Beware the Fat Man in Red (Game Over: Village Wins!)

Giving this a one time shot. If we get enough signups the game will begin Monday the 10th.

Welcome to the Christmas gathering from hell. What started as a great reunion has turned into terror as the Fat Man in Red and his evil minions have begun killing off those at the party.

He truly is a mystical creature and is able to blend into a crowd as he waits for the right time to strike (or for one of his minions to do his dirty work).

Standard WW rules apply. I will update the rules/roles over the next couple days.

EagleFan 12-04-2012 11:13 PM

General Rules

Deadline: 11:00 PM EST - 11:00 good, 11:01 late (I will try to get as close to this as possible; I will be working night shift during this trip so I will be online but will have to work in the write ups when I have a spare moment)

Tie: Have a tie vote and find out what it is.... I dare you

PM: No direct quoting from your PM. Villagers will be told "You are a vanilla Villager" in their PM

Order of night action: BG protect in place; WW night kill; scans

EagleFan 12-04-2012 11:13 PM

Roles

Non-believer - You don't believe in the Fat Man in Red and have the ability to see those who do believe. Since you are the only non-believer anyone else that you see as a non-believer must not be on your side. Once a night you may scan one person to see if they are a believer.

Selfless Believer - You want nothing more than to see everyone else have a great holiday season. You may submit an order to protect one person each night. You may self protect but not protect the same person on consecutive nights. If you guard the person who will be making the kill that night there will be no kill. If that person is the Fat Man in Red you will be killed that night and he will lose his brutal ability.

Super Believer - You are so filled with the spirit of the season that you are a believer of the Fat Man in Red. Your dedication gives you the ability to sway the vote once during the game.

Fat Man in Red - You used to give everyone what they wanted during the holiday season but you have heard your last whining spoiled brat and can't take another complaint. Time has come for you to unleash your fury on the unsuspecting masses. You must make a kill every other night for your team (either the odd or the even nights). The other nights someone from your team will make the kill, someone that you select.

Elves - Minions of the Fat Man in Red

Sceptic - You always are accused of ruining the season for everyone. You will find out who the evil team is and you want to see everyone punished for their beliefs so you want the evil team to win. You count as a "villager" for win condition totals but you win/lose with the "wolves".

LOLOLOL

I was thinking about posting rules today for the next WW to see what we could do, and I spent a hour fixing my rules for my next game.

Let's do this. In.

Autumn 12-06-2012 03:19 PM

Nobody told me you guys were sneaking around starting a werewolf game!

Autumn 12-06-2012 03:20 PM

I distracted you with the draft thread.... ;)

EagleFan 12-06-2012 05:32 PM

Oh, as an FYI. I am waiting to find out what my schedule will be like next week to determine the schedule for the game.

I have a last minute work trip. I will have down time to run the game, just a matter of when it will be and if I will be working days or nights.

Now I have to log in!

britrock88 12-07-2012 10:15 AM

Please, let's not stall at 9...

Chief Rum 12-07-2012 11:17 AM

I'll play, but, FYI, my time will be pretty limited.

Autumn 12-07-2012 01:39 PM

Time limited, in the holiday season? Look who just outed himself as Santa.

CF already outed himself as Santa. ;)

Autumn 12-07-2012 08:36 PM

That I'll never believe.

mauchow 12-08-2012 12:36 PM

i'll play too. just to spice it up a bit

Jacob Typer 12-08-2012 01:22 PM

Hmmmm....

This looks interesting. Let's see how things play out though, cause I'm sooo busy in the holidays with family and such.

EagleFan 12-08-2012 01:45 PM

I'll take signups until early Sunday evening when I'll send out the roles.

Autumn 12-09-2012 07:18 PM

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

EagleFan 12-09-2012 08:16 PM

Sending out roles, signups are over.

EagleFan 12-09-2012 08:33 PM

CrimsonFox needs to make space in his inbox. Then I can sinish sending out the roles and the game can begin.

Autumn 12-09-2012 09:20 PM

Ah, it's just like old times.

CrimsonFox 12-09-2012 10:13 PM

yup :)

EagleFan 12-09-2012 10:17 PM

Now that everyone has received their Roles, or lack there of, the game is on.

EagleFan 12-09-2012 10:33 PM

Going to be mostly unavailable until sometime tomorrow evening; fly out tomorrow morning and don't arrive until early evening. May sign on in the Houston airport during my layover to catch up.

Abe Sargent 12-09-2012 10:42 PM

I'm here like Flynn....wait, that's not how it goes....

britrock88 12-09-2012 10:47 PM

From the BG description...
"If you guard the person who will be making the kill that night there will be no kill. If that person is the Fat Man in Red you will be killed that night and he will lose his brutal ability."

This makes me think there won't be role reveals when people die; otherwise, the Fat Man will in all likelihood be wearing a target the next day.

britrock88 12-09-2012 10:47 PM

(yay, werewolf!)

Simbo Klice 12-09-2012 10:47 PM

Checking in, it's good to be playing Werewolf at FOFC again! What's it been, 5 months?

I don't know, unless the bodyguard mentions his target beforehand it doesn't sound like that would "out" the Fat Man... And that still leaves the possibility that the bodyguard was actually targeted for a kill, not killed because of who he targeted.

CrimsonFox 12-09-2012 11:13 PM

who;s Flynn? I didn't see that listed in the roles. Oh yeah, in.

Chief Rum 12-10-2012 02:49 AM

Wuzzup, peeps?

Autumn 12-10-2012 08:31 AM

Glad to see us rolling again, this is exciting!

