Leduc Second Baseman Chosen Best Rookie
Thursday, November 4th, 2202 Today the Continental League announced the winner of the 2202 Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award. The top-ranked rookie was the talented Leduc second baseman Aniceto Bree. The 22-year-old Bullets newcomer took the trophy by hitting .330 in 156 games this season and finished with 208 hits, 2 home runs, 49 RBIs and 88 runs scored. López Crowned RL Top Rookie Thursday, November 4th, 2202 The top-rated rookie for 2202 in the Republic League has been selected and the honor went to Ann Arbor third baseman Pedro López. It was a season to remember for the 23-year-old Winged Lingerines newcomer. He wrapped up his first year with a .271 batting average, 27 doubles, no triples and 22 home runs. López also had 74 RBIs and scored 73 times. |
CL Presents Top Pitcher Trophy
Saturday, November 6th, 2202 In 2202, the premier pitcher in the Continental League was Bartolo Chávez. The Napa Valley starter is this year's recipient of the Gabriel Prado Award. He went 21-8 in 39 starts with 164 strikeouts in 234.1 innings and an impressive 2.27 ERA. RL Gives Best Pitcher Award Saturday, November 6th, 2202 23-year-old Noah Tremblay of the Tokyo Catfish put together a good year in 2202 for such a young player. Tremblay was named today as the winner of the Republic League Gabriel Prado Award. Tremblay crafted an impressive 19-8 record and a 2.89 ERA. In 218 innings he allowed 188 hits, struck out 188, and walked 58. |
CL Awards Hideaki Tanaka Award, Peralta Gets Prize
Sunday, November 7th, 2202 Francisco Peralta of the Apex Assassins proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award. Peralta hit for a .305 average while collecting 185 hits, 30 doubles, 3 triples, 28 home runs, 66 RBIs and scoring 105 times. RL Top Hitter, 2202 Choice Is Rodríguez Sunday, November 7th, 2202 Aurelio Rodríguez has plenty of options after winning the Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award for 2202 today. The soon-to-be free agent compiled a .324 batting average and a .373 on-base percentage this year while pummeling the opposition with 205 hits, 36 doubles, 3 triples, 42 home runs and 143 RBIs. |

Considering how long we have been terrible, I have a ton of young cheap talent already in the bigs and coming up shortly. That's one of the reasons both deals are only for four years - they're not long term cap crippling. By the time my own young talent gets expensive, these two are gone.
