WW XCII -- Signups, Announcements, Questions, Initial City Info
The rules are on my computer in the office, so I can't post them entirely, but here's the basic plot: You will start the game in one of the two cities of Athens and Sparta. When you die, you will go to Hades. Each of Athens, Sparta, and Hades will have a thread devoted to it, and each place will be a game of its own. Whichever of the wolves and villagers win 2 of the 3 games will win the match.
The idea here is to prevent the tragedy of the early death -- even if you go out Day 1 or Night 1, you're still in the game and can contribute. |

Rules:
Each player will be placed in one of two cities, Athens or Sparta. There will be a thread for each city, and you may only view or post in the thread for your city. Please do not click on, or view the number of posts in a thread where you do not belong. Anyone who is killed in Athens or Sparta will go to Hades, where they have one more life. Players vote for who they want to lynch, with a deadline of 2 PM Central. Votes of ‘No Lynch’ are acceptable in Athens and Sparta, but not in Hades. In the case of ties, all the top vote-getters get lynched. Each day a player misses a vote, a one-vote penalty is added to his vote count, applied throughout the game. Nightfall votes are accepted, but players may not unvote nightfall. At the same time, the wolves may choose a player in each city to either send to Hades (if they’re in Athens or Sparta) or to kill (if they’re in Hades). To begin with, wolves will be in Athens and Sparta, so they’ll be able to choose one player in each city to send to Hades. Once a wolf arrives in Hades, the wolves may choose a player there to kill. Once there are no more wolves in either Athens or Sparta, they may not choose to send anyone in that city to Hades. Wolves are not required to choose a player in every city that they are able to. Wolves in Athens or Sparta may choose one of their own to send to Hades – however, when this happens, they will be revealed as a villager. Speaking of reveals – Reveals will happen only in the thread where the death occurred, 15 minutes after the deadline. I’m asking everyone here to please check your PMs before looking into your city thread. If you’re not sure if you’ll remember this, I believe there’s an option that pops up a reminder if you have a PM, which should help. If you’re supposed to move to a different thread, you’ll get a PM about it almost immediately at 2 PM Central. At this point, you are no longer allowed to view your ‘old’ thread – not even to catch up on what you might have missed before deadline. The game is won when either the villagers or wolves have won two of the three cities. Villagers win a city by removing it of all wolves – there will be no notification when this has happened. Wolves win a city by getting a 1-1 ratio with villagers – when this happens in Athens or Sparta, the city is destroyed, and everyone in the city travels to Hades. At any time, the people of either Athens or Sparta may decide to declare war on the other city. For war to be declared, more than 50% of a city’s population must VOTE DECLARE WAR on the same day. Unvote declare war is not accepted. Immediately upon war being declared, all players from the attacking city invades the other city, and the attacking city becomes abandoned and is ceded to the wolves. Ephors -- On Day 1, both Athens and Sparta elect an Ephor via secret ballot. Each player sends his choice to me via PM. Players may not vote for themselves. Tie goes to the player with the highest post count in the city thread, then a coin flip. Each Ephor will have the ability to change a lynch vote one time, either in their home city or in Hades. Historians – These players use their knowledge of society in this era to help them learn about one player in their city per night. Both Historians in the game are villagers, but one Historian will be evil, and win when the wolves win. Hoplites – One Hoplite will be a villager, with the ability to protect someone in the same city as them from being killed by wolves. The other Hoplite will be a wolf, with the ability to protect someone in the same city as them from being investigated by a historian – that player will appear to be something other than what they really are when a historian investigates them. Hoplites may not choose to protect themselves, and may not protect the same player two nights in a row. Marathon Runners – Two players (one villager, one wolf) will travel from one city to another instead of to Hades. They will have this ability one time (once they’ve fled a city, they will not be welcome back). This will occur automatically, but may be “turned off’ by sending me a PM. When a Marathon Runner flees a city, the city will find out that he fled, but will not learn his allegiance. Phoenix – Each city will have a Phoenix, who will return to their original city if they are killed while in Hades. When they are killed in Athens or Sparta, they will be revealed as a Phoenix, but their allegiance will not be revealed. |

PASS!!! One of these days I'm going to have a GM that likes me and then you're all screwed! Let's see, Abe turned me pink, EF votes me first every game, and Pass has attacked me. Wow, thanks guys. |
Quote:
Eh. You can look at my game as an example of how not to do it, and just make yours better. :) |
Quote:
Heh, sorry -- I just heard someone call it Purdon't and thought it was pretty funny. |
Alright, put me tentatively in, but it largely depends on how much work I get done this weekend.
|
Pass, I think you missed my sign-up in my earlier post.
|
Quote:
oopsie Anyway, I hope to get rules up around lunchtime, after I finish up some work stuff this morning. |
Wish I could but I'll gone Monday through Wednesday next week so there's probably not much point...
|
im in....

I'll turn you pink all night long |

that all pales in comparison to what Abe did to Hoops and I. And don't ask me what it was, I still can't talk about it. |

Oh, come on, now that just begs a story from one of you guys! |
Well, this was the game:
Werewolf XLIV: The Fightin’ Fundies vs. Them Gays - GAME OVER - Front Office Football Central Lathum was a wolf and he "converted" me. I did not save the PM. |
:lol::lol::lol:
|
So say if a feller were lookin' to get inta one-a these here weredywolf games, when might it get ta goin'?

The very fact there was conversion in that game at all was meta-satire. Using the WW mechanics to support he story and the satire was funny and awesome. The pm is quoted near the end after the resolution of the game, and it's funny! You should totally check it out. |

I'm thinking roles out sometime over the weekend, Day 1 ending Monday at 2 PM Central. Or would y'all prefer roles out Monday morning, Day 1 ending Tuesday at 2 PM Central? |
|
Quote:
Yeah, I have the hankerin' back. Sign me up for this one. |

I can't believe that game was over 2 years ago |
OK, just read the PM, it's pretty horrible.

Rules are up in Post #3. I don't think this concept takes away from any game you have -- there's a lot of room for different ideas here IMO. Please feel free to ask any questions -- hopefully I can get anything troublesome cleared up before we start. |
Oh my. This is going to be something else.
|
Wow, will be a crazy game, at first glance, it looks like it's going to be very tough for the village to win this.
|
How long are signups opens for?
|
Ok couple questions. What happens to the players in a city which is invaded? When a player dies in Hades are they dead dead dead?
|
Quote:
I dunno. Until the game starts? Probably Sunday or Monday. |
Quote:
A. Nothing -- they stay where they are, but the players from the attacking city join them. B. Yes, with the exception of the Phoenix. |
Will the phoneix knwo hes the fenix?
|
its gonna be tough to move to the right thread.. I mea what if you are in thread at deadline.....
|
Quote:
Heck, it's going to be tough not to accidentally click on the wrong thread in general. |
Quote:
Yes. |
Quote:
Wow, I don't mind you misspeling a word, but at least show some consistency with your speling. |
Quote:
That's why the reveal will happen 15 minutes after deadline. I'll send the PMs to people who need to move to a new thread right at deadline, and they'll have that 15 minutes to get used to the idea before I make the reveal. |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:33 PM. |
