NFL Week 10 Discussion

Double checked, but I don't see any thread for this week, yet.

McNabb to Stallworth for an 84 yard TD! Of course, the Redskin's pass defense has been bad, but it is still nice to see the offense starting to connect on deep passes again.

Greyroofoo 11-12-2006 12:47 PM

Cleveland is looking pretty good against Atlanta so far

Greyroofoo 11-12-2006 12:51 PM

Cleveland up 14-0 over Atlanta, amazing what they can do when their weapons are healthy.

henry296 11-12-2006 12:52 PM

No Ray Lewis and Tennessee is up 19-7 on the Ravens. Travis Henry has had 2 big runs.

Huckleberry 11-12-2006 12:52 PM

Did Bo Scaife really have a 13 yard run for a TD in that game? That's what CBS SportsLine's gamecast says. How did that happen?

Clarified that for you ;)

Huckleberry 11-12-2006 12:53 PM

Nevermind. Right as I post that their game log explains the play.

Icy 11-12-2006 12:54 PM

Miami is playing great today vs the Chiefs, specially the defense.

Icy 11-12-2006 12:58 PM

WOWOW incredible play by Miami!!!

QB Harrington handoff to RB Brown, RB Brown runs, then stops, then pass back again to Harrington who throws a 46 pass to Chambers who caughts it at the Chiefs 1 yard line!

Eaglesfan27 11-12-2006 12:59 PM

Wow. Luck is good too. Buckhalter catches a pass that Brown bobbled and knocked up into the air. Buckhalter then runs about 50 yards untouched for a TD. 17-0 Eagles. :)

cartman 11-12-2006 01:01 PM

Wow. Tennessee is taking the Ravens out behind the woodshed. It's 26-7 with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Icy 11-12-2006 01:03 PM

Chiefs at Dolphis stats so far:

Scoreboard:
Kansas 0 Dolphins 13

Passing yards:
Chiefs: 2
Dolphins 111

Rushing yards:
Chiefs: 26
Dolphins: 56

Just so you know, Icy, that kind of play is known as a "Flea flicker"... :)

I don't think there is a Spanish translation for that. Maybe 'Tiro de pulga'.

:D

jbmagic 11-12-2006 01:15 PM

Wow the CHARGERS defense is getting smoke so far by the bengals.

21-7 Bengals 1st half

Icy 11-12-2006 01:21 PM

Hehe what amazed me was not the play itself but the execution, specially the 46 yards bomb thrown by Harrington, not that i'm used to see him throwing that way :)

Raiders Army 11-12-2006 01:29 PM

The Eagles' flea flicker didn't work so well in the 1st quarter...but they made up for it with the 84 yd bomb.

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 01:34 PM

HOLY CRAP, Frank Gore has 148 rushing yards at halftime.

Greyroofoo 11-12-2006 01:50 PM

Indy needs to stop making mistakes

Thomkal 11-12-2006 01:53 PM

Man there must be a full moon tonight with as many weird scores and stats so far today.

Rizon 11-12-2006 02:02 PM

Two things:

1) The Lions clearly don't belong in the NFL

2) It's nice to see Palmer and Ocho-Cinco get their groove back on.

jbmagic 11-12-2006 02:07 PM

San Diego is making a comeback.

Bengals 28-21 now

-Mojo Jojo- 11-12-2006 02:10 PM

Greg Jennings is taking a lot of the sting out of losing Javon Walker...

sabotai 11-12-2006 02:11 PM

Should be a fumble by Westbrook and Washington's ball.

Is Chris Francies still on the Packers active roster? If so, is he getting any PT at all? I know he only has that one catch from three weeks ago, but I'm hoping he's at least getting on the field...

sabotai 11-12-2006 02:14 PM

Well the refs screwed that up and gave the Eagles a gift. The ball was clearly coming out before he was touched.

Yes. Very little pt though. Think he is 4 or 5 on the depth chart.

JeeberD 11-12-2006 02:17 PM

Cool, thanks. :)

JeeberD 11-12-2006 02:38 PM

Cotchery with a GREAT catch in double coverage to give the Jets a 11 point lead over the Pats with less than five minutes to go...

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 02:48 PM

Thats 4 TDs by LT

jbmagic 11-12-2006 02:48 PM

Bengals 38-35 over the San Diego so far. with one quarter left

San Diego recover the fumble on Bengals 10 yard line at beginnign of the 4th.

TD San Diego. 42-38 over the Bengals now

At one time San Diego was down 21-0 and 28-7

This SD - Cinci game is insane!

Buccaneer 11-12-2006 02:49 PM

Vick is averaging less than 4 YPA? What's he doing, throwing it backwards?

Agree. 42-38 with 14 minuets left to play is wild. If they keep it up the two teams will get over 1.000yds total today.

sterlingice 11-12-2006 02:53 PM

LT/Palmer winning my Yahoo fantasy football game for me :)

Huh? Those are very good numbers for Vick.

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 02:59 PM

anyone watching the Jets winning over New England?

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:00 PM

typical Brady comeback ? or do they get denied.

De-NIED! :D

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:02 PM

game over.

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 03:02 PM

J.E.T.S. win

DolphinFan1 11-12-2006 03:02 PM

Miami with the upset over KC.

DaddyTorgo 11-12-2006 03:03 PM

whoa. pats suck

TazFTW 11-12-2006 03:03 PM

Vicious hit on TJ.

