Werewolf XXVII: Solecismic Asylum (GAME OVER - MANIACS WIN)
 

Just getting a signup sheet started.

Start date is pending on what happens with Schmidty's game.

This will be a standard villagers vs. wolves game with a few twists that I am excited to see how they play out.



The day has passed and night has fallen over the asylum. Patient #219, John Douglas is sitting on his bed in his cell. He is surrounded by four concrete walls and a single window to look out of. There is a single dim light hanging from the ceiling about 12 feet above his head. The sound of dripping water night after night has slowly driven him crazy. The “hospital” staff doesn’t seem to care though as they tell him they hear nothing.

In the middle of the night, someone bangs on the metal door to his room and he quickly awakens. This is not a normal occurrence as many of you come to find out. He starts to have a horrible flashback once he hears the Doctor’s voice outside his room. John starts to remember being tied in a straight jacket. He can remember being thrown into the back of a black automobile. He starts to remember the scent of the burnt rubber as the car sped off away from his house and family.

Suddenly the door opens and Dr. Widger is no where to be seen. He slowly walks towards the opening of his cell. As John works his way towards the entrance he tries to listen for the faintest of sounds.

Drip, drip, drip.

The next morning you wake up and are given your meds. You past right by the empty cell that once belonged to Patient #219. You have been told that he has been transferred.

In the deepest recesses of your minds you know this is not true, but the medication does not allow you to think straight. Some of you have been told that you have wild imaginations and that is why you are here. Some of you claim to see things that are not there and that is why you are here. Some of you feel things that are not really happening and that is why you are here.

Or are they???? Is it your imagination or is it real?

How long do we expect this one to last?

This should be a more traditional game where somebody dies pretty much every day and night.

I will tenatively sign up (depending on when things begin).

Official start date will be May 15th. Roles will be given out on Sunday night.

Interesting concept. I'm not sure what my timetable is going to be like this week and next, so I'm going to have to sit on the sidelines for now. But if I clear up my schedule before you guys start, I might jump in.

I would but I will be without internet access at night since we move from our house to live in a motel for three weeks.

Even if I wasn't retired from WW, the movers are moving us on the 15th and 16th. I doubt I would have the time that first week as there will be plenty of unpacking to do. However, we do already have internet all set up in the new home.

My schedule may be limited but I've sat out for a while, i'll be in.

I think I will sit this one out. I start a new job on the 15th and we are also going to have company for part of the week, so I'm not sure how available I will be, especially at nights.

Game roles to be handed out tomorrow night. I really would like to get as close to 20 as possible or else I'll have to standardize my rule set. I really want to spice the game up a bit, but with only 12 players it is unlikely that I will be able to.

Last grasp try would be PMng WW players not in this one that havent said they cant(people like Alan T, sndvls, vince)...last resort, but after the length of the last game some people are prob. a little burned out.

About 10 hrs. away before I hand out roles.......

Well at least I have 10 more hours of sanity.

It has been 3 days since patient #219 disappeared and it is once again night fall. This time one of the patients, kingfc22, sees a person in a white jump suit enter the unopened cell of patient #125. He hears screams of terror and quickly races over to see what is happening. He peers in and he can not believe what he sees. It is Dr. Widger and another patient performing “tests” on patient #125. There is a large amount of blood on the ground and it does not look like patient #125 is alive. Kingfc22 knows that he can not say anything or he will likely meet the same fate.



As he is returning to his cell he accidentally trips and falls. Dr. Widger heard the grunt that was made when kingfc22 hit the ground and he quickly ordered his helper to “silence” kingfc22.

The next morning you awake from your slumber and notice that kingfc22 and patient #125 have been transferred. What are you going to do about it?


VICTORY CONDITIONS
Maniacs must obtain a 1:1 ratio with the patients.
Patients must rid the asylum of all homicidal maniacs.

Just popping in from the San francisco Airport. Wish I could play, but still on the road a bunch the next few weeks. Looks like a fun one though. Go maniacs! err..... :)

Only 14 players makes this comfortably the smallest game I've ever played. How many wolves/maniacs are there usually out there in this size game? 3?

I've played in a few games this size elsewhere and there's usually been two with an auxillary bad guy. I think three full evils would make it pretty tough unless we had some really good specials on our side.

Is that like the "cultist" role used in I forget which game? A good guy who wins if the bad guys win?

OUT OF CHARACTER: Isn't giving the patient number a no-no since it's part of the message in the beginning?

I'm okay with that. I just don't want people to describe their role word for word.

Yeah, pretty much. Basically a role where the player wins if the bad guys win, but they don't know each others identities. Could also be like a reverse seer role that tries to hunt down the good seer......

Patient checking in, and on day one taking a stab with mckerney doesnt seem like too bad of an idea. I dont want to give away my patient number until i know for sure that others cant decipher it, and i think all my fellow patients should follow my lead on this point

I would really like an explination from mckerney. Usually on day one people are almost apologetic about their vote. Mckerney came out with guns blazing which seems very strange to me.

I make of it what i can...we all must look inside ourselves and seek truth. My realization comes in the fact i may be the right person to lynch today, due to the fact i am currently hindered. As for those two tormented souls, besides the fact they deserve your pity, your guess is as good as mine if they are homicidal.

It is odd, but it does seem to happen about once every three games or so. Barkeep in the last game had a similiar hunch that was correct, and I seem to recall it working at least once before.
