zambrano. And Park not allowing a run against that Cub lineup shouldn't necessarily be looked at as a success, maybe just 'expected'. |
Quote:
My bad, wrong Zambrano, but Chan Ho was on. |
Zambrano has a 1-2-3 first inning culminating with a strikeout of Larry 'Chipper' Jones. Has hell frozen over?
|
WTF did Zambrano just do?
|
Even when he's on, he still manages to scew the Mets. After a 14-inning marathon Victor takes himself out after retiring the first four, the last 2 on so's.
|
This is hilarious, Zambrano just fucks you over every way possible. I think he just thought it was 3rd out and say "fuck it, might as well keep going".
I never thought the day would come when I am hoping he isn't hurt too bad. With Bannister and Maine both out and Lima on his way up, this has bad news written all over it. |
what a tool.
|
And the team totally got fucked. They put Maine on the DL knowing he couldn't pitch Sunday and that Bannister would be back before his next turn in the rotationand they could use the spot for another reliever for today's game. Now with him on the DL, if Lima pitches poorly they have no one to replace him. Assuming Zambrano goes DL, they are screwed in the next five games unless it becomes Lima time at Shea tomoroow.
|
ARGHHH! Fucking Zambrano!
Put Heilman in the rotation, Willie! |
Quote:
No, no, and no. |
Willie Randolph can NOT manage. He is awful. The worst I have ever seen. Totally clueless.
|
The game is 6-5 in the 9th... where is Wagner?
|
WOOOOOT!!
METS WIN! |
Jorge got lucky.
|
Willie after the game...
"Zambrano just didn't look right to me." Must have been the 3 strikeouts and retiring all the batters he faced. |
Quote:
Thats hilarious. Wagner went 2 innings last night I think, thats why he wasn't in there. |
Victor Zambrano is OUT for the year. Not only has he made trading Kazmir a complete waste, he has also ended this thread before it got really started. Can't wait for 2007. Thanks for all of it Victor.

Done and done. Well, season anyway. Tommy John surgery in his future. /tk |
Dola,
Well, this article on ESPN says it's just a tendon injury but still out for the season, but I heard them say on SC this morning that it was ligament damage and he needed TJ surgery. Either way, sounds like he's done for the season, wonder what the injury really is... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/s...=ESPNHeadlines /tk |
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2436519
ESPN.com news services Victor Zambrano's season was effectively ended on Saturday after he tore his flexor tendon in his right elbow after leaving the Mets' 6-5 win over the Braves. Zambrano struck out Andruw Jones to record the first out of the second inning and then sprinted off the mound straight through the dugout and into the clubhouse. "He's out for the year," agent Peter Greenberg told the New York Daily News, after an MRI revealed the news Saturday. "He's down, obviously. He's been pitching with some pain for a while. Now he knows what it is. The doctor told him the ligament is in good shape, which is good news." Team officials did not elaborate on Zambrano's condition and planned to announce the diagnosis on Sunday along with roster changes. Greenberg said Zambrano will speak with the doctor to schedule surgery and might seek a second opinion. "He was crying," fellow Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez was reported as saying. "His elbow just blew up like a balloon. You could see it from far away." Two pitches before striking out Jones, manager Willie Randolph had visited the mound with trainer Ray Ramirez after seeing Zambrano shaking his right arm. "I wanted to make sure," Randolph said, the Daily News reported. "I looked him in the eye three times and told him I didn't want him to take a chance. He told me he was all right." Martinez said Zambrano's right elbow has been hurting since the start of the season though Zambrano did not let team officials know of his discomfort. General Manager Omar Minaya and the Mets' pitching coach, Rick Peterson, said Zambrano never discussed the pain with them. "It's up to the player to reveal that information to the medical staff," The New York Times reported Minaya as saying. Zambrano's injury is the latest of the Mets' pitching woes. With starters John Maine, Zambrano and Brian Bannister down the Mets must reshuffle their starting pitching lineup. José Lima was recalled from Norfolk to start against the Braves today. How much is this injury is the fault of the player and how much is it the fault of the staff? The portion that I highlighted tends to give me two trains of thought. I agree with Minaya when he says that the player has to tell the medical staff he is hurting. But on the other hand, I think that the coaching staff has to notice that something was not right with him and have him checked out. I am not concerned with hammering one side or the other. Injuries happen. It just seems that since baseball tends to be extra protective of pitchers (which may be partly to blame as well), it surprises me that he could have significant pain throughout the season, suffer this injury and the staff not be aware of the pain. |
Remind me not to play badly for any team JS19 roots for. Once he puts the hex on ya......;)
|
Well... can we now say that Zambrano has been more of a waste than Chan Ho-Park? After all, at least Park gives you innings!
|
Good riddance.
|
Man, this trade looked real questionable at the time, and the subsequent performances of Kazmir and Zambrano are just proving that it wasn't just questionable (from the Mets point of view) but downright idiotic.

Kazmir allowed four hits and matched a career-high with 11 strikeouts in eight innings, helping the Devil Rays beat Dontrelle Willis and the punchless Marlins 3-0 for the young left-hander's fifth straight win.
At 22, Kazmir is the youngest major league pitcher to win seven games this early in a season since Fernando Valenzuela in 1981. Terrible, just terrible. |
Well, he wasn't offered a contract, so hopefully this means the end of Victor Zambrano as a NY Met for good.
|
Victor's currently making his debut for the Blue Jays in a 10-2 rout by the Tigers and promptly walks a batter, gives up a triple and walks another.
|
And now it's 10-9 in the 8th as the Jays storm back.
Back to back extra inning games to start the season for Tor/Det? |
This thread is much more tolerable -- no, enjoyable -- when Zambrano is sucking for another team.
|
Victor Zambrano has been spotted signing a minor league deal with the New York Yankees.
|
who is victor zambrano?
i only know of carlos zambrano of the cubbies. lol |
