only because you announced you were duking before the actual deadline...i wonder if you could have duked cronin's duke and still gotten out of it.

Barkeep49 12-14-2007 04:52 PM

Don't forget you might not be permanently dead in this game. That's how I'm consoling myself.

Hey, ya'll are spending quality time with Yaks, Trout, Squid, and Rhinos. Things could be worse.

Just saw this. I too get frustrated with being falsely accused, and it happens almost every game that I am a villager! That said, there are degrees of frustration and I think most of the time a player has the ability to shape the conversation through their posts rather than have to sit back and take it.

Everyone has their own approach, every situation is different, yada, yada, yada. I just know that when I'm a good guy I'm going to work as hard as I possibly can, with the amount of time I have that day, to not be the one picked because I know I'm a bad selection.

There are also certain playing styles that are more likely to attract attention, and accusations are part of the territory with attention. I normally like to push the action as early in the game as possible, rather than wait for the game to unfold. It is a lot of fun when it works, and a lot of hard work defending bad decisions when it doesn't. If you are finding yourself in a spot where you have to defend yourself more than you would like, perhaps it is a good time to evaluate what kind of in-game behavior is creating those situations. It is possible to change your behavior and your "WW rep" over time if you are interested in doing so.

usualy not. Sometimes if you are a wolf it can interfere with communicating with othe rwolves.

Usually if you are upfront about your schedule the way chief rum has been this game people will cut you some slack.

awesome..

I read some of the background on wikipedia...

and, as I'm reading through the other game.... are the wolves made aware of each other at the very beginning? or just during the first night phase?

interesting game.

Barkeep49 01-15-2008 02:00 PM

The wolves, normally speaking, know each other from the time the game starts.

normally....so, just making sure i understand this... when the game starts the wolves know who each other are? i hate this game already (time sucking/addictive) and i've never played it

Yeah, generally the wolves both know who each other are, but can also communicate and coordinate with each other via PM or email. Villagers cannot communicate with each other except in thread and don't know who anyone else is.

Generally. There's always an exception somewhere, but those are spelled out in advance.

The other rule I like to tell any new player is that you can always trust me to tell the truth.

RendeR 01-15-2008 02:12 PM

*chuckles*

Welcome to our little corner of hell my friend.

If you trust anyone playing werewolf, you're going to die. Don't BE that guy.

And as Render will tell you sometimes if you trust someone, someone else will die. Moral of the story? Don't trust anyone except if you want to win in which case you need a circle of trust.

Salt, meet wound, wound...scream a bit for us please.....

;)

Barkeep49 01-23-2008 07:15 AM

I'm not upset really at dying but hoops would be mad at me if I didn't post here so....

st.cronin 01-23-2008 09:41 PM

post

hoopsguy 01-23-2008 09:56 PM

I'm upset that there are multiple people who have died in the first two days of the current game who have not posted here.

Seriously, how are we supposed to catch up to the Maximum Football thread (even if the posts don't really count) if dead people don't whine here????

st.cronin 01-23-2008 09:57 PM

beats me

finkenst 01-23-2008 10:05 PM

sigh.

SnDvls 01-24-2008 10:13 PM

I'd like to say I was killed early, but I wasn't. However, this is probally the longest I've lasted as a wolf in a long time too ;)

Arles 01-25-2008 08:26 PM

First time I've been voted off on WW. I had a good feeling on 2-3 of the remaining wolves, so it was probably a good move by the wolf contingent. ;)

mauchow 01-25-2008 08:43 PM

*cries*

I suck at this game. HAHA

You mean killed off? Unless you think the wolves had a small caucus to determine their kill tonight. :)

claphamsa 01-25-2008 08:48 PM

yeah, its ok....

Arles 01-25-2008 10:32 PM

Good point, CR. I was killed off ;)

finkenst 01-25-2008 11:24 PM

this game makes my head hurt too much.

i got killed by work and volleyball conspiring against my online time.

ah well. :)

Fink, alot of people who play have time constraints.

As long as you post that you won't be around people will usually cut you some slack

i really was just voting for craig for the heck of it as i hadn't paid attention at all to the vote count... but i wasn't expecting work, school, and extra curriculars to all conspire against me..

Passacaglia 01-30-2008 01:32 PM

okay, so this probably doesn't qualify as early, but...um, i'm doing it so hoops can achieve his dream of getting this thread to beat the MF thread. Yeah, that's it.

Anyway, this worked out pretty well for me -- it's lurker's birthday, and we're going out to dinner (provided I feel well enough). It'd be pretty lame if I were thinking about the WW deadline the whole time! :p

Sheesh.. getting killed day 5 or 6 or whatever you were isn't early. :)

Of course not -- like I said, I was doing it for hoops!

hoopsguy 01-30-2008 07:58 PM

Pass, thank you for your post that is in complete violation of the spirit of the thread. I wish more people would take your approach.

st.cronin 01-30-2008 08:04 PM

Pass has been killed early in enough games that I think he gets to post in this thread whenever he wants to.

Lathum 01-30-2008 08:05 PM

I can't believe I died already

Lathum 01-30-2008 08:05 PM
