This was a big cut and paste job to get the rosters listed out, please check your teams to make sure I did everything right!
So Stephen Curry for Davidson has 19 points at the half vs Maryland in a close game. This could be the best autopick ever.
Radii - http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...yUdXcwSw&gid=0
Just a thought - this is what Logan is doing for Part Deux.. he's given me access so I can help him keep the scores up to date. |
Sweet. Looks like I picked the 20th best Louisville Cardinal, according to the first half stats. Oh well, hopefully Williams can turn it on in the second half and, at least, it looks like he'll get to play a second game.
looks like it was a good thing noone had anyone from Stanford
Quote:
lol. how bas do they look |
12 points from Low so far and it looks like they should advance.
Jarrius Jackson goes out like a bitch, 10 points.
Hibbert and VV each chip in 10 for my cause. Old Dominion fell apart down the stretch, so I've already lost my 10+ seed guy.
Keeping your 10 seed around helps alot
First Round Scores
hoopsguy 15 - Jeff Green, Georgetown 6 - Taurean Green, Florida 14 - Darren Collison, UCLA 24 - Kammron Taylor, Wisconsin 5 - Josh Carter, Texas A&M 8 - Thaddeus Young ,Georgia Tech (eliminated) GoldenEagle 27 - Kevin Durant, Texas 9 - Jeremy Hunt, Memphis 11 - Aaron Gray, Pittsburgh 8 - TaJuan Porter, Oregon 6 - Johnathan Wallace, Georgetown 13 - Caleb Green, Oral Roberts (eliminated) ImTheCrew 25 - Chris Lofton, Tennessee 10 - Julian Wright, Kansas 12 - Wayne Ellington, North Carolina 4 - Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, UCLA 25 - Trey Johnson, Jackson State (eliminated) 30 - Stephen Curry, Davidson (eliminated) Swaggs 21 - Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina 19 - Mario Chalmers, Kansas 14 - Bryce Taylor, Oregon 0 - Terrence Williams, Louisville 20 - Nick Young, Southern Cal 23 - Nate Funk, Creighton (eliminated) lordscarlet 19 - Greg Oden, Ohio State 17 - Joakim Noah, Florida 23 - Sean Singletary, Virginia 22 - Eric Maynor, Virginia Commonwealth 19 - Jared Dudley, Boston College 12 - Darrel Arthur, Kansas ntndeacon 23 - Alando Tucker, Wisconsin 9 - Brandon Rush, Kansas 21 - Corey Brewer, Florida 17 - Nick Fazekas, Nevada 19 - D.J. Abrams, Texas 13 - Ron Lewis, Ohio State 10 - Valdas Vasylius, Old Dominion (eliminated) 23 - Scottie Reynolds, Villanova (eliminated) |
I'm happy with my start, double figures from my 3 guys and all advancing. All three of my guys tomorrow are much more likely to lose than UNC/Maryland, with so few upsets no one is in any trouble yet, I expect that to change tomorrow, no way we make it through the first round without someone getting completely screwed, I just hope it isn't me!
Man, if VCU gets by Pitt or BC knocks off Georgetown, lordscarlet will be tough to beat.
Quote:
That's what I'm hoping for. :) Well. I want Georgetown to win, but it'll rock my Top Gun score if they don't. |
Well, my patented "poisonous touch" affected Russell Carter. 0-6 from 3, wtg guy. Dude was hitting over 40% previously.
28 from JR Reynolds helps offset the Georgia Tech loss, I wasn't expecting that. lordscarlet is having an awesome first round.
Reynolds and Singletary trade off lead scoring a lot. Unfortunately this game was Reynolds's turn, but I'm not going to complain too much about 23. :)
Sweet. I think I'm the only one to not have a player eliminated in the first round.
scores updated, lordscarlet is by far in the best position, and the people with 4 players left are in an early hole, but anything can still happen.