And yeah, Britrock, I don't think the bodyguard dying will tell us anything unless he left a clue about who he was targeting. But I hadn't really noticed that detail on a first read - the BG is basically a slut and a bodyguard all in one. That helps us out some, since he doesn't hurt the village roles.

Autumn 12-10-2012 08:37 AM

So 11 people. Assuming all roles in game we have Seer, BG, Duke vs. Santa, some number of elves, and Skeptic.

One elf would give us 9-2 to start, with one of the nine being on the bad side and knowing the bad guys, so I can't imagine there's more than one elf. So five vanillas and four roled villagers. The Skeptic will most likely cost us a lynch at some point, so we've really got to try our best to get a wolf by tomorrow at least.

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 08:56 AM

Morning folks,!

GoldenEagle 12-10-2012 09:54 AM

I am checking in. Hopefully I will be active today, or as active as one can be on Day 1.

It is good to have WW back!

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 10:08 AM

Yay WW is back. Now let's talk of votes and lynches

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 10:13 AM

Okay, I'll be the first one to cast a stone. Until I get more information, as a placeholder, I am rolling my trusty d12. I will vote for whoever I roll, and if I get a 12 then I won;t vote for anyone just yet. Yes, if I roll myself I will vote for myself, it's only fair. here we go.....

It's a 9!

Vote Autumn

Sorry, the die forced me to!

At least you are here though

Autumn 12-10-2012 10:24 AM

You don't have an 11-sided die and you call yourself a roleplayer? Pfft.

Autumn 12-10-2012 10:29 AM

I'll throw a vote out there on someone I like to get talking early.

Vote DaddyTorgo

JAG 12-10-2012 10:33 AM

Vote GoldenEagle

Howdy. Nothing much in the rules that hasn't already been discussed as I can see it, other than me wondering if the sceptic could be scanned as non-believer by the seer (the wording in the description leaves some wiggle room, though a cultist isn't usually scanned as evil by a seer).

JAG 12-10-2012 10:36 AM

Oh, and it's a later than usual deadline but coincidentally my schedule is also later these days, so it should work out well.

JAG 12-10-2012 10:49 AM

I am also pleased not to be captain this game.

JAG 12-10-2012 12:14 PM

Is this mic on?

JAG 12-10-2012 12:16 PM

Day 1 voting as of Post 54:

1 Autumn - Abe Sargent (47)
1 DaddyTorgo - Autumn (49)
1 GoldenEagle - JAG (50)

Chief Rum 12-10-2012 12:17 PM

Hey, has JAG checked in yet?

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 12:24 PM

I'm about to vote for JAG for too many dolas in an 11 person game. :)

JAG 12-10-2012 12:28 PM

I went an hour and a half between some of those posts.

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 12:30 PM

Hey, you can explain it away any way you want man.

DaddyTorgo 12-10-2012 01:22 PM

Game on. Vanilla-villager style mofo's!

DaddyTorgo 12-10-2012 01:22 PM

Silly me. I didn't realize it was a midday deadline.

Zinto 12-10-2012 02:10 PM

Congrats!

Well, I'm back around and will be until deadline. Nothing so far has piqued my interest in terms of looking scummy. Normally don't like when people claim to use dice or rng's to get a "random" vote, but after reading Abe's dynasties I really don't put it past him to do that.

Still, with a vote on my name it's in my best interests to find some reason to put a vote on someone so:

vote GoldenEagle

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 06:08 PM

Your Abe has returned from his excursion. I walked to a local shopping center about a mile away. shopped at a food store, went to Wendy's and ate dinner and read half of a book for class, then left and walked back. It was wet earlier today but a good termpreature and I felt adventurous.

GoldenEagle 12-10-2012 06:12 PM

Nothing much going on, other than DT giving weird reverse wolf vibes. I will hold off voting for now and see what develops in the next four hours or so.

Chief Rum 12-10-2012 06:25 PM

Where best to hide as a wolf than out in the open? ;)

How so?

britrock88 12-10-2012 06:53 PM

Might I suggest we use Day 1 (which I find to be useless in most instances) to find out what happens with a tied vote?

The mod dares you to do it, and you think it's a good idea? Oh man.

Simbo Klice 12-10-2012 06:56 PM

I'm not opposed to looking DT's way; he's either a vanilla villager or he's lying!

Zinto 12-10-2012 06:58 PM

I am not that interested in finding out what happens in a tie hopefully we won't ever need to know. A worse case scenario for us would be that both the top two are villagers and both get lynched.

And if we are orchestrating a tie, I think we limit some of the information we could potentially get out of the day one vote.

Zinto 12-10-2012 07:02 PM

I believe that Mau is the only person who has not checked in at this point so hopefully he shows up at some point today.

britrock88 12-10-2012 07:05 PM

2 Autumn - Abe Sargent (47), Zinto (78)
2 DaddyTorgo - Autumn (49), Chief Rum (84)
2 GoldenEagle - JAG (50), Simbo Klice (81)
1 Simbo Klice - CrimsonFox (71)

Abe Sargent 12-10-2012 07:06 PM

Does DT giving off wierd revrese wolf vibes mean he seems like the Cultist, or is that a cute way of saying a villager.

Well worse case is probably that someone random gets killed and it turns out to be the seer. Or both tie votes get killed and one has a role but doesn't tell us for some reason. These things happen. And yes, if we orchestrate a tie we don't get vote history. I never see a good reason to work for a tie. There's always someone who will break it anyway, and that just confuses the issue.

britrock88 12-10-2012 07:09 PM

Okey doke. All points well taken; carry on.

Autumn 12-10-2012 07:17 PM

More to the point, can one give off weird vibes in five posts, one of which is a smiley face?
