Anna Nicole Smith dies

Anna Nicole Smith dead POSTED: 3:53 p.m. EST, February 8, 2007 • Anna Nicole Smith collapsed, in hospital • Reports: Smith was found in hotel room unconscious • Former model, reality star involved in controversy Adjust font size: (CNN) -- Reality TV star and former model Anna Nicole Smith was pronounced dead Thursday after being taken to a Florida hospital after being found unconscious in her hotel room, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the case told CNN. Smith, 39, collapsed at a south Florida hotel and was taken to a local hospital, according to news reports. TMZ.com had reported that Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 p.m. ET. According to reports, Smith was found unresponsive in her hotel room. Smith was involved in paternity suit regarding the parentage of her daughter, Danielynn, as well as other disputes, including ones regarding a house she stayed at in the Bahamas around the time she gave birth. Earlier this week, Smith was included in a class-action lawsuit against a company, TrimSpa, for which she has worked as a spokesperson. TrimSpa makes a product it claims leads to substantial weight loss. The lawsuit alleges the marketing of the product, TrimSpa X32, was false or misleading. Smith's son, Daniel Wayne Smith, died at age 20 just days after the birth of Smith's daughter. Pathologist Cyril Wecht said a lethal dose of methadone and antidepressants caused cardiac dysrhythmia, leading to his death. |
Hmm. Not a headline I was expecting to see today.

Wow.

Maybe not a surprise, but still sad. Seems like she had a pretty tragic life.

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the jokes.

RIP and everything...but is it too early to start a "what was the cause" debate?
|
Wow... very surprising.

go to the tmz comments on it. ruthless people. |

It's certainly gone through my mind. Regardless of the cause, it's always a tragedy when someone dies so young. |
A modern day Marylin Monroe right down to the end.
|
Seemed like a nice enough broad. There's plenty of hot, un-educated poor chicks in Amerian who would have had similar problems if thrust into the the kind of sudden fame and notirety that she did.
|
wasn't Marilyn Monroe attractive?

oh fantastic - one more celebrity I WILL NEVER SLEEP WITH :mad::mad:

I'm not sure we can rule out OJ yet. |
I haven't read a single article or speculation on the cause of death, but I have to assume that the birth/paternity suit, son dying, and TrimSpa lawsuit provided plenty of reason to pop some pills or do other things which caused her to collapse. It's not like she was that strong a person to begin with.

There's always Gene Wilder |

We can rule out Dahmer, though. |
Whoever bought those "my son's last moments" photos she was shilling just made a nice profit.
Didn't realize she was that old, 39. Not terribly uncommon to drop dead around then after a life of general hard partying. |
In before the lock

I think it's at least reasonably uncommon. |
First Barbaro, then Anna Nicole... please don't take Linda Cohn or Rebecca Lobo...Please

I'm nominating this as the early favorite for the "Best Breaking Celebrity Death News turned Comedic Gold Thread" of 2007.

The only winners here are going to be the attorneys. And as an attorney without a client in this matter, that makes me sad.

Quote of the year, son. |

Well, considering she was sleeping with at least one attorney already ... hmm ... well crap, there's actual several ways to go with that consideration & most of them lead to some punchline. In all seriousness though, I feel sorry for the recently born baby she had. Already the subject of a nasty custody dispute, depending upon the contents of her will and anything that was in the wills that she inherited from herself in the past, this kid could become anything from the hotly contested meal ticket for at least two guys to a child that nobody actually wants (depending upon what was motivating the two possible dads). |

A reality show perhaps? ![]() gregevigan4life |
Howard K. does resemble Paul Reiser.
|
I was always pretty sure that Greg Evigan's character was the father. I was pissed after the episode where they had the results of the paternity test, but they tore them up without looking at them.
I was so fucking pissed. |
I know she is easy to make fun of, and that she was a total bimbo, but this is still sad to hear. Especially in light of her recent baby.

Speaking of which, someone needs to keep her obit away from those 3 necropheliac loser-looking dudes.

Well, at least she and her husband are together again.

Just so everyone knows, her lawyer's name is Ron Rail. And Chief Tiger announced the death.
|
Well her timing is surprising. Sad story.

RIP Vikki Lynn.
Nice to see the news showing the hotter, thin Anna Nicole. And the first thing I said to Loren when she tokld me was it had to be an O.D. But now with the news on I hear she had been ill and had a private nurse with her at the hotel. Who knows right now though....... |
Seemed to me, that she lived her life, like a bic lighter at a Skynard concert..

