I'm going to have to drop from the list until I get some kind of (moderately) consistent sleep schedule for my daughter.

LSG and I would like to co-host a game at some point in the future.

I'm going to put up the next game sign up list this weekend. I'll likely take sign ups through the 4th and start the game on the 5th, but I'll take a poll as people sign up and if everyone wants to play through the 4th we can.

I dont remember if I have ever played with Tanglewood before, but I am definitely looking forward to his game. Ge and I are excited about our game... although we haven't decided on a topic just yet :D

Please re-add me to the end of the list, I should have my next game (Wall street raider) ready by that time (i hope!)

so anybody want to throw out some ideas for GE and my game? We want to do something that might attract new people, maybe some of the females of FOFC. Its going to be our first games to host, so we want something relatively simple, but not too simple. I would like something in between the Marvel comics and Survivors games, and the Seville high/bowl of red games. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Attract girls? You could have Boy Band werewolf then? :)

In all seriousness.. I would target a theme that you and GE both enjoy. It can almost be anything.. a tv show that you both like, or a movie, or books, or video game or whatever..

Once you get a theme in mind, you would want to create a ruleset/environment for it. In almost any theme you pretty much have some kind of hero and some kind of villan, and that is what you base your good guys and bad guys from. I'd be more than happy to help you all with ideas if you want, but I think the key to having a great game at the start is picking a theme you'll have passion with. It doesn't have to be super complex to be a great game. :)

One suggestion of mine is to think about something in WW that you would like to see happen, a mechanic if you will. My treasure hunter game started around money while To Crown a King around the idea of rewarding good decision making. This can be an alternative to deciding a theme and going from there (which is a good way of planning a game as well).

Going off the "TV show" idea, I would love to figure out a way to do "24". Ardent already did "Lost". Something like "Heroes" or "Sopranos" would probably have some new player appeal ...

I've been thinking of doing one with a Clue theme.

Hoopsguy in the library with the candlestick holder.

I find it's easy for newer players to have a theme they can identify with. I always try to use something mainstream. I thought the saw game went well. I have been considering an alias themed game.

Those are good suggestions.... the games that we both love are generally XBox games, although GE loves Football Manager and Hattrick but I am not a huge soccer fan. What about Saints Row... we both used to play the crap out of that. Do you think that would interest some non WW people?

I don't suppose path or CR would like to trade down. I'd like to run my next game before school starts.

I did pm Rum, this morning. Pass said he didn't mind switching with me, so I would like to take spot 1. I'll let Rum and Pass work out who gets spots 2 and 3.

Well Rum would have to be ok for you to jump over him as well. If he's ok we'll just move you to 1, and drop down Pass to 2 and Rum to 3.

I'm willing to start a sign up thread, but I don't know how long tangle's game is going to go, so I don't know when it will start.

I agree that we can wait until Tangle's game has ended so people have a better sense of when it will start and their availability.

Would anyone object if I ran the game after st.cronin's? :)

I have a feeling, since I'm second on the GM list, that my "turn" may come up when I'm on vacation from August 17th-26th. If that does happen, feel free to have the next person go ahead of me and then I'll run my game after theirs.

Looks like my IM conversation with BK was considered binding. I'm looking forward to getting back in the moderating mix whenever my turn comes around.

Lathum is technically up, but I have a feeling we'll be skipping down to path who is ready to go. Lathum has been PM'ed to see if he's ready to go or not, so we'll see.

One thing for me running the next game -- I'm in Vegas from the 30th through Labor Day -- so if I'm up we would either need to run through the weekend or I would need some GM assistance over that period.

If he hasn't replied by this afternoon I'd go ahead and post your thread. Give him a couple more hours. I'd normally say to give someone more but with his real life issues, I think it's far more likely he doesn't have time or mental energies to host a game at this point. My thoughts and wishes continue to go out to him and Molly.

he should be driving from NYC to cincinnati all day today...they were planning on coming home...i will try his cell after dinner and see where he is at with this.

Because of the holiday and because I have some other things tying me up this week, I can't start my game this week. And the following week is a problem too since I'm going to be out of town for a few days. So I'll plan to start my game on the 17th. If someone wants to go ahead of me in that time, they're welcome to.

I really think someone should. I'd like to see a game this week.

I can start my game this week, the deadlines may be a little static because of my schedule this week but I should be able to swing it.
