The Curse of the Deathly Hallows **GAME OVER NANE06 WINS!**

The Game has BEGUN! All PM's have been sent. You are all standing in the lobby where the stairs to the second floor are, you must cross through the lobby to change floors, erach floor of the motel 6 is a single straight hallway with odd rooms on the left and even rooms on the right in sequential order from #01 (closest) to #25 (farthest away) The hallways are well lit and anyone can be seen entering any given room.

Each Day/Night ( 1 per game cycle) you may choose to search a room. Anything found is usable immediately.

Each night you must choose a room to sleep/stay in and you must tell me in a pm if you intend to sleep or stay awake (extended periods without sleep will affect your performance and results!)

As always PM me with any questions you don't want known to the general public.

Hello! my name is Rendaro Monmoya, you have all been accused of theft, prepare to die!

Wisked away by magical means unknown to you. You find yourself in a motel6 just outside of Waukesha, Wisconsin. The date is irrelevant.

What IS relevant is that you have all been accused of stealing the Deathly hallows. By whom is again, irrelevant. The fact is there was enough evidence to require further investigation.

You will stay in this location, locked down by powerful magic until the situation, and the Hallows are settled.

You are, who you are. Nothing more, nothing less. You might all be muggles of ill repute, greatly respected or neither. You might also be powerful wizards and witches. Who knows?

The game begins when you receive your PM, I will post deadlines as needed to further our investigation.

The Deathly Hallows are all within the game as follows:

The Wand: Allows a single spell to be cast on any given night. Anything from the Harry potter universe that is a specifically stated spell and effect, is allowed.

The Stone: Gives protection from death (IE an attack or spell casting that would kill the holder, will fail so long as the target holds the stone)

The Cloak: Makes the wearer invisible. Details and specifics will be in your PM

The object: Collect them all and become the Master of Death itself.

There may be other random objects in the game as well. The rooms of the hotel are numbered 101-125 and 201-225. yes floors matter.

mildy hunorous list of possible spells and effects

Please PM me with any questions you might have, i will answer or not answer as needed.

Signups are open. pass the word to anyone you think might be interested!

Soooooo... starting Monday?

Are we sure all the people copied from the other game still want in? Anybody else to invite?

RendeR 06-26-2020 10:49 PM

I'm sending updates/invites tonight

CrimsonFox 06-27-2020 08:22 AM

JAG and Narcizo and hoops and Lathum need to get their butts in here

timmae 06-27-2020 09:00 AM

Waukesha, WI... I remember the good ole' days back in the late 90's. We did work on the Les Paul museum at the Waukesha Historical Museum. The Wizard of Waukesha!

Not worth much, but I'll assume we got to this Motel 6 first!

RendeR 06-29-2020 09:17 AM

Aaaaannnnnd I totally forgot to send the PM's.... LOL On it now! Sorry!

RendeR 06-29-2020 09:42 AM

I will stick with the standard Deadline of 10pm to let me know what your overnight actions/choices will be. (note lynchings are not required, I leave that in the capable hands of all you morale upstanding humans.)

Autumn 06-29-2020 10:26 AM

Okay, this is wild. I'm looking at the new rule additions and now realizing this is not purely a Werewolf game, more like a dungeon crawl.

Render, do we state our moves publicly in channel or in a PM?

EagleFan 06-29-2020 10:28 AM

Checking in... vanilla.... or not?

Say my name... or don't dare?

In a house... or not?

Anyway, checking in...

timmae 06-29-2020 10:38 AM

Let the fun start! This is definitely a bit unusual. It appears that we can search each day within the thread and then send a PM each night for actions overnight. My guess is that we will want to know as much about the items in all of the rooms as possible.

britrock88 06-29-2020 11:01 AM

Hmm. Nothing about roles. Are we all vanilla?

britrock88 06-29-2020 11:03 AM

What are the mechanics of search/stay orders?

Is everyone permitted/required to provide them? (Given the suggested need for sleep, I would assume so.)

Are these orders submitted publicly or privately?

Are movements published, and when?

timmae 06-29-2020 11:16 AM

Sleep is a dynamic that we can certainly investigate N1. Maybe have a certain amount of people stay awake and then test out staying awake multiple nights once we learn more? Should we have half of us search the rooms?

Autumn 06-29-2020 11:18 AM

It seems that collectively, from the rules, we need to determine the location of the Hallows, so a group strategy to search the rooms makes sense. To answer Timmae's suggestion, I think that we can all search every day, and then all choose to sleep or stay awake, so we shouldn't need to limit searching.

timmae 06-29-2020 11:26 AM

Yep, all search. For some reason I tied the two actions together in my mind. We'll want to clear the rooms in an orderly way I think. Maybe start searching down on the 1st floor rooms 101 through 109? Then no one goes in those rooms to sleep. That way we can get as many items as possible and start eliminating rooms. We can see who goes in what room so we should be able to post a person on each floor as a look out.

timmae 06-29-2020 11:36 AM

2 Groups? Muggles and wizards/witches? There are 3 items we know of. Cloak is interesting because that person can leave their room (or switch rooms?) without anyone knowing. So crazy.

bhlloy 06-29-2020 01:36 PM

Checking in. Won’t have a chance to look at this in any detail until after work.

britrock88 06-29-2020 04:16 PM

Putting in orders to test my understanding of how this all works...

RendeR 06-29-2020 04:17 PM

Your night orders/choices etc etc can be any way you wish. if you post publicly what you're doing then everyone will see it, if you wish to do something without public knowledge them PM that info to me directly.

