Werewolf CXI - Beowulf (GAME OVER - VILLAGE WINS!)
 

Rules:

Lynch/night deadline both happen at 5 PM EST. Votes at 5:00 count, at 5:01 do not.

No lynch is allowed, the result of tie votes known only to me.

Village wins if all evil roles are eliminated - Grendel and company win if they achieve a 1 to 1 ratio with the village (unless it is Beowulf and 1 evil role).

Good Roles

Beowulf - Brutal villager, if lynched may choose to take another player to the grave. Also, if the game comes down to Beowulf and one of the evil roles Beowulf will win.

King Hrothgar - Duke, may once per game change the outcome of the lynch vote (note: Beowulf cannot be killed in this way, instead there will be no lynch and Beowulf will be revealed).

Wealhtheow - Hrothgar's wife, the Seer, may scan one player every night and learn if they are good or evil.

Aeschere - Hrothgar's most trusted warrior and advisor, the Bodyguard. He cannot guard the same person twice in a row.

Evil Roles

Grendel - Brutal wolf, may take another player to the grave if lynched.

Grendel's Mother - Wolf seer, may each night scan a player to learn their role due to her hypnotic nature.

Honestly, I really do not like cunning wolves in games with only two wolves. Basically makes the seer a neutral role as they can do as much harm as good.

Anyway, I'm in like usual.

Maybe I should roll out my new day one strategy. I will vote for the player that is second on the signup list on day one.

How do people feel about afternoon deadlines, like sometime between 3-5 EST? I can do night deadlines (as that seems to be the norm of late) but as I'm often out around 8-10 reports wouldn't always be on time.

I would say go with what fits your schedule the best.

I had posted a thread in the main forum to try to get a few more people (hope that was okay) and in the original post I mentioned that it was a game being run by Autumn. Have since changed it.

Looks like this is pretty much all we're gonna get - I'm going to take out the cunning wolf role and make it a wolf seer instead. Spy is removed from the other side.

It's Day 1.. what kind of explanation do you want? Most of it's just something stupid like Poli always voting the first player and EF knowing that so preemptively voting Poli.

I don't want to reopen the debate from last game, but at this point nobody has specific information to cast a vote for someone. I will keep waiting before casting my vote.

Plus it's early day one, not much of a reason for any villager to make a vote. Unfortunately the only people with reasons will be the wolves and I doubt they are into sharing that information.

Because if he is a wolf, he knows you have a role, and if he has a role, he knows its likely you're a wolf and if he is vanilla then he just doesn't like you

I honestly can't remember the last game you were a vanilla villager.

As PB said, it's just a joke from the fact that PB is always either a wolf or has a role, especially in the last several games.

Torn between Clap and PB for this vote, but I will go this way for now.

I really did try to figure that out from memory when I got my vanilla PM this game. It has been awhile and, at the very least, over say the last 20 it has been me as roled villager or wolf probably 18 or 19 times. I'm surprised it didn't drive more day 1 lynchings, to be honest.

I would never vote for this reason alone because it's still a random % chance in each individual game that you have a role or a wolf. It's just funny the random chance has come up so much for you.

That conversation was joking around with PB and had nothing to do with my vote.

And is further proven here where I said that it would have no impact on my vote as it's just a random chance each game.

This'll look bad if he turns up wolf, but I jokingly voted Claphamsa to welcome him back and didn't realize his reason for leaving. Let me lay off now so I don't feel quite as guilty and, if it gets me lynched, so be it.
