Want to Check in on my Huntington's Disease?

Wanna follow my current HD?

I talk about my HD here. I am also considering creating a sub-channel where I talk about HD once/week on Wednesday.

Great stuff Abe, thanks for sharing. I think you are right on about having a way of documenting things over time. It could provide clues and data that may help researchers, and also can provide insight to others who are also diagnosed and are traveling the same path.

You look to be still be doing very well, and hope that you are able to keep continuing what you've been doing for as long as you can. Like you said, leave no regrets!

Thank you for sharing.

+1, in particular the documenting of everything over time.

Edward64 02-03-2020 08:17 PM

I'm not sure why but was not able to hear audio on my desktop. But I reiterate what the others are saying - thanks for sharing (and staying positive)

JPhillips 02-03-2020 09:21 PM

Take care. From the outside it seems pretty amazing that it is progressing so slowly. It's brave to document the whole thing. If we can help, don't hesitate to ask.

Mizzou B-ball fan 02-05-2020 03:41 PM

Very brave to come out and document it. Keep it up!

BYU 14 02-05-2020 06:40 PM

Wow, kudos for sharing that takes courage and agree, very good idea to document. All the best my friend

Mike Lowe 02-05-2020 10:34 PM

Great stuff, Abe. I think you documenting this is a great way to help others but also yourself, as you mentioned. Inspirational work here, sir.

Don't know if y'all saw but here is my follow up on my meds, Austedo. And it's giant, high cost!

What else could I be? :) If you are familiar with StrengthsFinder, then you'll understand this - my 2nd top strength is Positivity.

Yup!

AlexB 02-12-2020 02:12 PM

Just watched the first two and wanted to chime in - you speak in a way that naturally engages the viewer and makes a really personal subject, about a condition which I had not previously heard of, engaging.

Kudos, and hope the insurance company steps up!

AlexB 02-12-2020 02:39 PM

And after #3 I can see why you come across so well - you’re a certified G!

A few things on this last one:

Really like the tie!

If you ever have a film about your life, Toby Maguire needs to play you!

The memory thing’s difficult - a lot of what you mentioned about having to make lists, getting people to email you rather than remembering tasks, forgetting things, some of that’s possibly just getting older too - I’m 2-3 years older and I’m similar in this particular regard: but I was never a 145 IQ and double post grad top student!
It would be interesting to know, but impossible to find out how much of this is the HD and how much it’s just getting older.

Again, really interesting and insightful stuff.

Arles 02-12-2020 02:59 PM

This is one of the more impressive things that I have seen. Abe, it is amazing that you are doing this - not only to document it for yourself (and family), but also to help others dealing with it. I will be following along and wish you the best!

Daang Abe, you're a sharp dresser! omg, that tie, I mean c'mon!!! You look great. It's nice to finally put a face with a name :)

It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there and I think you're incredibly brave. Thanks for letting us follow in your journey.

And also, you mentioned not even having 250 followers. Well you now have 267 ;)
