NFL Week 9 Discussion Thread: More Breaking News
In a stunning turn of events, Bill Belichick has received the entire Minnesota Vikings slot of draft picks for the 2011 NFL draft, courtesy of Brad Childress. In return, the Vikings send nothing but a box of Ritz crackers and a picture of Randy Moss, signed by Dennis Green.
In other news... A man in Mexico City sees the likeness of Brett Favre in a catina window. Thousands gather. At least one player from every team will "guarantee victory" in an upcoming game. JaMarcus Russell has a workout with the Washington Redskins. ...discuss... |
Quote:
I can buy the rest, but there is no way that the Redskins worked Russell out. I mean, come on, that is too far fetched. |
Agreed. I just can't see Russell getting his fat ass off the couch to even make an effort to make the trip.
|
if russell, merriman and moss aren't all redskins by next week i'll be disappointed in dan snyder.
|
Moss is a food critic now?
|
Quote:
He dont eat no slop, thats for sure |
Watching NFL Live... got a pretty good kick out of the McNabb interview. He's sweating bullets and gasping for breath as he answers questions about his benching.
|
Quote:
lol, what a piece of shit Moss is. |
Sounds like Tinucci’s Restaurant is going to have a nice short term bump in business as people determine if Randy was right or now.
|
Quote:
I'm just relieved Moss apparently feeds his dogs. |
Did anyone post this yet? I'm going to anyways!

Going to the Giants-Seahawks game on Sunday. Just found out my boy who works for Costco got box seats and field passes from a vendor. My excitement level just went through the roof.
|
Quote:
well good news for you. Hasselback won't be playing due to his concussion. |
Pats season in trouble/Ping JiMGA - Patriots sign QB Jonathan Crompton and DL Lorenzo Washington practice squad
|
Why is the Pats' season in trouble?
|
Quote:
Ah yes, the Incrompetent One ;) (Also proof that, slimy SOB that he might be, Lane Kiffin isn't a bad offensive mind at times. He actually made the guy productive for a while) |
Jon had to live through Crompton at Tennessee. Tongue in cheek with the season in trouble, though.
|
Quote:
He is just afraid. |
Quote:
Well given the percentage of QB's the Giants defense has knocked out of games, lets just say he's feeling the effects of the concussion a bit less than he's letting on. :) |
If I'm a QB facing the Giants, I tell my offense that I take them out for diner if I'm not KOed during the game.
|
Quote:
Pumpy looks super silly there. |
|
I was surprised New England's Gary Guyton was not fined more and/or suspended for what at the time I thought was a pretty blatant helmet to helmet contact.
|
Always nice to see the Colts put another player on IR (Clint Sessions) :banghead:
|
That's racist.
|
DeSean Jackson will be wearing a new helmet to help prevent concussions. Shouldn't this helmet be mandatory for all players?
|
Everyone should look like Mark Kelso did.
|
Quote:
Lets just get the chin straps on the guys first. I don't know how many times I see freaking running backs in the backfield (right before the ball is snapped) with their chin straps off or their mouth piece still in their face mask. |
Quote:
The Colts placed another player IR today, this time WR Anthony Gonzales :banghead: |
Quote:
Does the I in IR stand for Indianapolis? |
And I thought the Bears organization was a mess.

Good god Childress is an unstable wreck. How long until he barricades himself in an underground bunker hoping to outsmart and hide from his enemies?
|
The Brad Childress & Brett Favre combo was always a ticking time bomb waiting to implode. Far too much drama.
|
Childress has needed to go since.... when he took the job over. I constantly berated Childress in the last two seasons and called him a Top 5 Worst coach in the NFL and nobody believed; glad his reign may finally come to an end..... Wilf can't continue to fire top notch players in favor of Childress. Childress is the problem; has been and always will be. If Wylf had the balls last week we'd still have Moss and be sitting just fine for a playoff push.

And I saw the video that came along with the report where it said Favre will sit as soon as he thinks there isn't any hope left in the season. In other words, the streak will be ending shortly. Quote:
Reminds me of the story about Plummer that got posted. Jake vastly blamed Shanahan due to him being a perfectionist to where it's detrimental. |
Quote:
I question that, because if that were truly the case, then why does McNabb have the locker room on his side according to the reports I've seen. |
Childress is a locker room cancer, questioning Harvin's effort is absolutely ridiculous. In hind sight T.O. was probably in the right telling Chilly not to talk to him when they were in Philly.
|
Quote:
But there is only so much you can cut and simplify due to a stupid QB until it becomes a no-win situation. |
Favre throws INT, Arz runs it back, Minn strips ball from defender, ball goes out the back of the endzone.
|
Greg Camarillo for Hustle of the Year Award.
|
Is Cleveland really up by 10 over NE?
|
Quote:
But they picked him. |
Quote:
*sigh* Who got the INT? |
Jonathan Stewart joins DeAngelo Williams on the sideline as they cart him off the field.
|
Let's go Vikings D. You've been a supreme disappointment on my fantasy team this year.
|
Baltimore gets an easy INT when a Miami receiver falls down then have to settle for a FG...then the holder fumbles the hold. Ugh
|
Claussen in for Moore in Carolina