The deadline for telling me what/where/how your doing anything overnight is 10pm EST, after that it is assumed you are in the last room/location you posted from. (IE you have all day to wander the hotel, you may only search 1 room thoroughly each day, but that doesn't keep you want saying that you spend an hour here or an hour there.)

Whatever last location I see you in (right NOW everyone is in the lobby) that will be where you stay overnight unless you tell me otherwise by 10PM

Nane06 06-29-2020 04:18 PM

would it be better to all sleep in the same room or different rooms... being in all different rooms seems safe but i feel like we could find out who the "bad people" are sooner if we were all together bc the we could have people keep watch...

timmae 06-29-2020 04:39 PM

Search Room 109

I may be sleeping there tonight unless a dead body is in the bed.

Super helpful, thanks!

FWIW, I searched 222 (found nothing) and am sleeping in 223 tonight.

...what happens if multiple people crowd into a room for the evening? :D

Autumn 06-29-2020 05:16 PM

Hmm, this is interesting. I guess for the moment I will ...

Walk up the stairs to the second floor

I like the idea of watching others. Kills could be too easy otherwise. Room 109 is rocking.. music is loud and some will be up all night!

EagleFan 06-29-2020 05:46 PM

Search room 117

Autumn 06-29-2020 05:51 PM

I suppose if we were in rooms in pairs then if something happens we'd have a pure look at who was involved. Obviously the safest thing would be if we all moved as one group but I'm sure the ruleset will punish us from acting that carefully.

Telle 06-29-2020 06:52 PM

Checking in

What does "note lynchings are not required, I leave that in the capable hands of all you morale upstanding humans" mean?? Does that mean there are no lynchings or that it's up to us if there are or not? If it's optional and we do a lynch, what happens if that person had one of the three objects? First one to loot their corpse gets it?

I don't see anything in the posted rules about night attacks (other than if you have the wand) or stealing from anyone, so I'm very confused as to how anyone is supposed to "collect them all" unless you happen to either be lucky enough to find them all yourself or somehow convince others to give them to you (assuming giving an object to someone else is even a game mechanism).

RendeR 06-29-2020 07:35 PM

There is no specific requirement for the "village", aka you players, to kill anyone for the game to be won.

Based on what you were told in PM and what is shown here in thread, you have to decide how to move forward. The fate of the world is at stake, the Deathly hallows must be found!

RendeR 06-29-2020 07:39 PM

Up to this point and time 3 rooms have been searched, those persons have found nothing of note.

So the results of searches are given publicly?

RendeR 06-29-2020 07:47 PM

As stated anything done publicly will be responded to publicly. They each announced where they were searching.

If players do not wish to have the results publicly stated they should PM me with their activities.

RendeR 06-29-2020 07:48 PM

Player update!

There is a 10th player joining us, however she is in the limbo of FOFC registration hell =)

Kantai731 is watching and reading but cannot post or PM yet.

Autumn 06-29-2020 07:52 PM

Ooh, a ghost!

Autumn 06-29-2020 07:52 PM

Okay, interesting to know that searches happen in real time.

Autumn 06-29-2020 07:55 PM

I will sleep in room 202 folks.

I'm counting only 2 publicly stated search actions, plus one person mentioning about what they PM'd. Does just mentioning your PM'd action make the results of that action public?

Post 19 by britrock says he is sending in his action by PM
Post 22 by timmae has publicly stated search action for room 109
Post 23 by britrick says that his PM was to search room 222
Post 26 by EagleFan has publicly stated search action for room 117

Nane06 06-29-2020 08:12 PM

i would assume it might be in our best intentions to not kill anyone until we have good evidence that they are bad or otherwise we might kill any special role good people.

britrock made his PM action public (post 23)

RendeR 06-29-2020 08:22 PM

Please remember the description of the Motel. In regards to where/when/what actions you take.

Ok, so mentioning the details of what you sent as a PM'd order makes it a public order? That's an important detail.

What happens if a person sends a PM order and then says something publicly that is different than their PM? Not stating it as an order, just mentioning their PM'd order the way britrock did, but giving misinformation about the room number. Does the results of the actual search get made public, even though we don't know that it was a different room? Or do the results remain private?

RendeR 06-29-2020 08:30 PM

I cannot verify conjecture on what "may" occur. What you suggest has not happened yet.

Ok... so I guess I can remove "alleged" from my notes on britrock's posting about what he said he PM'd

Nane06 06-29-2020 08:34 PM

wouldn't saying that it has not happened yet be giving away that everyone that said things about their rooms has been truthful, basically outing that people have not lied telling us that there is nothing there when we were only going off of their word for it till now?

Telle 06-29-2020 08:34 PM

ick, that wasn't supposed to be bolded

Telle 06-29-2020 08:40 PM

RendeR, btw, unless this whole "mentioning" thing is a planned game mechanic, might I suggest you provide a standard format you want publicly stated game actions in? Such as in traditional werewolf, a lynching vote must be bolded, on its own line, and clearly stated.

RendeR 06-29-2020 08:40 PM

20 minutes till your overnight locations are set.

timmae 06-29-2020 08:42 PM

Kinda seems like RendeR and Telle may not be staying in the same room this evening. ;)

Nane06 06-29-2020 08:44 PM

I will also be sleeping in room 202 (the room Autumn is sleeping in) due to the proposed buddy system.

Funny thing.. when I first read this I thought you meant in the game and I got confused for a moment :)
