1853 FFP Auction & RFA Designations
If you have a guy who just became a FA and want to RFA him, please list here before tonight's sim.
just want to confirm... these are only for those with no franchise player?
Correct, you can only FFP/RFA if you don't currently have a FRANCHISE player.
Or maybe even better, since teams have so much this year, we can let teams that have a FRANCHISE guy buy access to FFP/RFA for this year only.
WOOO!
Washington will RFA William Messer. |
Ok, teams with FRANCHISE players can buy into RFA/FFP this year for $25 million in cap space. You need to indicate that you're buying access.
For this year, Age 17 and under players are FFP eligible. That might stick, since the players are older now. But for right now, we'll just say its for this year.
Also the $25m charge for FRANCHISE teams is for access to both. So it's $25m total. (Not $50m) And no, you don't get your money back if you opt against bringing back your RFA or you whiff on any FFPs you bid on.
Nevermind that blind bid thing. Post your FFPs bids here.
Clerical note, the rule is always that a player is FFP eligible, so long as he was the age (17) during the season. So under those conditions, the following 18-year olds are FFP eligible. (There might be others, I'm just indicating the ones who are good enough)

It's actually not written anywhere on an FFP thread, as it turns out. I went to look for it. But I know I've mentioned it before and there was at least one time when I've actually invoked it. This is just the rare time where teams put out a bunch of bids (on actual good players) and they just weren't bumped off. I mean, even I forgot. But it does answer a bit of the problem of bid sniping. Because I know a few of us were waiting until the last minute to see where the auction went to make our decisions. |

Memphis withdraws on Davey Jones and Pat Eck. $84MM on Boles.
I suspected that might happen...Hmm..
Columbus bids $100MM on Boles
Hahaha..and now the fun really begins.
Out of curiosity, does this mean my $84MM (and your $70MM) are wasted? Or are we free to spend that cash elsewhere now?
I'm not YD, but I've done this before, and yes, you guys are free to spend that cash elsewhere
Unless that rule has been changed recently, but I'm not aware of it
Quote:
Technically, he can still withdraw his offer and if he does, the last available offer gets accepted unless the offer is formally withdrawn. But conversely, yeah, we can spend they money we allocated to Boles elsewhere now. Except on anyone we've renounced. You can't go back and re-offer on a guy you've withdrawn on though. Or else, this would get even messier. |
Quote:
That's what I suspected. It's only fair to have to stay out on guys you've already withdrawn on. |
Columbus offers SLOT on SP Josh Moore and CL Pat Eck
