Werewolf fantasy baseball
 

Done this the past few years, lemme know if you are interested.

This isn't a werewolf game, it is a fantasy baseball league for the group of us that play werewolf. I have always felt we are a tighter knit sub community of the board.

This has been succesfull the past few years, all I ask is you are active if you sign up. We will do a live draft probably mid week sometime in late march and will use Yahoo sports.

You don't have to be present at the draft to play, but it is advised you are.

We can accomodate as many as 20 people, although we probably wont get that many, as long as we have an even number.

I have also considered doing this as a keeper league, if that is something that interests anyone let me know.

I actually just had a good idea based off of a Blacksox type scandal.

A werewolf game where every person is a player on the team and some people are taking money from the mob and throwing games (wolves). Could make it based on a world series type thing where at the end of each day the village either wins or loses the game based on the actions contributed by the players. The wolves would win by causing the village to lose a certain amount of games or achieving 1:1 and the village would win by winning a certain number of games or by getting rid of all the corrupted players.

I'll give it a shot.

FWIW, I plan on letting the computer draft for me. I mean, it's not like it's 1989 and I have every team's 40 man roster memorized. Outside of the Cardinals, I don't really know who or what's going on in baseball. You could tell me Roger Clemens is still pitching and I might believe you.

If we end up with 10 or less, can we make this AL or NL only? Too many good players for 8-10 teams using full MLB.

I'll leave it up to everyone else but my vote would be to keep it both since it is so casual there may be people who don't have enough knowledge to pick a roster from one league.

If we do switch I would vote NL.

No big thing if we go to one league, and I'll play whichever league it is.

But I agree with Lathum. I would like to keep both leagues in, regardless of size. Hoping we get some more entries.

I am actually a Dodgers fan, but I usually don't draft much from my favorite teams.

Wow, I didn't look since late last night (must have been before Saturday's results update). You have been kicking my butt all week. Today's the first day I am ahead of you all week, and the breakdown was usually something like 12-5 or 13-4 for you.

I know it's early, but I'm savoring my tie for first right now. I know far less about baseball than just about anyone here...at least the current state of the game. I'm happy that I can at least point at least to one week and say I was king of the castle.

Of course, SCHMIDTY is beating me down this week, so I'm back in the muck.

Not such a hot start for my team, but if my hitters start coming around I'll be alright. Plus it seems every team I play puts up huge number on offense.

In total, I am 4-23 in offense categories. At least I'm 19-5 (19-2 if you leave out saves) in pitching categories.

I find myself in 2nd to last, but really don't think that I have a total stinker of a team. Hopefully some of the hitters who are off to slow starts get going. I think that started to happen last week, but the pitching that had been OK to start the year went south.

I definitely feel better about this team, early results notwithstanding, than I did about the hockey team that was auto-drafted and had just about zero chance of winning with garbage goalies.

My pitchers have mostly had awful Aprils, and there are a couple glaring holes in the lineup at the moment but it's early.

So here is how my season is going - Lackey has been out all year. Today was his first start. He was ejected after two pitches.

I know, I was hoping he would get shelled.

You should see my other team. Adrian Gonzalez and Raul Ibanez. Gonna win hitting categories this week.

Methlabs and I are in a really tight race with lots of categories able to go either way. Should be a fun last day for the championship
