Thinking about FEAR and maybe snag a couple AssCreed games. Would probably bite on AoE III if it was cheaper. Nothing really crazy for me right now.
Metro 2033 is great for those that don't have it and have the systems for it. Heard good things about Cave Story. |

just had one of those stupid OCD moment minutes ago. I had convinced myself I would not buy Shogun 2 in any of its variation. But then, the martial artist and Japan enthusiast in me won out and I not only got the vanilla version but the complete pack for $19.99. And with about only 90 seconds to go on that flash sale clock. Take that you Steam flash sale clock!!! Sigh... Hopefully I find a couple hours to get a bit of my money's worth out of it ;) FM |
5 bucks for Fear 3. Yet another game to play. Couldn't resist Dear Esther for 2.49.
|
Hoping Mirror's Edge goes on sale for 75% off through the voting. Looks like an awesome game.
|
Quote:
Mirror's Edge is an excellent game. |
wow, they're putting two big names up for vote: COD:MW3 vs Skyrim...
FM |
I loved Mirror's Edge. I play it through again on occasion, just real fun. Still holding out hope for a sequel.
|
Quote:
My bet is the RPG vote gets split between Skyrim and Deus Ex and MW3 walks with it. |
Civ 5 back to 75% in the flash deals section...
FM |
Quote:
It did get the vote Grover in case you didn't know. Selling for $4.99 |
Quote:
Indeed! Already jumped on it. I want Portal 2 to drop back down to $4.99 too. |
Men of War: Vietnam is easily the best of the series, for $8.74, that's a solid purchase.
|
Okay, looking for forum advice here.
Age of Empires III complete for $10? EUIII Complete for $9? or EUIII Chronicles for $18? I loved AOE2, though I was the resource and tech guy in any successful multiplayer alliance (left the fighting to the other guys as much as possible). I love creating my own "win conditions" (taking on BSR teams in FM, etc.), which makes EUIII seem appealing for all those tiny principalities. Also know jack about the two extra expansions (Heir to the Throne and Divine Wind) in the costlier EUIII package. Any suggestions? |
Quote:
I did vote for MW3 just in hope that it would extend to the MW2. I don't really want to spend $30 for MW3 at 50% but would certainly appreciate a 75% on MW2. Doubt it though, it remained at 25% when MW3 was on the daily deal list on day 1. FM |
Quote:
Yeah, unlikely it'd extend. But I do expect MW3 to win this vote. |
Welp, EUIII is a flash sale until about 11am EDT. $3.75 for Complete, $7.50 for Complete + the later 2 expansions. I bit. (Now I just have to avoid playing for 9 days.)
|
Finally got Civ V and all expansions and Men of War. Now i just need a bigger HD in my macbook to install them and some time to play games.
|
Quote:
Skyrim actually won so we won't know for now :) FM |
is EUIII good? should i get the DLC too?
|
For some lame reason EU 3 can't be purchased by the Steam app on iOS. Oh well, guess they lose out on my money.

Did you try ordering through their website on safari? Their mobile website looks just like their app but I was able to add that game to my cart from their. FM |
A reminder for anyone interested in Sniper Elite V2 on the Steam flash deal, you can still get it on Amazon for $10 less than it is on Steam. Plus buying it through Amazon gives you a key to activate on Steam.
Amazon.com: Sniper Elite V2 [Online Game Code]: Video Games |

I'm not too familiar with how amazon works other than it's not available to canadians. This game also has a note of amazon that gifting is not available for this item. My son is interested in this game and $15 would better than $25. Anybody knows if it's possible in any way to send the key to a canadian fella? FM |

Might have to pick Limbo up, looks great.
|
Nothing really jumps out at me today.
Might pick up Wargame although the 50% doesn't impress me. Consider Binary Domain. Maybe Stronghold. Going to read up on Stronghold first, though. |
Quote:
I very much enjoyed Limbo. It isn't a particularly long game, but the scenery, atmosphere and puzzles were all very well done. |
Quote:
It's a stunning game, no doubt. Just not for me. I don't tend to like platformers or puzzle games. I think I lost interest before I ever figured out how to get past the first puzzle. |
Platformers give me a big rubbery one.

