so we left off last week with Rachel and Aaron meeting up with all these other scientists/commandos with rail guns on level 11 of the tower, and the head guy telling Rachel that he wouldnt let her turn the power on...Grace explained that it might destroy the nanites and turn the power on, or it might blow up the planet, and they werent going to take the risk
fast forward to last night where Rachel drugs her friend Grace and she, Aaron, Charlie, and Nora try to get down to level 12. Nora rigs up a bomb to blow up all the scientists/commandos with rail guns, but in the course of setting it off Nora gets partially hit by a rail gun in the abdomen...(cue the first stupid part) they lock themselves in an office when they realize that Militia soldiers (now being directed by Neville, who has turned the entire army against Monroe in the course of a couple hours) are inside. Rachel knows that Nora is gonna die, but instead of going back to try to save her, insists on going forward to turn the power back on.
Charlie gives a fucking horribly written little speech about how saving Nora is more important, and Rachel basically ignores her, taking Aaron to head down to level 12. Miles now arrives (just in time to save Charlie's ass again) and they try to get Nora to the infirmary, but she bleeds out before they can get there.
Rachel and Aaron are now at the elevator to go to level 12, when they run into Neville, who is about ready to kill them when yet again, Miles shows up at the last second...a running firefight ensues where Miles one shots all the guys coming at him from 3 directions at once while none of them can hit him, but then when he shoots at Neville, he misses. (that was the next stupid part)
Our 4 heroes make it into the elevator and go down to level 12, where Aaron sits down at a random computer and follows the instructions of Rachel (who said she couldnt do it herself) despite the complicated nature of the programming "go to the root menu...go to the command line...execute the program" (seriously...that was it...super advanced technology destroyed by a dos command)
Now for the uber-stupid parts....Aaron hits enter and deactivates the nanites and within seconds, power comes back on all around the world (dont ask me where it was being generated from, or how it was being transmitted...i am sure that power stations and electrical lines were all still perfectly functional)...cut to the president of Georgia, and to Neville's and Aaron's wives reveling in their new electricity, followed by the Pres lady ordering all her tanks to march on Philly and destroy the Militia, and also to Bas standing in the middle of a field where a massive lighting display is going on (i think this was just so he could have the realization that the power was back even though he was no where near anything electric)
cut back to the tower, where our 4 heroes are still standing in the exact same spots waiting to see if they air is going to explode like Grace said it could and you hear a single gunshot...Flynn (the DoD guy) had somehow gotten down stairs and has shot the electric lock to keep him inside a bullet proof room...while in the room, and in the span of less than 2 minutes, he launches 4 ICBMs from somewhere in the midwest, targeted (2 each) at Philly and Atlanta...apparently, the 6 digit code he punched in and the one big red button he pushed were enough to launch them in a matter of minutes (because of course, they did not degrade at all since the blackout, and were already targeted at locations INSIDE the USA)...he then did a little speech about how he was eliminating both factions because he was a patriot and ends by shooting himself in the head.
cut away to the last scene, which was a dark room with a 17th century sailing ship moored outside the window and a very old american flag..enter some guy we never saw before who says "mr president, Randall Flynn has done it, we can go home"...screen pans back and a caption shows up that says "USA outpost, guantanamo bay cuba"