Someone's en fuego in this thread. |
I think this is a really sad thing. Regardless of her celebrity status, and peculiarities, she was a human being with feelings, a past, hopes and dreams. It's a damn shame that she had to lose her son before she died. I am quite sure that has a lot to do with her death.
Ok, you can all go back to your pathetic attempts at humor. |
Quote:
I accept full responsibility. :( |

Sounds like a line in an Elton John tribute song... |

Pathetic attempts at humor are a perfectly valid response to stressful situations. It's a coping mechanism. I just think many of the board members are far more deeply affected by this than they even know right now, much less care to admit. |
I guess its true. Human life is no more valuble to God than dandruff on a homeless person's hair.
|
Quote:
Wouldn't this be really funny if FOFC was really an Anna Nicole Smith tribute board in disguise? |
Quote:
Included among her hopes was to marry a 90 year old billionaire, and she dreamed of winning a court battle so his family wouldn't get a penny of his money. You don't know shit about whether or not her son's death led to this. For all we know, she didn't care about him at all. How's that for pathetic? |
Quote:
I'm someone who took more than a moment of reflection at hearing the news. I laughed at her train wreck reality show. (one of the only reality shows I ever watched, because of how ridiculous the damned thing was) I made plenty of jokes about her. And her death saddens me, because of the things you mention up there. She was a person and it's horrible and tragic to see what has happened to her. But I'm not agreeing with the your "pathetic attempts at humor" angle. First off, many of them haven't been pathetic. They've been funny and very well put. Second off, lets not make her out to be Mother Theresa. It's a tragic death, but she was a women who got fame by showing her big boobs, got rich by golddigging her way through a senior citizen, had a kid with five potential fathers and lived the last years of her life relishing in the image she created for herself. The jokes are ok and I'm looking forward to reading more. FWIW: I hope to God my wake doesn't include a bunch of serious people in dark suits giving people nasty looks who try to crack a joke or two. I hope there are plenty of jokes, plenty of funny/pathetic stories told about me and that there is plenty of laughter. Maybe that's just me. . . |

My wife told me about this a short time ago and I said, 'no way'. One cannot dream up a movie script that matches the bizzareness of her life. But know the entertainment world, her sleazy lawyer is probably handing out bids for a tv movie. My wife's prediction was intentional OD, my vote was that she had a hit put on her but we all know that it would be ruled accidental OD regardless what the truth is. She should have died on the Bahamas, that way no one will ever know anything.
|

Actually, seems that some of the speculation tonight is turning toward him as a possible suspect in both her death & the death of her son. |
Quote:
Which was why I said "my vote was that she had a hit put on her". |
Does anyone else feel really young whenever Buc and Jim converse in a thread?
|
I knew I'd get ripped apart for going against the mob, but oh well.
I just don't think mean-spirited humor in a death thread is very classy, but that's just my personal preference. |
Quote:
You're right, I don't know; however, I'm willing to give a person the benefit of the doubt, especially when their corpse isn't even cold yet. Maybe that's pathetic. |
Mean spirited? Barbaro is probably the most loved horse in America since the last horse than won a derby race... or at least Secretariat.

I have a hard time giving a person the benefit of the doubt when I'm willing to bet that one of the primary reasons her son is dead is because of how fucked up his mother was. |

This has the potential to grown into a very big story, between the two questionable deaths, the money at stake, the paternity battle, and all. Her lawyer/husband looks really suspicious with all that has happened and what he could stand to gain.
|
Which, if true, makes it hard to understand why he didn't make sure they had an enforceable marriage. From what I've read, they basically had a ceremony that does not meet the qualifications for a valid marriage. If anything, it sounds more like he was doing whatever he could to muddy up the paternity issue, as opposed to setting her up for a windfall in his favor at a later time.
I don't know; the guy has obviously been milking her for years, but I'm not sure if I see anything more than someone in desperate need of help and a lawyer/friend eager to play that role and enjoy the ride and all the benefits that come with it. |
Okay, now I have to admit that I didn't have this option in the paternity pool.
http://apnews.myway.com//article/200...D8N6CLKG0.html LOS ANGELES (AP) - The husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor said Friday that he had a decade-long affair with Anna Nicole Smith and may be her infant daughter's father. The claim by Prince Frederick von Anhalt comes amid a paternity suit over Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn. The birth certificate lists Dannielynn's father as attorney Howard K. Stern, but former Smith boyfriend Larry Birkhead is waging a legal challenge, saying he is the father. "If you go back from September, she wasn't with one of those guys, she was with me," von Anhalt told The Associated Press in an interview Friday. He said he would file a lawsuit if Dannielynn is turned over to Stern or Birkhead. Von Anhalt, 59, and Gabor, 90, have been married for more than 20 years. Gabor, a onetime sex symbol and star of such 1950s films as "Moulin Rouge" and "Queen of Outer Space," has been in declining health in recent years and suffered a stroke in 2005. She was partially paralyzed in a car crash in 2002. Von Anhalt, who is Gabor's eighth husband, said he and Smith first met in the 1990s when Smith was still married to elderly oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. He said Smith approached him and Gabor at the Plaza Hotel in New York. "She was a very big fan of Zsa Zsa and wanted to be like Zsa Zsa," he said. "She wanted to be a princess." He said the two started an affair soon after, meeting over the years in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. For much of that time, he said, Smith urged him to make her a princess like his wife. But short of divorcing the actress, he said the only solution would have been adopting Smith. Von Anhalt said he did consider that and even filled out adoption papers, but Gabor refused to sign them. |
Whoa whoa whoa, wait a minute...
Quote:
WHAT? He wanted to adopt the chick he's been banging? |
I'm so confused now. I think I'm going to take the FIELD in the paternity pool.
|
The way this is shaping up, there's not going to be many names among the Field.
