Help Mods ... "I screwed up a Thread"
I just screwed up the "Yet another school shooting" thread and have no idea what I did wrong. I was just going to post a link and a quote.
It doesn't give me the option to delete my post. Mods can you please fix? |
Yeah; posting any kind of link to GMG properties (Deadspin, Kotaku, The Onion) is broken again due to the way (I think) GMG handles infinite scroll.
|
Hey, just saw you are from Amarillo.
Did some work for Pantex a long time ago. Never got the courage to try the Big Texan challenge but did eat my first rattlesnake there. |
I screwed up the Fallout 76 thread with a Kotaku link. Sorry
|
About ten years ago I screwed up the hot chicks thread by posting a ton of pictures of fat girls. Sorry about that, I was younger and dumber back then.

Hah, so you're the one that got that classic thread banned? |
The other day I saw a spool of Navy Blue thread and I totally wrecked that ....ummm wrong thread er forum topic.
|
Glad I'm not the only one with a screw loose here :)

Really, it seems like a fitting tribute. And I just saw your Amarillo reference. I've lived here for 22 years and still haven't been to the Big Texan. It really isn't a locals' sort of place. |
Uh Mods,
I did really screw up the Fallout 76 thread. Can you please fix? Otherwise I won't be able to share my great wasteland adventures with everyone. |
RIP Hot or NOt
|
I think the steam thread is broken.
|
I think FOFC is broken. Up/down/up/down/up.

MBBF, what did you do... |
I post bumped it to another page. May be good now, just don't look at the previous page. :)

Maybe it was taken over by Austin Creed, meaning that its actually UpUpDownDown :D |

Guess I will have to repost this every time messes up a thread :) |
This post broke the steam thread.

Dola,
I reported my post above hoping a mod will take a look at MBBF's post. Maybe some of his ghosts got into his computer. |
Changed the title to be more explicit.
Mods, I screwed up the Fallout 76 thread, can you fix it please? |
You can always just use Tapatalk and delete it yourself. I'll get these at some point this weekend.

So you're saying there's a way we can recover the broken "Game Specials/Discounts" thread? |
I screwed up the random thoughts thread. I guess linking to The Onion is bad. Still the article is pretty funny
"NCAA Launches Investigation Into Why It Wasn’t Making Millions Off Recent College Admissions Scandal" |
I screwed up the Random Threads (and Fallout 76) thread. I downloaded Tapatalk but didn't see how I could remove the last/bad post.
|
Random is still broken?
|
Quote:
It is. Does anyone have Tapatalk and know how to un-break it? |
I was just noticing that Random is broken myself (hence my arrival in this thread).
And I actually had something pretty random to post too :D |
Stop linking to stuff without hxxp
|

You can actually test it with preview post. You'll know if it'll fuck up the thread. You'll get about 10 pages worth of junk as a link. |
Random still broken.
|

just saying break three or four threads, don't get fooled again. |
Fixed. In the future, the person who posted the bad link should be able to just log in using Tapatalk and delete the post that screwed up the thread.
|
Trump thread is toast

I done tried that... didn't work. Maybe I need to try it on my iPad? The Android app isn't allowing me to do it (it says "edit" but then when I click on that, it crashed) |

Dammit, I broke the Video Game thread :(
I was even TRYING to use the "preview" version just to avoid any problem ... and just stupidly clicked wrong Sorry :( |
Arg
I broke the random thoughts thread |
|
Random thoughts thread still broken
|
fixed now, i think
|
|
Great, the one thread that has actually been interesting to follow in real time!
|
Yeah no shit. Fix this.
|
I think I figured out how to fix it myself with some URL kung-fu (I copied the link generated by clicking the 'edit' button on an entirely different post, and then swapped in the indivual post number of the wonky post into that URL, which allowed me to edit it). Sorry!
|
For future reference, I think the person who posted a link that breaks a forum can fix it by following these steps:
Although a broken link won't have any edit/quote buttons it will still have a link to it's number within the thread, which will also display it's unique post ID as part of the URL generated by clicking on that number. That post ID is displayed between "p=" and an ampersand, within the URL generated by clicking/hovering on that post's number within the thread: Now that you have the Post ID # you can insert that into the URL to edit a post. Copy the below link in the quotation marks and append the Post ID # to the end of the URL, after the "p=": "https://forums.operationsports.com/fofc/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=" (e.g "https://forums.operationsports.com/fofc/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=3242029" to edit the post in the image above) Entering that URL into your browser should take you to the edit page for the post in question and allow you to modify the offending content, or delete the post entirely. |

Too good for HoN threads? :) |
EDIT: Fixed using Sloppy's method above.
|
Dem primary thread broken by a bot quoting a Gizmodo link I think.
|
Yeah, I was able to unbork the link in my post but I have no clue how to fix the reply.
|
I broke the Video Game thread. Wouldn't let me edit. Was trying to link to Kotaku's video of Buildings Have Feelings Too - really interesting looking city builder coming out soon where the buildings walk, talk, and have feelings.