+1 |
Wes Welker is going to be kicking for New England
|
Mangini and Cleveland are pulling all kinds of neat things out of their bag of tricks vs New England today.
|
Quote:
seriously? |
Quote:
Supposedly Gostkowski is injured. Welker was practicing his field goals. |
Quote:
Great, three guesses who my fantasy kicker was today. That's on top of having Jonathan Stewart in the lineup. edit to add: Not to mention counting on Roddy White as one of my top scorers. |
As Browns fan I'm loving how the team has been playing in the first half of the game.
Having seen the other games the Browns have played this season I hold out hope that we don't blow it in the second half like we have been doing this season. |
Okay, there is no dumber rule in all of sports than this stupid "going to the ground" bullshit that just overruled a Houston TD.
|
Quote:
I'm guessing concussion with Stewart with a helmet to helmet hit, so not likely to be back I think |
Great timeout by Childress to give Arizona enough time to score before the half.
I'm happy he's doing whatever it takes to ensure he won't coaching the Vikings next week. |
My beloved Cards over Minnesota 14-10 at the half. That would be the last nail in the coffin for the Vikings given the Cards poor play this year and Vikes at home.
|
And now the Panthers are down to one healthy running back as Tyrell Sutton goes off the field with a leg or ankle injury
|
fuck me - seriously??
we're losing to fucking Cleveland?? |
Quote:
They beat up the Saints pretty badly a few weeks ago. They aren't a horrible team Edit: Yes, their record is bad, but that is several close losses to pretty strong teams this season. The only easy team Cleveland has faced was Cincy, who they beat |
I like Colt McCoy. Now I just wonder who will we might be able to get to give him a top flight receiver next season.
|
Quote:
Yeah, but it's fucking Cleveland. I hate fucking Cleveland. I wish them an eternity of misfortune and suffering. |
That should be it for Favre.
|
So, the Jets rough the kicker and hurt Jason Hanson. Nick Harris, the punter, is the holder, therefore can't kick, at least on short notice. So, who attempts the extra point?
Ndamukong Suh. Hit the upright and missed, but goddamn if that isn't funny. |
Quote:
He get hurt again? |
Quote:
Oh man can't wait to see that on the highlight shows lol |
Man Miami missing out on multiple opportunities to get back in the game against Baltimore-a should have been an INT run back for a TD (was dropped) and now a missed FG by the "hot" kicker Carpenter
|
Arizona has the 29th ranked run defense, but Adrian Peterson has just 10 carries through 3 quarters. Harvin's effort in practice is probably to blame for being down 14 though.
|
I guess I was hoping a little too unrealistically that Carolina might have had a chance of upsetting the Saints today.
|
Atleast Childress is going out in style. Its very possible he has messed this situation up so badly he will never be offered another head coaching job.
|
Quote:
Fix'd. |
Quote:
Double FIXED |
Welker hits the xtra-point and kicks off also
|
Favre streak ends next week. And not because of injury. Wow is this team embarrassing.
|
Yeah for Peyton Hillis!!
|
Pats have no answer for Hillis today
|
Peyton Hillis.
Don't really need to say anything else. |
Game over, Hoyer in for Brady. Picked off on his second play.
|
Brett Favre interception time?
|
Quote:
Or not. |
Love Cleveland beating New England.
|
can favre please just go away. now were going to have to hear more circle jerking over him
|
*sighs* at Arizona
|
Hey Fox, Saints lead 34-3...I think its safe to move on to a game that's you know...actually close?
|
Quote:
and take that baboon childress with you |
i hope the LOLions beat the jets
|
WTF is going on? Suddenly the Vikings have a pass rush again.
|
Quote:
I am praying for them save Chilly's job. |
detroit trying to lose

Quote:
you evil bastard   |
How is it possible to Detroit fans to retain any faith in humanity?
|
keep me updated on what's happening with Cards/Vikes please since they aren't showing it here

Vikes win 27-24, Longwell 35 yd FG |
Quote:
Not the first time I have heard that one. |
Quote:
Outstanding coaching job by Chilly. Time for another extension. |
*sigh*
|
The refs missed the most fucking obvious hold I've ever seen in the Vikings-Cards game.
The first play after the two minute warning (pass to Petersen) Steve Hutchinson had a hold of a Cardinal and rode him about ten yards down the field. I had to rewind and watch it again to make sure my eyes weren't tricking me! |