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 03:03 PM

That was an ugly hit in the CIN-SD game

Scoobz0202 11-12-2006 03:04 PM

That was a sick...sick..hit.. I got goosebumps watching it.

Tigercat 11-12-2006 03:05 PM

Heaven forbid that Fox switch from a Philly blowout to a competitive game with smaller market teams. They sure love to stick with the NFC East.

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 03:11 PM

And the 9ers have back-to-back wins for the first time in god knows how long.

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:14 PM

Mcnair leads baltimore to a comeback. but not over yet.

TazFTW 11-12-2006 03:16 PM

F CBS/NFL rules.

Galaril 11-12-2006 03:16 PM

wow my Titans really suck. I think they should fire their defensive coach.

kingnebwsu 11-12-2006 03:18 PM

Bengals have no defense. Last year their defense in the second half of the season was awful, and it looks like they're starting the second half of this season the same way. 41 points and have a good chance of losing today. That blows if you're Cincy.

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:19 PM

I really hope the browns hang on.

Yep, same here.

Can someone explain how this rule is beneficial to the NFL? I'm baffled as to why they'd want to pull the plug on an exciting game.

sterlingice 11-12-2006 03:21 PM

Haha- I do like CBS. Blatantly trying to get around the rules. "Well, we aren't showing you the entire game. Just every play" ;)

SI

Fonzie 11-12-2006 03:21 PM

I like how CBS is getting around that stupid rule by showing "replays" after every single play. :D

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:23 PM

Plummer gets picked and Raiders drive and score lol. 7-0 Oakland.

Fonzie 11-12-2006 03:23 PM

You know, they didn't begin their coverage by going to nonstop replays of the SD-CIN game - it took 'em a few minutes to start doing that. I wonder if the NFL tipped them off to this workaround?

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:25 PM

so San Diego scores 42 points in the 2nd half. LOL

WOOOHOO Cleveland hangs on.

Amazing.

Cinci will win this in OT 51-48...

Buccaneer 11-12-2006 03:29 PM

Bolts/Bengals game reminds me of those classics Fouts-Anderson games from the early 80s.

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:29 PM

Titans going for the lead.

I've seen them do that before.

TazFTW 11-12-2006 03:30 PM

Tennessee going for the game leading FG.

TazFTW 11-12-2006 03:30 PM

Blocked!

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 03:31 PM

feel bad for the Titans

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:31 PM

ballgame. Vince young didnt look bad, but alas the kick was blocked apparently.

Ah yes. Air Coryell at its best. Who needs defense.

sterlingice 11-12-2006 03:31 PM

Glad someone's watching that game (Bal/Tenn) because I doubt many people are able to give us an update ;)

At least you CBS people get to watch a good game.

Us losers in the Gay Area only get SF and OAK games today due to that extraordinarily lame NFL rule.

well so far he looks like Ryan Leaf, 1/6 with 2 picks.

Rizon 11-12-2006 03:44 PM

Speaking of CBS:

What is with that organ that only plays 2 or 3 notes after almost every replay and also randomly? It's annoying as all hell. Every single week too, so it's not my TV.

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:44 PM

BAH spoke to soon, TD plummer

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 03:47 PM

Looks like the Bengals-Chargers game finished with a total of 1008yds.

Greyroofoo 11-12-2006 03:52 PM

does anyone realize that the Colts have now won almost 30 straight meaningful regular season games?

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 03:52 PM

WOW. thats a lot of offense.

Ok so at the end of 1 quarter, Jake Plummer has as many completions to the Raiders, as he does to his teammates. LOL

Northwood_DK 11-12-2006 03:56 PM

975 total yards is the official number for the CIN-SDO game.

k0ruptr 11-12-2006 04:00 PM

I'm thinking Cutler may be in sooner then later. lol

JeeberD 11-12-2006 04:04 PM

10-0 Cowboys afer a Romo to Crayton pass!

Buccaneer 11-12-2006 04:08 PM

Quote:

Vick, whose helmet had been knocked off by a Browns' player, sat on the field in disbelief while the home crowd booed him lustily.

After playing brilliantly in wins over Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the mercurial Vick has cost the Falcons dearly with sloppy plays the last two weeks. He also had two interceptions and a fumble against Detroit, setting up a couple of touchdowns.

Wow. The home crowd actually booed the Mighty Vick lustily?

Greyroofoo 11-12-2006 04:45 PM

I like the word 'lustily'

Tigercat 11-12-2006 04:45 PM

But for the record, the result was correct. The Redskin player that touched Westbrook was actually the first to touch the ball before the other one recovered (though just slightly) and he was out of bounds which means the play is dead and Eagles keep the ball. :D

JeeberD 11-12-2006 05:00 PM

Romo reminds me of Favre sometimes with the way he just chucks the ball while running and having defenders hanging off of him...

Godzilla Blitz 11-12-2006 05:04 PM

Not only is the Vikings' offense bad, it is painfully boring to watch.

Run up the middle for one yard. Run up the middle for three yards. Outlet pass for two yards. Fourth and four. Punt.

JeeberD 11-12-2006 05:21 PM

51 yard TD pass from Romo to some schlub. 20-3...

Yep. (although it was a sort of lackluster lustily booing)

There was also noticeable, albeit lukewarm, applause for the appearance of Matt Schaub for one play earlier in the game when Vick was briefly shaken up.

(Schaub, incidentally, lobbed one over the head of his intended receiver on that opportunity)
