I have decided.....this is the NFL Week 15 Thread

Texans vs the Broncos, and at least 80% of the nation won't be seeing it.

Go RosenBrady!!!!

Honolulu_Blue 12-13-2007 12:31 PM

I am in a fantasy football conference finals this week.

I have decided to sit Jon Kitna and start Sage Rosenfelds.

MikeVic 12-13-2007 12:38 PM

So, Aaron Smith is out for the season... nice. :(

What percent of people do you think would have seen the game if it were on Sunday?

Travis 12-13-2007 03:20 PM

Andre Johnson vs Den secondary or Brandon Marshall vs Hou secondary?

I really, really want to stick with Andre, but if Marshall outdoes him tonight it'll be a very tough start to my game this week. Ah well, should be a fun game to watch and I'm really curious to see how the Houston RB's fare tonight and if anybody starts to make a charge on the job for next year.

That sucks to be sure. Now who goes in for him? Travis Kirschke? Sigh.

Fidatelo 12-13-2007 07:08 PM

Bryant Gumbel is sick! Yes!

stevew 12-13-2007 08:31 PM

These Red on Red Texans jerseys are scary in HD. Looks like what would happen if the Cardinals and Falcons uniforms decided to make Love.

Desmond 12-13-2007 08:37 PM

I love these uniforms, looks like old school electric football.

Buccaneer 12-13-2007 09:20 PM

I love how the Texans are rattling Cutler in pressure situations. Second time in a row they rushed on 4th down, this time he threw the ball away.

Go Texans.

By the way, I am decidely not a fan of monochrome uniforms but I have to admit that the Texans' uniforms look pretty good tonight. We rarely have seen that team so I don't even know what they usually wear.

Rizon 12-13-2007 09:49 PM

Seems like Denver doesn't want to win. Jerks are kicking me in the nuts in my pickem league.

stevew 12-13-2007 09:49 PM

Mario Williams is looking pretty damned good. 3 sacks.

Lathum 12-13-2007 09:56 PM

Sage is looking pretty damn good

You know, I really think Miami would have a chance to beat the Broncos.

Honolulu_Blue 12-14-2007 11:35 AM

I just saw the headline on ESPN that Chris Redman was going to remain the starting QB for the Falcons and he supports Petrino.

This ought to work out very well for the Falcons...

HaHaHa. Which is worse, him remaining the QB or him supporting Petrino? Even more importantly, who cares????

Marvin Lewis to Dolphins 2008!!!

Radii 12-15-2007 11:40 PM

Hah, only one post in the NFL thread on the night of a game, given that we have a lot of Cincinnati fans here that surprises me a bit, even with the game on the NFL Network.

RendeR 12-15-2007 11:43 PM

I am refraining from posting on teh grounds that anything I might actually have posted DURING the game would have gotten me banned or at least boxed for a month.

When I saw that Deion and Marshall Faulk were doing the game I really cringed and considered watching without sound. But they didn't end up bothering me that much. A little too much patting themselves on the backs for calling plays, but I like when the color guy(s) actually call people out. And they were saying that Chad and TJ were mailing it in and looked like they wanted to go home, they were saying how 2-11 teams really don't care about winning as much as evaluating personnel (Like the NFL wants their network broadcasting this) and they were very critical of many coaching decisions made in the game. They also gave some explanations that are a lot simpler and more reasonable then the John Madden's of the world try to present. I have to say they did allright.

damnMikeBrown 12-16-2007 12:06 AM

I still hate Deion...he just annoys me...that will never go away. That game though, as a Bengal's fan...wow, we are just a generous team. We give every opposing quarterback the opportunity to have a career day against us. That is true Christmas Spirit, and we've had it all year! What is with all this talk of our thuggery? We are givers, not takers!

Oh, and we are a horrible, horrible, horrible football team.

molson 12-16-2007 10:09 AM

It looks like good old-fashion winter conditions in Foxboro. Snow, Rain, Sleet, Wind (probably mostly rain during the game itself) I sucks I won't get the game in Boise when they're getting it about 20 miles east of here for some reason. Though I can't complain too much - I think it's only the 3rd Pats game I haven't seen live this season despite being 3,000 miles away.

SirFozzie 12-16-2007 12:14 PM

21 seperate players have scored a TD for the Pats. That's sick.

Scoobz0202 12-16-2007 12:14 PM

Ties the NFL record held by '87 Rams and '00 Broncos.

And Troy Brown makes his debut today, so they might have a chance to set a new record.

SirFozzie 12-16-2007 12:20 PM

Clemmons is probably done for the day, he's already heading into the locker room.

Alan T 12-16-2007 12:21 PM

Nice Run by Leon Washington followed by about the most inept series of 4 playcalls by a pro football team in 20 years.

Guess we get to see what a college offense can do against the pats

I can't believe we had a thread there a few weeks ago where half the posters preferred perfect conditions where the "player's talent isn't restricted" or something.

SirFozzie 12-16-2007 12:28 PM

If the Jets don't get some pressure on Brady, this will be a VERY long day for New York fans.

I wasn't one of the posters on either side in that thread, but I don't think that's really what the argument was about (but I might be thinking of a different thread).

Alan T 12-16-2007 12:45 PM

So what are the reasons why Jets fans wanted Pennington benched? He seems the far superior choice for their QB. I personally would rather have him than anything the Falcons have at QB myself.

Raiders Army 12-16-2007 12:53 PM

I think it started off as the upkeep of a field, and then turned into people saying every team should get FieldTurf to reduce the effect rain, snow, etc. had on the field. And then it kind of got into how the reasoning being that mushy field means players aren't at 100%, and certain fofcers didn't want that.