I am little disappointed with my score, but I feel like I still ahve the horses to make a strong run at this.
I'm not looking good for a title defense.
Snuck through that one!
%$#@% Maryland.
$#%#$% Xavier. Damn.
Second Round Scores
hoopsguy 7 - Jeff Green, Georgetown 14 - Taurean Green, Florida 15 - Darren Collison, UCLA 24 - Kammron Taylor, Wisconsin (eliminated) 3 - Josh Carter, Texas A&M GoldenEagle 30 - Kevin Durant, Texas (eliminated) 16 - Jeremy Hunt, Memphis 14 - Aaron Gray, Pittsburgh 14 - TaJuan Porter, Oregon 18 - Johnathan Wallace, Georgetown ImTheCrew 20 - Chris Lofton, Tennessee 21 - Julian Wright, Kansas 5 - Wayne Ellington, North Carolina 7 - Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, UCLA Swaggs 33 - Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina 16 - Mario Chalmers, Kansas 8 - Bryce Taylor, Oregon 17 - Terrence Williams, Louisville (eliminated) 22 - Nick Young, Southern Cal lordscarlet 14 - Greg Oden, Ohio State 9 - Joakim Noah, Florida 19 - Sean Singletary, Virginia (eliminated) 14 - Eric Maynor, Virginia Commonwealth (eliminated) 19 - Jared Dudley, Boston College (eliminated) 5 - Darrel Arthur, Kansas ntndeacon 17 - Alando Tucker, Wisconsin (eliminated) 19 - Brandon Rush, Kansas 17 - Corey Brewer, Florida 20 - Nick Fazekas, Nevada (eliminated) 6 - D.J. Augustin, Texas (eliminated) Lathum 22 - Aaron Brooks, Oregon 16 - Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis 5 - Josh Shipp, UCLA 21 - Derrick Low, Washington State (eliminated) Radii 3 - Brandan Wright, North Carolina 7 - Zabian Dowdell, Virginia Tech (eliminated) 8 - DJ Strawberry, Maryland (eliminated) 26 - JR Reynolds, Virginia (eliminated) 20 - Ty Lawson, North Carolina stevew 10 - Aaron Afflalo, UCLA 26 - Acie Law, Texas A&M 21 - Mike Conley Jr., Ohio State 21 - Jamaal Tatum, Southern Illinois timmynausea 17 - Roy Hibbert, Georgetown 17 - Al Horford, Florida 20 - A.J. brams, Texas (eliminated) 27 - Ron Lewis, Ohio State |
and lordscarlet finally loses his first player, but not before getting 38 points out of Jared Dudley first.
UGH. When I drafted Ty Lawson I posted:
Quote:
The specific player I *almost* drafted but didn't b/c I thought they were just too unlikely to make the sweet 16? Derrick Byars, Vanderbilt, 42 points in the first two rounds and Vandy advances to the sweet 16. Whoops. |
not bad even though i had 2 temps
Quote:
That was the specific reason I drafted Byars in our game :). I didn't think much of Washington State all year, and saw an easy path to the Sweet 16 for a 6 seed. It's nice to finally be right about something. |
I think Aaron Gray put in 16 points today.
14 according to the AP.
Ugh. Two gone today. Although I bought a round with Maynor that no one else got from their 10+.
updated through the end of last night. hoopsguy, goldeneagle and ntndeacon still have a chance to carry 5 players through to the sweet 16, which would be a big edge, even though GE/hoopsguy have big deficits to make up.
hopefully JR Reynolds injury doesn't carry through to the 2nd half. I could really use a 30 point game and a Virginia win :D
Quote:
I just want Virginia to win regardless. :) |
4 into the sweet 16, but unfortunately I can only get 2 guys into the final 4. I really need some specific things to happen if I expect to have any kind of a chance to still win this thing. Basically Florida and some other top seeds need to lose next round, I need Southern Illinois and Texas A&M to get into the final 4.
dola-
Really need Texas to finish losing here, and needed Purdue to beat stinking Florida. |
My guys actually played well in the second round, but I'm down to 3, which makes it a real long shot at best.
