The Thunder-Jazz game currently in a delay. Apparently Gobert was a late scratch for illness and they are waiting for league approval to play. All kinds of run it’s flying around.

I think we're right on the cusp of seeing all sports cancelled for some time. |

BREAKING: #Jazz C Rudy Gobert and PG Emmanuel Mudiay are being taken to Mercy Medical Center in downtown OKC to be tested for the coronavirus. |

It is inevitable that a player will get it. Not only all the travel they do but interaction with fans, going to nightclubs, etc... Once one does its game over. |
Just great logic by Adande - esp when he gets all his tickets for free

30 day travel ban from Europe

He’s surely going to contradict half of this speech by tomorrow. It’s amazing how poorly he reads.

He sounds and looks sick

No Trump owned properties in Europe, outside of the UK right?

Rudy Gobert tested positive for it.

Well it’s a plan, right?

Gobert, you asshole! I wonder if they would have just played in empty arenas if he didn't do that.

Feeling Strong enough to play! A well conditioned athlete probably has little cause for concern of their own personal well being. |
I look forward to hanging out with you guys while we're all under quarantine.

Do people still say God don’t like ugly?
Not meant as a religious commentary, I can just hear the voices of some of the old people from my childhood. |
I'm jumping ahead like seventy steps but if Gobert got it from somebody coming back from Europe, and he's done that with the media and it leads to an outbreak... holy shit that's a bad look.

Is the US predicting similar 70% total infected? I like the Merkel's upfront approach.
Coronavirus: Up to 70% of Germany could become infected - Merkel - BBC News Quote:
Quick math for Germany - 58 million people, assuming 1% fatality (from Fauci), that is 580 thousand dead. Quick math for US - 328 million people, 70% is 229 million, assuming 1% fatality, that is 2.9 million dead. |

Yup, this is the part that is missed by most of the people posting on Facebook and posting memes about how it's killed less than Flu/Obesity/Childhood Poverty and/or how we're all going to get it anyway so let's just go on with our lives. The contagiousness of this is within a range that is backed by science, the numbers are going to be huge, do we want most of them in the next 2-3 weeks and 20-30 million cases that need hospitalization fighting for somewhere between 300-500k hospital beds, or do we want to play for time, spread it out over months and hopefully when critical mass is reached a vaccine is available for the most critical cases. It's simple maths and playing for time. |
My wife and I were talking and this came up:
Towards the end of last year, there was a bad bug going around that a lot of people caught. From what she read, it was a bug that no one knew eactly what it was. Most chalked it up to a bad flu season. Was it this instead? |
Just a thought exercise (not saying its realistic to do)...
Is the answer to temporarily segregate the older and pre-existing from everyone else for let's say 15-30 days? Essentially tell them (and anyone that needs to help care for them) stay home. No travel, someone will bring you food and other necessities. Segregate the hospitals, do a better job maintaining a sterile environment in hospitals, nursing homes and like. For those that can, work from home. For those that can't, paid sick leave will provide (not sure about funding though). Won't this flatten the curve that Fauci and others want and still let rest of US function for the most part? |
I posted about 10 pages ago we should shut the USA down for 2 weeks.
Had we done that, we would not be having these problems. I should be President. |
Quote:
The difference is I'm talking about approx 51 million 65+ and older, so not quite as drastic. But yes, you should be President to protect the BAAAA-den sheeples :) |

When you're president can I be Secretary of Energy? |
Will the suspension of large events have a profound impact on spread? I definitely hope so. It sadly takes cancellations and infected celebrities to make the typical American even care

While we are at it, can I have the DHS position (specifically the INS dept)? |
We should have a pool on which FOFC member tests positive 1st.

I can't keep up with y'all's postings so apologies if this has already been covered...
When do the Benghazi-style hearings begin for President Numbnuts? They tried to pin four needless deaths on Hilary's head, how many are they gonna pin on him? |