Raiders Army 12-16-2007 12:54 PM

Going for it on 4th and 2. No way they could make the field goal.

(well okay...pats take over at the 3, but still)

Alan T 12-16-2007 01:11 PM

I was about to comment that the Jets could steal this one with the weather supposedly getting worse in the second half and it being a close game.. but then the Pats block the Jets punt on the 3 yard line.. so never mind.

Because I have a better throwing arm than he does.

Pennington's got a weak arm, yes, but he's just been a scapegoat for Jets fans this season. The offense has stunk just as bad with KC at the helm, who's supposedly got a rocket arm. No blocking, no running game, bad playcalling, terrible defence (although it's gotten better recently).

TBH though...i think he gives the jets the best chance to win. He's more accurate underneath...he doesn't turn the ball over on underneath throws, and he makes better decisions then clemmons. Which is what you need against a belicheck-defense. As long as you tell him not to throw it deep and turn it over.

Desmond 12-16-2007 01:28 PM

Seriously, the guy has zero arm. I thought the same way you guys did until I actually watched game after game of 5 yard routes.

Buccaneer 12-16-2007 01:34 PM

I just saw a couple of highlights from the Cleveland game and almost started fapping. I love seeing extreme snow games.

Buccaneer 12-16-2007 01:45 PM

I just saw something I don't understand. We're getting the Jags/Steelers game and just at the 2nd half kickoff, I see the stands nearly empty?!? I expect that from the fair-weather Atlanta fans but not in Pittsburgh where they have braved the elements many times. What's going on?

I truely believe that Pennington could be a winner on the right team. He would be great with the Bears, or the Ravens...a tough defensive team that doesn't need to gun the ball. The Jets don't have that. We don't really have anything. This team lacks an identity, and while I think we are trying to acheive one, we're not there yet, and Pennington just doesn't work with no running game/no defense.

Fidatelo 12-16-2007 01:54 PM

The stands are pretty much packed. I think folks were just slow getting back from their half-time trips to the concession stands/bathrooms.

In a really, really perverse way, I want Pennington to come back next season with a new team and beat the dickens out of the Jets. Just once.

Neuqua 12-16-2007 02:07 PM

Wasn't Pennington considered one of the better QB's in the league before his injury? I thought I vaguely remembered that.

Well...no one. What I mean is that right now, the only thing the Jets can do is throw the ball. Their identity right now is a passing offense, and that doesn't work with Pennington. When your always trying to play catchup and you have Pennington as your QB, it doesn't work.

Celeval 12-16-2007 02:17 PM

Jacksonville is looking /very/ good in the snow - after opening up the second half with a 20-play touchdown drive, they then go deep on the next possession for a long touchdown and lead 22-7.`

In 2002, his first year as a starter, he was awesome.

275 for 399, a 68.9%. 3,120 yards. 22 TD's, 6 INT's. 104.2 QB Rating

Two torn rotator cuff surgeries later, he just isn't that great anymore.

JetsIn06 12-16-2007 02:21 PM

Dola

With that being said, he's still one of my favorite players in the NFL. He's a really tough football player.

What creative method does Cameron use to screw this one up:

1) Call a timeout he doesn't have?

2) Send Ray Finkle in to hold for Feely.

3) Let an errant pass bounce between his legs, which then trips up Feely on the sidelines.

JetsIn06 12-16-2007 02:52 PM

Galaril 12-16-2007 02:54 PM

That was as much a touchdown as the Pats TD against the Ravens. And while I am at it the inetrfernce against Moss interfernce as much as it was offensive interfernce with the push Moss gave with his left hand. Amd thirdly there has been alot of holding by the Pats O-line. All of this tells me the NFL commissioners office has let the officiating crew know it is in the best interest of there careers as officials to make sure the Pats get the calls today.

You're a nutjob.

As I said before - does an NFL executive really risk prison time and hope that a part-time officiating crew decides to keep quiet to increase their TV ratings 10% or whatever?

I dunno, maybe I'm watching a diffeent game. As much as I hate the Pats, and as much as I was expecting a whole lot of dirtiness on their part, it seems to have been a pretty clean, decently-officiated game.

Noop 12-16-2007 03:03 PM

So a backup QB with barely any experience drives down the field and ties the game. Wonderful.

Icy 12-16-2007 03:03 PM

This is so fucking incredible, the fins are really really embarrasing to watch.
Btw, i think the Ravens just gave the Fins a chance, with the momentum they were having, i would have gone for the 1st and 1 for TD with those 8 seconds remaining instead of kicking the FG to tie the game.

larrymcg421 12-16-2007 03:07 PM

Cameron is such a bad fucking coach that I almost think he should be investigated for collusion with gambling interests.

Crap, I have been listening to the Packer game and didn't know what was going on with Miami. GO RAVENS!!

Noop 12-16-2007 03:12 PM

And the defense folds...

Icy 12-16-2007 03:14 PM

I can't underestand the kickoff call by Cam. Two minutes to the end of the game, winning by 3, no timeouts remaining for the Ravens, and instead of a long kickoff, he calls a sky kickoff that goes out of bouds inside the fins half??? WTF was that???

Greyroofoo 12-16-2007 03:15 PM

Hopefully Cam will call another timeout to ice the kicker.

Icy 12-16-2007 03:16 PM

The fins are terrible, no doubt, but Cam has lost a few games by himself with this stupid calls this season.

Noop 12-16-2007 03:16 PM

He missed! Well I guess the offense has another chance to blow the game.

A good coach would have the Fins with 4 wins right now.

Doh. Ravens blow the chance to win. I really hope the Dolphins screw this gift up.
