The career of Courtney Keung, running back (TCY/FOF)

For this dynasty, I'll be following a player, week-by-week, from his senior year of high school to the end of his career, whenever or wherever that may be.

I'll start out using "The College Years", with the NFL running in the background in FOF. When the player is drafted, I'll just move on to a full-time FOF dynasty.

here's the player I've chosen:

COURTNEY KEUNG, Running Back
5'9", 193 lbs
Wapato High School (Wapato, Washington)
GPA: 3.56, SAT: 1396, Major: Marketing
SELECTION EMPHASIS: Team Prestige, Academics

National Ranking: #3
RB Ranking: #1
State Ranking: #1
RB Ranking(State): #1

STATS (so far, through 4 games played):
RUSHING: 101 ATT, 706 YDS, 4 TD
RECEIVING: 25 REC, 416 YDS, 8 TD
DEFENSE: 31 TKL, 2.5 SCK, 1 INT

Courtney Keung is the #1 ranked running back in the nation, and should have a long and successful career if he lives up to the hype. My scout rates him at an 82, with his biggest strength being 3rd down running, and his biggest weakness being punt returning.

He comes from the small farming town of Wapato, Washington (about 5,000 residents). Wapato is in eastern Washington, a bit south of Yakima. One interesting tidbit: Wapato is approximately 75% hispanic, but "Keung" appears to be a Chinese name of Cantonese origin (according to Wikipedia).

WEEK 1
RUSHING: 27 ATT, 176 YDS, 4 TD
RECEIVING: 6 REC, 85 YDS, 1 TD
DEFENSE: 5 TKL, 0.5 SCK

No offers from any colleges yet, but it's still early in the season. I'm sure there'll be plenty of good offers before too long.

WEEK 2
RUSHING: 29 ATT, 166 YDS, 3 TD
RECEIVING: 4 RED, 98 YDS
DEFENSE: 6 TKL

Wisonsin(Prestige: 86, Academic: 92) has made Courtney an offer, and he's considering it.

WEEK 3
RUSHING: 21 ATT, 127 YDS
RECEIVING: 7 REC, 165 YDS, 1 TD
DEFENSE: 7 TKL, 1.0 SCK

Michigan(97/95) has made him an offer, and he'll use up one of his five visits on them. Washington State(82/45) and Colorado(81/74) are also interested, but for now Michigan is the front-runner.

WEEK 4
RUSHING: 22 ATT, 207 YDS, 1 TD
RECEIVING: 4 REC, 89 YDS
DEFENSE:5 TKL, 0.5 SCK

Stanford(76/99) has shown interest, and he'll use up his second visit on them.

WEEK 5
RUSHING: 34 ATT, 260 YDS
RECEIVING: 8 REC, 135 YDS, 1 TD
DEFENSE: 9 TKL, 0.5 SCK

Florida(92/81) will be Courtney's third visit. Oklahoma (97/53) has contacted him, but no offer has been made yet. He has two visits left, with Colorado, Washington State, and Wisconsin still in the running.

WEEK 6
Oklahoma has made him an offer, but he still hasn't used up any more visits.

WEEK 7
Courtney has decided on his last two visits: They'll go to Washington State and Wisconsin, with Colorado and Oklahoma now out of the running.

To sum up, here's the 5 teams he's deciding on, in order of team prestige (Courtney's first priority):
Michigan(97/95)
Florida(92/81)
Wisconsin(86/92)
Washington State(82/45)
Stanford(76/99)

WEEK 8
Courtney has made a decision: The Washington State Cougars, his "hometown" team. (It's the closest university to him, so I'm assuming he was a fan). It doesn't have the prestige of Michigan or Florida, and they're not as impressive academically as Stanford, but he should do well there and will get to stay close to his family for the time being.

Also, CB Leon Golden, Courtney's teammate, will also be going to WSU.

Courtney was selected to Washington's All-State team. Here's the team roster, just in case you're wondering:
The rankings are in this order: national, position, state, state position. Also, the far right column is the college they're committed to, if any. I'm excluding Division II schools ("The Solecismic 8")

And here's the Pac-10 standings for 2004, with bowl results and bowl payoff:
