I have no idea what actually just happened other than watching my little guy run back & forth of his own volition. I also didn't realize before signing up that I could have been someone's pupil if I had joined through their page, so I guess I just screwed somebody out of getting whatever bonus that entails.

Speaking of sticks and hammers, how do you get weapons? And how did that kid with the dog get Cujo to help beat my ass?

It all seems completely random, I just ended up with a knife after one fight.

seems random, i got a baton when i levelled to 2, no idea why. And yeah I got my ass beat by a dog as well.

Some of the weapons seem so unfair. I was hit by some big club that took about 33% of my HP. Three hits and I'm dead.

The only thing I've gained so far, other than the big bone I started with, was some peach juice thing that's supposed to boost my health. Problem is I see no way to activate it before or during a fight. Does it automatically get used when needed?

Yeah, it is automatically activated as needed.

there is no activation of anything that I see, weapons or potions. I have a sort of dagger and big axe and more often than not I'm yelling to my brute to use the dang +18damage axe and he will wait until he's way too weak and get beat...

Quite probably the same with the potions I'd think.

Won my first five fights, ran into a girl with a knife that did 14 damage. Almost recovered to win that fight, but waited just one hit too long to bring out the staff of ass-kicking.

I'm not sure about this game. The randomness and lack of control kind of sucks. I'm going to keep playing it for a few days, but I don't know how long my interest will last.

Does it just automatically distribute attributes points for you?

When you challenge yourself, you gain a pupil so, in the case of myself I've just been creating other Brutes and challenging Mustangus so, I have 8 pupils now. You gain a little extra experience as you gain pupils.

But overall, ya.. pretty random.

It appears the servers are in Europe, because "the next day" seems to start around 6pm or 7pm Central.

I think this big club thing is gonna piss me off enough to stop playing. It's like a one-hit kill right now against my guys (assuming it's used half-way through the battle).

The weapons and items seem way too powerful.

My guy has had pretty lame upgrades (hit point bonus, a bomb that takes off like 15 points, a net, and juice that gives you about 30 HP back when my guy chooses to use it). Meanwhile, I am fighting guys with 1 or 2 dogs (that absorb their owners' attacks for about 30 HPs) and/or 2 or 3 weapons. My secondary character has a pretty cool skill where they steal the weapon and can use it against their opponent.

I fought a 3rd level guy with a dog and a morning star. How are they getting all these goods? I just have a frikkin' knife..

Up to level 5, 15 wins recorded.

So how come every other player of equal level I fight seems to have at least 3 or 4 different weapons to choose from while I still have only 2 (counting the worthless net as a "weapon")?

I've won one fight in three days.

I've fought the lowest health points available, I've fought the highest health points available. I've tried opponents with less speed, less strength, less agility, nothing I do seems to matter since I've got only that large animal bone to work with while my opponents seem to have stopped off at Weapons 'R Us before the fight. I literally just watched a guy with half my health and no skill higher than any of mine win a fight where I only got 2 attacks in the entire battle while he got five consecutive attacks in just one trip with a knife that does as much damage as my weapon.

I think this one is ready for file 13 for me, all I'm providing are easy wins for my opponents.

I can't answer your questions, but it was questions like those that stopped me playing the game.

Weapons just seem random. If it helps I have a lvl 3 and a lvl 4, both only have one weapon.

Sucks. I just went up against a lvl 4 who pulled out that huge mallet that did 40 damage, a knife, and a smaller knife. All while my lvl 4 just has a dog and a stick. Im more equipped to play fetch than win a fight.

This, really, is an incredibly terrible game. They have somehow roped me in because I feel like I've committed time to it, but... This game sucks.

And having weapons doesn't mean anything. Half of the time my guy just keeps slapping his opponent while he has a club and more waiting for him to use.

The game sucks, but I find myself logging in an setting up fights, usually between my own stable of characters.

Yesterday, I did fight a guy with a whip. I think I go close to him 3 times. All the other times, he repelled me with the whip. And I can't stand the damn throwing stars. If your brute can't dodge them, you're 30 hit points down off one attack.

Yeah this game isn't great but I log in still since it takes like a minute of my time. But the randomness is very annoying. Seems like the crappier of my two characters just got that club thing when he hit level 5, so maybe he'll decide to use it in tomorrow's fights. Then again, maybe he won't use it. Who knows.

