Hannibals Canibals! Deadline GAME OVER

Rolls will go out tomorrow afternoon, with deadline one being at 2PM (to accomodate west coasters) Thursday!!!

Let me know If i missed something in the rules :)

RULES

We will use a 24 hour system with a 2PM EST deadline. ITS IMPORTANT TO USE CONDIDTIONALS IF YOU WONT BE AROUND! (We can discuss the timeing)

Mafia is a game of lying, deceit, and mauling. Especially mauling.

Each day you will vote for one person to lynch. The player who receives the most votes will be killed. In the event of a tie the longest-held unchanged vote will break the tie. In this game, you may NOT choose to vote for "no lynch" instead of someone specifically.

Each night the Psychos will confer and submit one player they want to attack, and which Psycho will be committing the assault.

Undetermined number of agents and psychos to start the game.
Editing posts is forbidden.
There will be no quoting of of PM's received from the game director.
There will be no discussion of the game anywhere other than this thread.
PM's between Psychos are allowed whenever. You may PM me at anytime for questions, or during the night phase with night actions. PM's between anyone else are forbidden.

VOTING

Votes for a player should be submitted in bold, for example:

Vote The PATH12

You may switch your vote with the following format:

Unvote PATH12
Vote No Lynch

ROLES

Note that not all roles may be in the game.

Light Auras

Citizen - You are a regular person, you have no powers other than your vote in the group council. You win when the evil of the group is gone.

COP – You can protect anyone any day, you may not protect them on back to back days.

Psychologist – You may determine something about a persons psychology to determine if they are good or bad..

FBI agent – You can use your authority as a fedral agent to sway the crowd to lynch someone else.

Dark Auras

Psycho- You want to kill everyone. You win when there is a 1-1 correlation.

Wiild Bill - You are the leader of the Psychos. if you are caught, you can chose to take any one other player with you.
.

Hannibal Lecter 12-07-2008 07:47 PM

1.The Jackal- Lynched day 1 COP
2.Chief Rum
3.Barkeep49- Brutal wolf killed Villegar!
4.Jeheinze
5.Packerfantic
6.EagleFan
7.Mccolins- Lynched day 2- WILD BILL
8.Hoopsguy- Night killed night one

I'm off from Job #1 this week, so I am in. Said vacation ends, though, at the end of this week, so the sooner we get this started, the better.

I'm playing.

I voted for Path to host the next game but I guess I'll play anyway

EagleFan 12-10-2008 11:41 AM

Checking in. Not even going to say what I am checking in as because who really believes it when everyone says "Villager Checking In".

Any of the wolves can feel free to say "Wolf checking in" though. Your honesty rating will get a +1 if you do that. :)

mccollins 12-10-2008 11:45 AM

Checking in here with some light aura goodness to get us going.

It's been a while and I'm still not sure about how my availability will work out (days / nights / weekends). I look forward to the game though!

jeheinz72 12-10-2008 11:46 AM

Checkin on in. Gotta actually like read the rules

Chief Rum 12-10-2008 11:49 AM

IMA villager.

EagleFan 12-10-2008 11:53 AM

No idea where to go so I will do what the rules seem to be telling me to do...

Vote The Jackal

EagleFan 12-10-2008 11:54 AM

dola: That's also a place holder as I don't know when I will get back on the site today so we need to get some kind of talk going.

PackerFanatic 12-10-2008 11:54 AM

I r here.

I probably won't be doing much analysis tonight, as I will be in Green Bay seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra. But I will be sure to get a vote in tomorrow.

Barkeep49 12-10-2008 12:04 PM

Someone, and I won't name any names here, didn't update his rules as there is something in there about dogs PM'ing. Oh I'm here in case that wasn't obvious already. And since he followed the rules a little too well (if you know what I mean) I'm going to go ahead and

fixed!

Lathum 12-10-2008 12:35 PM

checking in.

Pretty long wait until the first deadline. We may need some Ketchup porn.

Hannibal Lecter 12-10-2008 12:36 PM

a day is a long wait?

hoopsguy 12-10-2008 12:38 PM

I got a PM that reminds me of a former Lathum signature - bonus points for Clap having identical spelling to Lathum.

Note - this should not be confused with Lathum's long-standing and current custom title.

hoopsguy 12-10-2008 12:39 PM

Daytime deadline is a killer for me. There is zero chance that I'll be around at deadline tomorrow and my availability for future days at 2PM EST is suspect at best.

that sucks! I tried to pick a good time for everyone, if 1 or 3pm were preferable to people, I would gladly change!

hoopsguy 12-10-2008 12:44 PM

Nah, anytime during the day is equally bad. But tomorrow in particular I will not be on from the time I leave the house until around 4PM EST at the earliest. I'm not at all suggesting that the times should be moved. But night deadlines are better for me personally than day deadlines. No big deal, I'll play through.

Subject to change if someone smells fishy, of course.

I'll be playing WoW must of the day but checking in occasionaly

Chief Rum 12-10-2008 01:09 PM

My spidey sense says PF is a villager. But it's just a hunch.

