CSFBL Season #3
Well, we have eight open teams, but I'm not giving up cause my team looks really damn good. El Paso currently has the league's best record at 15-7 and managed to pick up a couple of talented free agents in the off season. Defending champ Wyandotte (who is available, by the way) is 1.5 games behind me, but that means nothing. I finished 22 games ahead of them last year and they still kicked my ass in the playoffs.
What does everyone else think of their teams chances this year? |
my team isn't looking very good this year...
dola-
I'm 10-12 so far this year...:( |
11-12 so far, missed both the end of the second season and the beginning of this one, since I had no internet connection at home for the last 3 weeks.
I'm hoping some people come back, or we get some replacements. The main point of interest for me at this point is that my draft picks are playing this year, so the team is becoming "mine". Without all the FOF'rs to play & pick against, I'm thinking the achievement factor will very much decrease.
Vatos suck
Vatos Rule! bbor's suck!
Oh, and just for the record, I always call your team the Mississippi bbors, not the Mississigua bbors. So take that! |
AHAHAH..i just call you team shit :D
Well, I tend to kick the shit out of your team... :)
Yes....Yes you do :D
Two out of three games so far this season...
Seattle should again be a serious contender this season. We're hoping to not choke in the playoffs this time though...
The game is moderately interesting, but it could be a lot better. He really needs to get trading working, fix fatigue to be more realistic and add injuries. As it is now you just put your best 9 out there and watch them play 162 games with no penalty in performance. |
I know, there isn't much to the game, it would be a whole lot better if you could do trades..
What? since when did my team (wyandotte) become avalible????
I think that they were available at the end of last year, but I could be wrong...
Dola-
Oh, wait, they're not available. Sorry to scare you, JeffNights. I'm not sure why I was thinking that they were... |
JeeberD is drunk
Had to do something to make dinner bearable tonight...
Wine...and the tour of Italy:)
Actually, we went to Bahama Breeze (which is owned by Olive Garden's parent company) and I had a dish named after you. Jerk Chicken Pasta... :)
Shitweasel :D
Why is everybody ripping off Stephen King???
He has enough $
No one can ever have enough cash.
Oh, wait, I said that money was overrated earlier, didn't I? Crap... |
as long as food is on my table and a roof is over my head i am happy :)
Apparently, since you're too cheap to spring for a DSL... :)
i don't even wanna try dsl...or else my dial up will be real slow...right now i don't know what i'm missing :)
Tee hee, I can post circles around you, turtle-boy...
yum...i like turtles
turtle cheesecake rules!!!
Oooohhh yes it does :)
threadjacker |
i just called up my #1 draft pick from last seasons draft...a 24 yo left handed pitcher...i will rocket into first place now :)
Wow, you're actually in second place right now. Keep that up and you'll make the playoffs!!!
Edit: I lost my last game to fall into a tie for first place in the league... :( |
i still have a losing record:(
and i think my whole division is bot teams :) |
Who cares if you have a losing record. Stay in second and the playoffs are yours...
heehee
cheap...but i'll take it :) |
Cheap is the way you like things, isn't it???
yes.. like my women
Another series sweep of the Mississippi bbors. How sweet it is...
Prick :D
I think we are the only 2 still playing:) |
I play . . . some. Dammit.
L.B REPRESENTIN!!
Asshat
wooooooooooooooooooooooooord! :)
HELL YEAH!!!
today is the first time I had checked in several days, wow I'm doing bad...
I'm still playing too
We need 8 owners..anyone know anybody that wants in?
Missed the draft. Got junk people. Loosing interest rapidly, as that's the only intriguing part of the game right now. Loosing owners. .
Damn you |
Quote:
Dude, what's up with that one guy you have who has 44 homers half way through the season. That's freakin insane... |
Steroids
Just cause your team doesn't have anyone with more than 19 homers doesn't mean he's juiced up.
Though that could be a viable explaination... |
I am small.,......and fast :)
errrr....my team is at least :)
Quote:
probably, but he's slowing down now |
Still alive and kickin....just around .500
my team sucks so badly:(:(
Ugh, down to a three game lead over Connecticut. We gotta do better than this...
BBors rule :)
Whatever, Tom Sawyer... ;)
We lost a lot of people very quickly...
I'll keep playing as long as it's free, but it doesn't hold anywhere near as much of my attention as SimDynasty does. If there are enough people here interested in forming a league there, I'd be up for setting up a custom Dynasty League. I'm not sure how many people here are playing, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's not free, but considering the amount of fun I've had with it I don't mind the cost.
For a custom league we'd need 16 owners, and I think for 20 seasons it would be something like $20. I'm in a custom league right now that runs 15 games per day, but we could run something a bit slower like 12 or 9 if that suits people. I like getting through seasons faster - it makes the player development and team-building aspects more enjoyable for me. Any takers? |
I'd be interested, but the rate at which this blew up, and it's free. . .
Sim Dynasty?