Oh yeah I fought a guy with TWO pets. What the hell.

edit: And the stats annoy me a lot. One of my guys has 12 speed, and when I fight someone with 2 or 3 speed... you'd think I would just attack constantly and dodge all his attacks, no? Apparently not.

yeah, gave up because of the lack of control and the randomness of it all. Lots more fun with Katsuro and Gladiatus. :)

I still play, but it's still frickin' random. I think the flail is even cheaper than the big club thing now. A hit from the flail took off about 40HP.

I don't really understand why, but I'm still really enjoying this game - and that's with just one character.

I have a couple of lvl 6 guys. It is random, but still kind of fun.

One of my characters just got a frickin BEAR. That's seriously cool, so I'm gonna play for a while.

I still play, though I don't really know why. It frustrating watching my guy not use a weapon while he's getting beat by a stick or to see him throw away the club for a knife after one attempt, but it's still fun.

I try to justify the weapon throw-away as the weapon not being useful anymore. So maybe after one attempt, the club breaks... but the animations can't show that.

Ya know, that helps somewhat...

Things seem to somewhat balance out after you get a few levels. I have a character that steals weapons and another one that breaks them when he hits.

Still, bottom line is that it is pretty random.

I got destroyed by a guy with a bear. Scary.
However, my character now has a "cry of the damned" ability that scares off all creatures my opponent has... if he chooses to use it.

The randomness is annoying yet adds excitement that on any given day you could win... or lose big time, but I'm still playing it for now.

Has anyone tried the other games advertised on the site?

I'm tyring out Dino RPG. It's fine. about 2 turns a day and no interaction with other players as of yet.

I played Dino RPG for a little while, will probably go back to it, simply forgot about it for the last few days. It's kind cool, very slow paced.

From Twin Motion, I like Alpha Bounce, a sort of adventure style arkanoid clone, and Kado Kado, a cute collection of flash games where you earn points that could eventually be transferred to amazon gift cards. I like their puzzle games, you get 4 news gems to use every day, makes for a couple minutes of quick fun. :)

One of my characters got the net as their last upgrade... and they actually used it effectively in a fight today. It was thrown on the other dude's pet, and that pet didn't attack me all fight!

Yeah - that's really the only useful purpose for the net.

I'm still enjoying this game, although I also still don't understand why.

I've gotten to the point where I schedule tournaments between my many brutes. I track results and progress via spreadsheet.

Yeah I still play... I think because it takes almost no time, and I really don't know what to expect out of any fight. I don't really know, but it still has me.

Good idea! Although I only have two myself right now.

I read that getting pupils really help your characters advance, as you get experinece whenever a pupil levels up.

However, you cannot create your own pupil, nor can you fight as your pupil, since the server tracks IP addresses and will not award experience if the pupil and master are from the same IP.

What we should do is this:

(1) Everyone FOFC'er create a new Brute
(2) For every Brute, everyone else would create a pupil of that Brute
(3) Make sure you keep fighting with all your Brutes.

For example, Toddzilla, Wade, and FrogMan all create their main Brute. Wade and FrogMan would create pupils of Toddzilla. Wade and Toddzilla would create pupils of FrogMan, etc.

So each person would have a main brute with pupils as well as one pupil for every other main Brute in our FOFC "clan".

That way, out main Brutes will advance faster.

I have 3 brutes as it is and don't play each one every day. :)

I've even tried using an anonymizer, but haven't found one that doesn't cause errors with the site.

Right now I have 2 brutes that I play regularly - WheelsVT and JaggedEdge.

How are you scheduling tourneys with your own brutes? Sounds a lot like creating your own WWF league.

It appears that we are not getting xp for each other. I wonder if it knows that we have characters so just that none of our new characters can give someone xp for leveling?

I don't know - I noticed that too. That really sucks...

I'm level 10 now, so I could start an FOFC Clan.

I try every 2-3 days but at least half the time I get the not available message, especially in early morning when I usually knock out all of my one time a day online things (like fantasy sports lineup changes).

Yeah, I have to refresh a bit there. Some times (like you said, 9ish in the morning is one of them) you have to do it more often than others.

I still try to play and I'm level 9. I don't like that your "turns" don't accumulate. If I miss a few days, I still only have three fights.