UGH
I'm not ready to throw in the towel quite yet, although Round 1 was not exactly inspirational.
updated throguh round 2. Swaggs is in a good position, though he'll lose one for sure next round with UNC playing Southern Cal, lordscarlet has to carry all 3 people through to the elite 8 to keep up most likely.
Oh how the mighty fall :)
wow i droped!
I'm waving the white flag here - lost my third player tonight. I was really hoping to have Carter around for at least five games. If he kept his average, he would have gotten me 20 points by then instead of the 12 I got through three rounds.
I have 2 moving on with Brooks to go, I may have a shot still
Not that I had much of a chance, but SIU and A&M both losing heartbreakers killed whatever slight chance I had. Those 2 moving on would have given me at least 2 players into the final 4. Ah well.
FWIW, I think Tatum is a bit short, but I think he could be a fairly decent pro. Some guy who may never start, but could easily play 7-10 years in a rotation. |
Sweet 16 Scores
hoopsguy 15 - Jeff Green, Georgetown 17 - Taurean Green, Florida 12 - Darren Collison, UCLA 4 - Josh Carter, Texas A&M (eliminated) GoldenEagle 19 - Jeremy Hunt, Memphis 10 - Aaron Gray, Pittsburgh (eliminated) 33 - TaJuan Porter, Oregon 8 - Johnathan Wallace, Georgetown ImTheCrew 24 - Chris Lofton, Tennessee (eliminated) 7 - Julian Wright, Kansas 12 - Wayne Ellington, North Carolina 2 - Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, UCLA Swaggs 5 - Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina 9 - Mario Chalmers, Kansas 6 - Bryce Taylor, Oregon 15 - Nick Young, Southern Cal (eliminated) lordscarlet 9 - Greg Oden, Ohio State 13 - Joakim Noah, Florida 9 - Darrel Arthur, Kansas ntndeacon 12 - Brandon Rush, Kansas 11 - Corey Brewer, Florida Lathum 8 - Aaron Brooks, Oregon 15 - Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis 16 - Josh Shipp, UCLA Radii 21 - Brandan Wright, North Carolina 4 - Ty Lawson, North Carolina stevew 17 - Aaron Afflalo, UCLA 13 - Acie Law, Texas A&M (eliminated) 17 - Mike Conley Jr., Ohio State 19 - Jamaal Tatum, Southern Illinois (eliminated) timmynausea 12 - Roy Hibbert, Georgetown 16 - Al Horford, Florida 25 - Ron Lewis, Ohio State |
25 from Ron Lewis and subpar numbers from the leaders(who can't be unhappy really since htey didn't lose any players) at least makes it more interesting for tonight. If Hibbert and Horford come up big in wins timmynausea could have a chance to repeat still.
Wow. 33 from Porter vaults GoldenEagle into the lead, but this is still a completely wide open contest.
Elite 8 Scores
hoopsguy - Jeff Green, Georgetown - Taurean Green, Florida 14 - Darren Collison, UCLA GoldenEagle 26 - Jeremy Hunt, Memphis (eliminated) - TaJuan Porter, Oregon - Johnathan Wallace, Georgetown ImTheCrew 8 - Julian Wright, Kansas (eliminated) - Wayne Ellington, North Carolina 8 - Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, UCLA Swaggs - Tyler Hansbrough, North Carolina 2 - Mario Chalmers, Kansas (eliminated) - Bryce Taylor, Oregon lordscarlet 17 - Greg Oden, Ohio State - Joakim Noah, Florida 4 - Darrel Arthur, Kansas (eliminated) ntndeacon 18 - Brandon Rush, Kansas (eliminated) - Corey Brewer, Florida Lathum - Aaron Brooks, Oregon 14 - Chris Douglas-Roberts, Memphis (eliminated) 9 - Josh Shipp, UCLA Radii - Brandan Wright, North Carolina - Ty Lawson, North Carolina stevew 24 - Aaron Afflalo, UCLA 19 - Mike Conley Jr., Ohio State timmynausea - Roy Hibbert, Georgetown - Al Horford, Florida 22 - Ron Lewis, Ohio State |
The first game doesn't clear up a ton, its less likely for GE to win now but an Oregon win over Florida would even things back out there, timmynausea and lordscarlet have the biggest edge for now with people actually in the final four.