Quote:
That's why with a custom league I'd have everybody pay for 20 seasons upfront, with rules stating if anyone doesn't check-in for a week they're out, no refund (unless they notify everyone ahead of time that they'll be gone). Quote:
www.simdynasty.com It's an online baseball sim. You can play single-season leagues for free, or multiple season leagues for $. Drafting and trading work, the game is reasonably well-balanced and constantly being improved by an active developer who's open to suggestions and feedback. Edited to correct formatting |
The bbors lose the season series to the Vatos 11-1. So after last years season sweep, the Vatos have taken 23 of the last 24 games versus the bbors. :)
Hopefully this year the Vatos will actually do something in the postseason, though... |
I will kick your ass in the play-offs...uhh..if i make it:D
Congrats to the Mississigua (or however you spell the damn town) bbor's on making the playoffs for the first time! Hopefully you can take out the Grand Salamis, I can exact my revenge on Wyandotte for beating me last year, and they I'll be able to continue my domination of those silly bbors (23 out of the last 24!!!)...
Bbors uber alles!!
man, I haven't checked this in so long...
I wonder how my team did... |
ouch, 78-80, oh well
Vatos up 2-0 in the first round versus Wyandotte. (WooHoo!!)
bbors and grand salamis are tied at one game apiece (Go bbors!!!) Phlegm up 2-0 on the Mullets and last but not least, perenial powerhouse Brittany Celtics are up 2-0 on the Cincinatti Aviators |
This game would be so much better if we could make trades...
Damn...a 12 inning win:)
woohoo |
Postseason update....
El Paso Vatos defeat Wyandotte Wolveries 4 games to 1. Seattle Grand Salamis are up 3 games to 2 on the Miss. bbors. The Foxboro Phlegm defeated the Marylands Mullets 4 games to 1. The Cincinatti Aviators have come back to win three games in a row and have the powerhouse Brittany Celtics on the ropes, 3 games to 2... |
We now have 2 series tied at 3
bbors defeat the Grand Salamis 6-1 Celtics defeat the Aviators 7-2 Still alive babe ! |
Go bbors!!!!
Hmmm, root for the defeat of the Yankees of our league and a changing of the guard, or to root for the owner who seems to be more active in the league. Decisions, decisions, decisions... |
Game 7!!!
Woohgooo |
El Paso and Brittany are both up three games to one in their respective conferences semi-finals.
Go Vatos!!! |
WOOOhoo.....i plan on being there...once eveyone else drops out:D
:D
I will still own you, even then!!! :D |
Bastid....my season would be complete if i could just sweep you :)
Well, you DID win The Rubber the first season. Since then it's just been down hill for you, huh? ;)
even though my team is better now than then...go figure eh?
Quote:
Well, my team is better as well, as you can tell by the fact that we have made the finals for the first time. El Paso will face the Brittany Celtics (who are in their third consecutive finals series) for the CSFBL FOFC crown. The first game starts in less than an hour. GO VATOS!!!! |
Celtics are the Braves of the Csfbl :)
Better than the bbors being the Royals of the CSFBL... :)
Braves ? we're the yankees ;)
first game : a pitchinng battle won by the Celtics, Bernie Emerick (6.0 IP 5 H 2 SO 1 HR 1 ER) and rookie Lee Spafford (3.0 IP 0 H 0 ER 2 SO) combine for a 2-1 victory over the Vatos, SS Jimmy Baker allowed RF Jose Dunlap and 1B David Johnson to score with a double in he first inning. |
Hey now...i've never gone 12-0 out of the gate:)
What an exciting ending to game two of the CSFBL FOFC Worlf Series. Britanny lead 7-5 going into the ninth inning, but El Paso's star player Kevin Alston hit a double to center. Robert Gamboa flew out, and then Donald Thiel hit a single to center. Robert Dillon then hit a fielders choice to second, so there are men on first and third with two outs. It looked grim for the Vatos. But then James Gardner hit a single to left, bringing in Alston. 7-6 Britanny, men on second and third. Stud catcher Luyis Cohen then came up to bat and nailed a double to left field, bringing home Dillon. Oh, and wait, Gardner hustles his ass off and scores from first on the double! El Paso wins 8-7!!!! What a rally and what a game for the Vatos!!!!!
Game 3 : 11th inning, a single by Cory Daniel allows Robert Dillon to score the winning run. With 2 players on base, Rhoads (SO), Baker (BB), Emerson (SO) and Polk were unable to even the score against Elmore. Vatos 4 - Celtics 3
Game 4 : The game was already over after the first inning won 6-1 by the Celtics, great pitching by Michael Gonzales (5 H 1ER 5 K) and great hitting by Kenneth Roads ( 1 2B 1 HR 4 RBI) and Benjamin Emerson (2 2B 5 RBI). Celtics 15 - Vatos 1 Game 5 : Relief pitching killed the Vatos, Patton, Elmore, Maples and Web combined for 8 H and 7 ER in just 2.0 innings while reliever Gary Duquette was winning the game. Celtics Jason Cox and Vatos James Gardner were explosive in that game : 2HR 5RBI. Celtics 11 - Vatos 8 Game 6 : Another pitching battle won by Bernie Emerick (6 1/3 IP 1 ER 4 K), Kenneth Roads bringing the offensive power needed (1 HR 3 RBI). Celtics 3 - Vatos 1 THE CELTICS WIN THE WORLD SERIES |
:( :( :(
I'll get you next season... |
