Monopoly is my favorite board game, but I think I might play it once every two or three years. I honestly do not know of anyone that plays it more than once a year.

i like monopoly, but can't remember ever actually finishing a game.

The car is what I am most often, but I also like the dignity and gravitas of the top hat.

I like to be the dog, that way as I move I can make high pitched barking sounds. Or if I have to go jail, a wanton groan. Sometimes the car so I can go vroom vroom.

I have an older brother ~12 years my senior (well, and two other siblings even older, but they were out of the house before I got "serious" about Monopoly.) The first time I won a game in which he participated, I was the Hat. I've played as the Hat in virtually every game since then.

Oh, and I'd never heard it called the "Top Hat" until these threads showed up.

My grandfather had an old Monopoly set from the 1930s and it had my all-time favorite piece, a giant howitzer. Now that blows away any top hat, dog or car!

When my brother and I played, I was always the battleship and he was always the cannon.

I was a Monopoly junkie when I was a kid, and I never saw, or knew of, the battleship. Weird.

Always the wheelbarrow. Need something to cart around my gobs of cash in.

Car was my first choice, Top Hat and Dog were my fallbacks