Gotta have florida lose tomorrow, and OSU play UCLA for the title if I have a chance to win. Slim, but at least I got my guys through to the final 4. Nothing out of 2-3 my guys kills me.
I'm guessing timmynausea is in the pole position heading into next week - 3 players left and a score near the top of the list.
I am guessing points from the third place game count?
Do they even play that any more? Could have sworn they dumped that game a few years back ...
Quote:
Right when I posted this, I thought the same thing. |
Looks like I'm out. I had a good time--thanks for running this, Radii.
For a moment of personal gloating, since I don't have anywhere else to post this, I got 8 of 8 in the E8 and 4 of 4 in the F4 in my ESPN bracket. :) |
Very nice run, Swaggs.
So, who do you have the rest of the way? For my "bracket brag" - as far as I can tell on the FOFC bracket contest, if Florida beats Ohio State then I'll pull off the repeat. |
Quote:
I have Georgetown over Florida, 74-69. I'm in third place right now, so basically, if Ohio State wins, the guy in first wins. If Florida wins over Georgetown, the guy in second wins. If Georgetown wins over Florida, I'm in. Haven't checked out all of the contigencies. |
I am going to need Wallace to go off in the final two Georgetown games to have a shot at winning it.
?
I'm working on updating the scoring. I would gather that Radii is probably knee deep in work.

GE has a nice cushion of 24 points right now but only one remaining. I think that Timmynausea still has a pretty solid chance at winning, though, with 3 guys left. He should get around 45-60 points in the final 4 round, if his guys all play like they have been. Plus whatever he gets out of the finals.
Just glancing at my chances, but I need Conley to outscore Lewis and Oden, and g-town's wallace and OSU to make the title game. UCLA also needs to make the finals as well for me to have a chance, or at worst Affalo needs to drop like 25 points or more. Should be interesting to see how it ends up. Lordscarlet is in a good spot as well, but for him to win OSU has to beat G-Town, and Oden has to outscore Wallace. If Noah can give him 28 points over the next 2 rounds and oden right around 30, then he probably can pull off the win as well. He'll need both of his guys into the finals since they aren't usually huge scorers. A georgetown trip to the finals, and 40 points from Wallace should get GE the title I believe. |
Yeah, I'm not in a bad spot, but as I expect (and hope for) G'town to beat OSU, I'm not cashing my chips in yet. :) Timmynausea definitely has the best shot here, I think.

knee deep in self pity and absolute dread at opening the box score from the North Carolina game to update the scores, but I'm feeling much better now. Oh and yes, work does suck. Thanks :D |
the first post has been updated, thanks a ton for taking the time to do that stevew.

I've got 2 in the final, but it's still up for grabs somewhat. Who would've thought that Ron Lewis would be the most productive player heading into the final?
Timmynausea is in the position to win. He's only 9 back, and with 2 players left should be considered a lock to win it. Horford plus Lewis have been good for around 30 a game. I'm only 11 back, but Conley needs to outscore Lewis and Horford by 2 points, and score at least 12 for me to win. AKA Ain't happening. If Conley drops like 25, I have a slight chance, of course his season high is only 23. Lordscarlet is just too far back from tn to have much of a chance. Maybe if he gets 40 points combined from his guys it is possible, but I doubt it.

Oden + Noah = 50 points baby!!! :)