I'm not sure I know what that means and I'm fine keeping it that way. |
In other news, none of my games will sync with the Steam Cloud, rendering them useless to play at the moment. Is Steam that busy?
|
Quote:
One of their central data servers went down which lead to problems playing Dota 2, so it may have hit Steam Cloud service too. You should still be able to play though, Steam Cloud for most game saves both on your PC and online so you have your save locally. The service also checks to see if your local save is more recent than the cloud save and if that is the case it shouldn't replace your local save without asking if you want to. Unless of course you're continuing a game from a different PC than you were last time. Steam Cloud seems to be working for me, so hopefully it's back up for you or will be soon. |
Restarting Steam did the trick.

As Limbo is a platformer/puzzle game, I think I can see where you wouldn't like it. :) |
Quote:
I run into that every once in a while, especially when they are busy |

Exactly. I love the look and design though. |

lol me. Just voted for the Oblivion GOTY. We'll see what wins THIS time. |
I voted for Oblivion too although having bought Skyrim, I have little interest in getting it...
FM |
I couldn't imagine going back to Oblivion after playing Skyrim.
|

well, when the sale started I had both on my wishlist. When Skyrim dropped to 50% I decided to go for it and pay the $30 instead of going for the previous version that could be available for a mere $5 in a few hours... FM |
and speaking of Skyrim, it is currently being downloaded and installed on my new laptop. :)

Very happy I picked up The Walking Dead. Absolutely loved the first episode. The feel of the game is perfect, they did a great job integrating quick decision making into a point and click adventure and the characters were very well done. Was a little worried when I first came across someone from the comics/tv show, but even that worked out well.
|
The nice thing about Steam sales is I get to look at my wishlist, see games listed for $1.99, still feel no urge to buy them, and thus I went and did a near clean purge. I go and add a couple in.
|
Jumped in on Dragon Age Origins at $4.99 with 20 seconds left. Woowoo.
|
I'm in for about $50 this year, which is pretty good, I think.
Nothing I was tremendously excited about, but some games I wanted to give a shot at a steep discount. Having said that, I picked up Saints Row 3. I'm not really into the whole GTA/be-a-gangsta gaming thing, but I've had entirely too much fun ignoring the script, firing up a bunch of cheats and just killing shit/blowing shit up. I might not ever actually play the game itself (apparently, there's a plot or something), but as a $10 stress ball, it seems like money well-spent at this point. I did the same thing with one of the GTA games a few years ago (one set in Miami, if I remember correctly)...and that was sort of a hoot, but SR3 is just so much more over-the-top, it's like they're begging you to use the cheat menu and find creative ways to just kill things. |
Got Gratuitous Space Battles and Gratuitous Tank Battles for just over 10$.
|
The soaked me for another $7.50 yesterday on Dragons Age (Ultimate). I'm looking forward to this one.
|
Just picked up Galactic Civilizations II for $4.99, downloading now. Anybody else have it?
If anybody else is interested, you have three hours to go. |
Quote:
Saw it yesterday, was tempted, then told myself I had spent enough. Then woke up this morning, still telling myself it was enough. Went to work and decided the whole Ultimate version was quite a good deal and bought it with the Steam app on my iPhone... sigh :) All in all, after spending no more than maybe 10 bucks on each of the last 2 or 3 Steam sales, I'm up to $100 so far for about $340 of stuff at regular price. Giggled like a little kid when playing Tropico 4. I know I'll have these little moments for a little while as I get accustomed to all the new games I just added to my library: Tropico 4, Skyrim, Civ 5, Assassin's Creed (first one), Dragon Age, Recettear, L4D2, Shogun 2, Witcher 1, FM2012... FM |

I've had this game for years. If you like the Civ franchise, you'll enjoy GalCiv. It's a little dated these days, but still great. |
