Tasan, thanks for the detailed PMs for setting up the league. Made it very simple. I'm now all set up. The last thing I need to do now is set up a few batch files so that I can switch between my leagues and the basic teams.

Also, sorry I didn't make the last FA, but I wasn't really looking to compete in my first season, after starting late. I'll do what I can in the TC to put up some type of competitive team.

Finally, thanks for the welcomes. I'm sure in a few seasons you will all be sorry :D

Can we have a stickied ALL teams thread.

That way we can see who currently has what team and we can do a roll call every two seasons or something. The creator of the thread can keep it updated using posts in that same thread.

Lets say someone goes on xmas holiday and wants to keep their team, they can post in the thread when they expect to be back and the first post will get updated with something like...

Texans - Sef0r (On Leave, returns in 4 weeks)

This might be a better way of tracking teams and also giving visitors a chance to take a quick snapshot of the state of the league. The main FOWL site doesn't have the owner list updated all the time and I can't blame anyone for not keeping it updated, its a hard task pinging owners and seeing if they are still managing their team. Having a sticked Teams and Owners thread makes it easier...

Currently I'm new to the the DFL and on the waitlist at WOOF. Several people have recommended this league for beginner-mp despite the speed. I'd like to give it a shot and see what it's like.

Tasan. Is it possible for you to edit in all the teams on your original post and put the owners name on there?

This would be the ideal thread for everyone, including visitors to see what teams are currently taken, on leave and available to be taken over.

Is Minny still in? He hasn't uploaded since last season and he's $40M over the cap after his spending spree last season... been patiently waiting to see what he does...

There's no penalty for being over the cap so my guess is that he does.....

The only issue is that i am having trouble starting FOF on my new computer (Vista) I have tried everything i can find to fix it but when I try and start a game the "ok" button is in red and i can't go anywhere!

Any thoughts?

See the Vista FAQ posted in the FOF topic. The two biggies that help are to install outside of Program Files (I have a Games folder for this) and the first time you need to right-click the exe and select "Run as Administrator" for the elicense stuff to go.

mgo, I dunno if this'll matter to you but the NFC has a lot more human teams than the AFC. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't mention that the AFC would be a LOT friendlier to someone joining the league.

I'm a Vikings fan and I noticed they are open on the website but not on here? What's their story, other than being a fiscal mess?

so when it says "league id MUST be 8 characters" and i completely ignore that and type in six characters, then smash my face against the keyboard because i can't continue... who's fault is that. I blame the game.

I am an idiot and ready to embarrass myself some more in this league!!

What do i need to do to get started?

The Vikes are run by a friend of mine who's new to the game and basically I have to hound him to export cuz he's having trouble getting over the learning curve even though he's a pro IT guy. So they're owned and semi-active, and yes he went against my best advice to not backload contracts.

It seems in the NFC we have 11 teams going POR,DAL,MIN,ANC,CHI,ATL,GRB,ATL,NO,ARZ,and SF. AFC has 7 teams going REN,BAL,CIN,IND,HOU,KC, and NYJ that leaves 2 AFC teams getting free trips to the playoffs while 10-6 teams with quality rosters miss in the NFC. Some competive balance at some point would be nice, but if no one cares oh well!

interested in joining. I have heard that its extremely fast paced league, is it a daily upload? I can take what ever team the league wants filled. I am currently in 3 leagues and this will make my 4th and last.

The league is a daily upload but only on weekdays, and we're on xmas break right now till monday. Hiho, I would suggest a team in the AFC east or south. I believe they only have one human team each. Even this thread is outdated.

Oh good, now we get to see some new owners. This sure will make it more interesting in the FA signings. Especially if these teams save their cap for next season.

Thanks, Tasan. I'll use this list for AI teams now. (I had to turn everyone off of AI to get through the manual entry of crap draftees, so the FA2:1 list of AI teams was probably different from the FA1 list of AI teams.)

I'm still catching up from the holidays with work with 6 or 7 day work weeks and less time available when at work. So I'm not back yet. Ideally I'm hoping I'll catch up with work soon and free up the time needed for FOWL.

Don't need to hold NY for me if someone else comes along and wants them though. When I do get back, I can easily pick a different team if they are taken.
