The Career of Mike Monroe (TCY/FOF)

I've tried a few times to make a dynasty that follows a single player throughout his career. After much trial and error, I've decided to follow a guy that not only has a good chance of getting drafted, but also is set to get a good amount of playing time in college. Otherwise, they just ride the bench while I think of other things to write about.

So with this dynasty, I hope to keep things interesting enough while following the player's career from college to the draft and (hopefully) beyond. I'll start in 2004, with the NFL running in the background in FOF. I won't be making any personnel decisions of any kind, I'm only observing. Whatever happens, happens.

#12 MIKE MONROE, Quarterback

University of Washington
6'2", 182 lbs
Olympic Heights Community HS (Boca Raton, Florida)

RATINGS:
OVR: 14/96
Screen: 4/100
Short: 0/100
Medium: 0/100
Long: 0/70
Deep: 12/100
3rdDown: 90
Int's: 1/100
YpT: 7/93
Scramble: 54
Fumbles: 63

The difference between his current and potential ratings is staggering. If everything goes right, his upside is sky-high. He was redshirted as a freshman in 2003, and this year he'll start out as 2nd string QB, behind junior Terry Walz (25/64). Walz still has a lot of room to improve, so hopefully Mike gets some playing time this season should Walz struggle.

Here's Washington's 2004 schedule (they're currently ranked #23 in the top 25):

2 vs. Fresno State
4 vs. UCLA
5 @ Notre Dame
6 @ Stanford
7 vs. San Jose State
8 vs. Oregon State
9 @ USC
10 @ Oregon
11 vs. Arizona
12 vs. California
13 @ Washington State

2005-Week 2

WEEK 2
vs. Fresno State

I guess the coach changed his mind, because Mike was moved up to 1st string QB before the game.

Washington won the toss, and elected to receive.

On 2nd&11, Mike threw his first college pass to WR Trevor Strong. It was completed for 16 yards and a 1st down. In the first drive, Mike connected with Strong all 4 times he threw to him, for a total of 52 yards. Oh yeah, and the last pass was a touchdown to put Washington up 7-0 quickly.

Washington beat Fresno State 41-17, a great way to start Mike's career. Here's his gamelog after the first game: (I'll post a new one every time he plays):

2005
Week 4 vs. UCLA (L, 17-27)
(1-1, 0-1)

Washington lost their first conference game of the year. Mike got the start again. He threw a crucial interception in the 2nd quarter, which turned into a touchdown for UCLA. He connected with Trevor Strong for a TD in the 4th quarter, but too little, too late. Though he didn't have a TD today, WR Phil Wallman had a good day, catching the ball 4 times for 118 yards. (Over half of Mike's passing yards were caught by Wallman)

2005
Week 5 @ Notre Dame (L, 10-55)
(1-2, 0-1)

Not much to say about this one. Mike was 12/40 in passing attempts for an ugly 30%. He did get one touchdown, but this game is definitely going to hurt his season numbers. I can't really think of anything else to mention; it was pretty much all negative. Oh well, Washington gets a chance to help their record in Week 6 when they travel to face Stanford. Mike's still the starter, hopefully he gets back on the right track.