If we started a run on you, would that get you more involved? :D

hoopsguy 12-10-2008 01:19 PM

Chief, I'm bummed that we are only going to get D1-D2 in on your "week off" as I think it would be fun to have you around during the day for WW this one time.

I agree. Sheesh, Hannibal, why didn't you start this Monday! :)

Thanks, hoops. I hope to have fun with it while I can.

Just kidding, Hannibal. Teasing you a bit. It's never easy to get a game started up quick, and the last one had the poor unintentional form of ending right at the start of the weekend. It's almost impossible to get a game list going at the start of a weekend.

Hannibal Lecter 12-10-2008 01:28 PM

woulda been nice to start last night..... since no one signed up up for the last 18 hours it was open! oh well :(

;) better to be my pal right now, Verizon is certainly NOT being my pal, got a bill today for almost 900 bucks and their rep tells me "its a valid charge from last year when an improper credit was put on your account"

I'm like, I never saw a credit? how can that happen? And even so, what did you do with MY payments? I paid my monthly bill right along for the 3 years I've had my service with these fuckers. never once have I seen a bill with a credit for anything and never once have I skipped a billing period.

Then they get some account guy on the phone with us and he all but plainly accuses me of lying about it and not having paid the BILL!

I'm <----> close to calling a lawyer and suing the worthless company just on principle. Fraud is a nasty word, but somewhere along the way their accounts people decided to stick it to this customer and make of for a screwup somewhere.

I am NOT pleased.

I know the frustration is probably pushing you to want to bite back at them now, but my suggestion would be to simply go to your bank statements and find the proof of where you paid the bill during that time and that you aren't oweing that much. Once you have the proper documentation, simply talk to their accounts people and explain you have the proof that you have been paying and see how the conversation can go from there.

It could very well be an error on their system showing that you hadn't paid, but as long as you have the cleared bank checks or whatever for the account, you should be fine.

The Jackal 12-10-2008 07:20 PM

Gonna make me have to vote self defense if no one's gonna talk..

EagleFan 12-10-2008 07:48 PM

Danny 12-10-2008 08:17 PM

Checking in, deadline is bad for me too and I'll have to make a vote and keep it there tonight and other nights.

Danny 12-10-2008 08:36 PM

Vote Lathum

No reason at this point, but may switch before I end up having to leave for work tomorrow.

Lathum 12-10-2008 08:49 PM

PackerFanatic 12-10-2008 09:21 PM

VOTE JACKAL

I realized I will not be around at all tomorrow (going to Madison for a peer group meeting) so I should get my self-defense vote in now. Go villagers go :)

The Jackal 12-10-2008 09:46 PM

unvote PF

vote EF

i'm not a wolf guys, this won't help

Chief Rum 12-11-2008 03:20 AM

Jackal, care to make a case for why? Or give us another option?

I am leaning toward a vote on you, too, although, as with all Day One votes, there's little behind it (I'll admit). So it's not like I can't be swung another way, but that's where I am leaning right now.

I will be on the morning before the deadline comes.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 06:25 AM

Jackyl- EF(21),Heinze(45), Packerfan(55)
EagleFan-BK(24),Jackyl(56)
Lathum-Danny(53)

hoopsguy 12-11-2008 06:55 AM

Have to get a vote in before I disappear for the day. I'll let the rest of you decide how Day 1 plays out and hopefully have better luck with participation starting with Day 2.

VOTE EAGLEFAN

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 07:11 AM

Jackyl- EF(21),Heinze(45), Packerfan(55)
EagleFan-BK(24),Jackyl(56), Hoopsguy(59)
Lathum-Danny(53)

EagleFan 12-11-2008 07:43 AM

That sucks. Was going to move my vote but now hoops has pretty much taken that option away from me.

Danny 12-11-2008 09:20 AM

I'm leaving until well after deadline. I'm going to keep my vote where it is for today as I don't feel compelled to keep piling onto EF or the Jackal.

Lathum 12-11-2008 11:36 AM

VOTE EAGLEFAN

really just a toss up day one vote, but someone has to break the tie.

Lathum 12-11-2008 11:38 AM

dola- I will add I find it interesting Danny not moving his vote, it's almost like he wants to avoid any scrutiny.

People who vote for candidate C when it is pretty clear there is gonna be a runoff between candidates A and B always strike me as suspiscous.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 11:38 AM

Jackyl- EF(21),Heinze(45), Packerfan(55)
EagleFan-BK(24),Jackyl(56), Hoopsguy(59), Lathum(63)
Lathum-Danny(53)

Lathum 12-11-2008 11:47 AM

EF, Jackal and anyone else around.

My vote isn't set in stone, I am always looking for a reason for a day 1 vote, no matter how small.

Danny's vote may give me that reason, I would be willing to move to him and at the very least I think he makes a good seer scan candidate.

The Jackal 12-11-2008 12:10 PM

I have nothing substantial against EF, like I said it was just self-defense since people piled on me for no reason other than a first day vote.

