Won't deny that I'm happy to see that we're the #1 farm system, even if it's temporary.

Young Drachma 09-26-2008 09:54 PM

I need something to drink. But I'll sim a month and then go get some nourishment and something to clear my throat.

kaosfere 09-26-2008 09:54 PM

DC, I just sent one last minute export. Could you be sure you grab it? Pleeeease?

(I didn't actually change anything from my final decisions, I'm just not sure I ever sent my final version up since I was watching the debate.)

I was gonna say this is like the first season in like 6 seasons that I didnt have the top farm system. Hoping that means my talent has graduated to the big league team :)

oops. I did get your final version, if it was sent in the last 3 or 4 minutes, since I did all of the imports at that time. But probably not this one you just sent..

dola...

:banghead:

Anthony 09-26-2008 10:02 PM

well, it's only June, and we're only 5.5 games out of 1st. i'm expecting a slump for the next 2 months, then we rebound towards the end to ensure we don't wind up with a nice draft pick. YAY

kaosfere 09-26-2008 10:03 PM

DC, if you don't mind, and for my own sanity, can you tell me if my rotation is Yamada-Ortiz-Simpson-Saito-Braun, strict order, in what you have?

If not, at least I can know that I just botched the season with a screwup, instead of having my best plans being failures. ;)

muns 09-26-2008 10:04 PM

How about NO with 32 wins in the RL...... Making me eat what I said earlier in the week

Thanks Kaos. I think I need that advice in life in general.

kaosfere 09-26-2008 10:10 PM

There are no words.

ALAN!

muns 09-26-2008 10:11 PM

Seriously can we as a whole body just vote Alans teams off the island or something???

Chief Rum 09-26-2008 10:11 PM

Just a reminder, DC. If we reach the final game of the season for Atlanta and it is a meaningless game (which seems likely right now, thanks to Alan), please start Gabriel Prado in place of whoever is there. Best remove him from mopup duties, too, with about five days left to be sure he has his strength.

I would like to see Prado go out a starter.

P.S. Watch him take a contract and keep going, the ageless wonder. ;)

Young Drachma 09-26-2008 10:14 PM

Gladly, Chief. Will do.

Good to see New York doing well. Great work has been done there to get them back to respectability. I'm impressed.

Anthony 09-26-2008 10:14 PM

it'll all catch up. all these good teams prevent him from being able to draft uber studs. just like with the Yankees of the 90's. so Valdosta is in a good era. era's come and go. its good having a "team to beat". too much parity cheapens the championships cuz then you have a different winner every year and we all take turns being the champion. it's better this way. at least Valdosta provides a great obstacle for the other teams to overcome.

muns 09-26-2008 10:14 PM

Baltimore turned it around after that bad start...

TurnerONU22 09-26-2008 10:14 PM

Man, we're not looking so good this season. I guess staying with the team that got you the championship wasn't the way to go.

Chief Rum 09-26-2008 10:15 PM

Curious if my Firecrackers are being flukey again. What's my Pyth record +/- right now?

Anthony 09-26-2008 10:16 PM

does everyone have the AI set the lineups throughout the season or do you have a static lineup/staff order? i don't have the AI doing it cuz i'm afraid of some screwy moves being done and me not having a chance to undo the screwiness.

muns 09-26-2008 10:16 PM

I dont think Alan is gonna go anywhere anytime soon. There is enough good guys in FA now to fill holes..... His system just works.... Im gonna be real interested in seeing where Chief comes into this once he gets 4-5 years there, and gets his guys in place.....

That league has some good guys running teams over there. Its no joke

looks like its gonna be Long Island/Colorado brawling over bragging right for 2nd best in the RL. oh well.

Young Drachma 09-26-2008 10:17 PM

Chicago has the youngest lineup, average age is 24.5
Colorado has the youngest staff at 25.7

It seems funny to say, as I am part of what you're saying here, but I am pretty curious myself how that will work out. Frankly, I don't know if I am good enough to beat out Alan. He's scary good at what he does. I could just be setting myself up to be a perennial bridesmaid.

either that, or they don't have good enough GMs to give the lone superpower much of a fight. what made the Yankees so great during their dynasty was due to their great players and manager, for sure, but let's just say having Tampa Bay (the Devil Rays version, that is) does wonders for one's W/L record. and Toronto and Baltimore were hampsters running in place in a wheel, taking turns for 3rd best in the division.

nah, check August standings, Violators are out of it (14 games back) and seem to be losing out to Colorado for 2nd best. we gave it a good fight for a better part of the summer at least. :banghead:

Suspense is running high in NY as the team got off to a strong start and seems to be in a dog day afternoon. Hopefully I just had like, the whole month of July with Valdosta on the schedule. The fans and I will be very excited to crack .500 this year if it happens.

Good thing we're not like "ordinary" leagues and run our season over a month or two. Imagine how boring it would be if we did that with this? FOOL is like weekly crack.

I play 6 vs VAL and 4 vs BAL in August. If there's a month to make a run, this has to be it for me. Otherwise, back to third (or worse).