I'm fine with keeping an eye on Danny

Personally, I like to cast my vote and leave it there. D1 is such a crapshoot that trying to decide between two people, of whom I have very little read, seems poor. So if people hadn't coalesced around EF, but instead someone else, my vote would be solitary and out there.

jeheinz72 12-11-2008 12:12 PM

I'm not really seeing any motivation to change my vote really. Right now we know nothing on anyone, any change would just be another blind guess.

fair enough, just thought I would get some discussion going

EagleFan 12-11-2008 12:39 PM

Looks like I'm screwed anyway so I might as well:

unvote The Jackal

vote Lathum

He has made the "deciding" vote so far so that's as good a reasn as any, especially since that deciding vote was against a villager. I guess if it has to be a bad day one lynch vote it might as well be me, I have no role so at least the village isn't losing a roled member. I'll take one for the team.

Lathum 12-11-2008 12:43 PM

Sorry but somebody had to break the tie, I am fully aware we are likely villager vs villager. However, there is still 2 people left to vote, so my vote really didn't decide anything.

Lathum 12-11-2008 12:45 PM

I must admit thats an unusual move by EF, one that I doubt a wolf would make putting himself in the lead when only down 1 vote.

Cunning wolf play or a villager giving up?

Lathum 12-11-2008 12:45 PM

wish there were more people around to discuss, maybe this mid day deadline isn't such a hot idea.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 12:47 PM

Jackyl- Heinze(45), Packerfan(55)

Villager taking a shot at the one who put him over the top. Hoping it gives The Jackal an incentive to move his vote off me and then everything is back up for grabs. Need to shake things up somehow.

Lathum 12-11-2008 12:55 PM

well like I said I am willing to trust you are a villager at this point.

If you move your vote back to jackal I'll move mine.

EagleFan 12-11-2008 12:58 PM

Here's what we have.

I am not a wolf.

heinz and PF piled onto the vote on The Jackal, something worth looking into. I really don't think Lathum is a wolf as it wouldn't be a great move to make a tie breaking vote for a wolf or suspicion would be raised.

BK makes an early vote on me. Possibly a wolflike vote as he question my day one vote. With no PB in this game I had to vote someone so I went with what I saw the rules say at the time (the example vote has since been changed) ;).

The Jackal's vote is self defense at the time so maybe nothing to be made of that. hoops jumps in to tie things up (maybe a wolf vote if we believe that The Jackal is a wolf).

Danny's vote could either be an attempt to bring a 3rd party into the mix or as Lathum suggests a wolf trying to keep himself "in the clear".

EagleFan 12-11-2008 12:58 PM

Show me that I can trust you then.

EagleFan 12-11-2008 12:59 PM

unvote Lathum

vote The Jackal

Lathum 12-11-2008 12:59 PM

unvote EF
vote Jackal

Lathum 12-11-2008 01:00 PM

hmm, 2 non voters as well

The Jackal 12-11-2008 01:00 PM

And you made a terrible move, I just got back.

The Jackal 12-11-2008 01:00 PM

I'm the cop.

The Jackal 12-11-2008 01:01 PM

I guess I should have revealed but I didn't think there'd be a deadline switch on day one.. smooth.

EagleFan 12-11-2008 01:02 PM

I wish you could have been on a bit earlier. I really didn't want to move back to you and was hoping for the non-voters to show up to see what happened.

The Jackal 12-11-2008 01:03 PM

I was on for a couple hours before, didn't look like I'd need to reveal, then I needed to run some errands and left at like 1:30

The Jackal 12-11-2008 01:03 PM

it's not your fault EF, you switching back to me was as much self defense as my vote on you, I don't know if you're bad

EagleFan 12-11-2008 01:05 PM

I should have just taken one for the team.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 01:11 PM

Jackyl- Heinze(45), Packerfan(55), EF(81), Lathum(82)
EagleFan-BK(24),Jackyl(56), Hoopsguy(59)

Lathum 12-11-2008 01:12 PM

damn, just got back.

That sucks.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 01:12 PM

It's a day 1 vote. Either I know conclusively who the villagers are or I don't. I shouldn't be killed later on for something I couldn't really be expected to know D1. The way I look at it, saving or condemning a wolf on D1 deserves suspicion later on. Pretty much anything else? Not as much. So a close D1 vote is important, I will grant you that.

Barkeep49 12-11-2008 01:14 PM

Well that was unfortunate. Didn't even get to that reveal part.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 01:14 PM

you wake up, hoops is dead he is a villegar!

hows that for a writeup!

Deadline is tommorow at 2!

jeheinz72 12-11-2008 01:15 PM

Well this isn't going well at all.

DId we have some non-voters too? Ick.

Hannibal Lecter 12-11-2008 01:16 PM

all pms should be out.... if i forgot you let me know!

EagleFan 12-11-2008 01:16 PM

Sorry Jackal, and fellow villagers for that matter. I should have done my other plan, to try to work a no lynch (I gess I need to look at the rules to see if that is possible but I remember seeing a no lynch vote listed in the example so I assume it is). That is why I posted asking Lathum to show me I could trust him, I was hoping he would switch but then I saw the time was way too close to deadline to wait it out and made the move.

I understand that on day 1 the only people who know who a villager is are the wolves.

That being said by not giving anyone something to anylize later in the game you are hindering the process of finding wolves. The only ones that want to do that are the wolves
