Werewolf CXXV - Vegas, Baby - VILLAGERS WIN
------------------------------------------
Vegas. What else is there to say. Built by a mobster, filled with casinos and show girls, Sin City is the most natural place in the world to find trouble. This is a story about some of that trouble. You're just a regular Joe or Jane, want to enjoy the city, make a killing at the card tables and hit the shows at night. But some people aren't here in Vegas for fun. Wherever there's money, there's people who want a piece of the pie. Organized crime is moving in to Vegas. They won't be happy until they're the ones running the show, not John and Jane Doe. That would be trouble enough for most places. But in Vegas excess is the phrase. The Vampiri family, seeing the Lupino family moving in, decides to move in as well. They are competing for control of the city at the same time they're trying to kick the good guys out. Vegas. The Werewolf game where gambling is more than metaphorical. In this game there will be no typical roles. The seer, bodyguard, etc. will be services available in Sin City. Players will bid privately on the services each day, Mafia and villagers alike, and the winning bidder will utilize the service that night. Players will make money by making bets on the next day's lynches. Mafia and villagers will be competing for the prize money and competing for the vital services that will make or break the game. In addition, two families of criminals will be competing against each other. This is an experimental game and involves gambling. I therefore can make no claims that it will be balanced. My goal is to make it fun. 1. Packer Fanatic - lynched Day 2, Vegas Resident 2. JAG 3. DaddyTorgo - lynched Day 4, Lupino Family 4. Saldana - killed Night 5, Vampiri Family 5. Danny - killed Night 1, Vegas Resident 6. The Jackal 7. Zinto - lynched Day 8, Vegas Resident 8. Crimson Fox - lynched Day 3, Lupino Family 9. Darth Vilus - killed Night 6, Vegas Resident 10. Chief Rum 11. Mauboy1 - killed Night 5, Vegas Resident, Spouse 12. Passacaglia - killed Night 7, Vegas Resident 13. Lathum - killed Night 2, Vegas Resident 14. J23 - lynched Day 1, Vegas Resident 15. Tyketime - killed Night 8, Lupino Family 16. Mckerney - lynched Day 5, Vampiri Family 17. Hoopsguy - killed Night 3, The Gambler 18. cougarfreak - lynched Day 6, Vampiri Family 19. ntndeacon - lynched Day 7, Vegas Resident |
The game will consist of villagers, and two separate groups of mafia. Each mafia family will know each other and may communicate through PMs. However the two families will not know the identites of the other family, nor be able to communicate with them.
VOTING As in any Werewolf game the group will vote for a lynch each day. The leading vote getter will be lynched, and role and allegiance revealed upon death. Deadline for voting will be 9 pm EST, and any votes marked 9:01 will not be counted. A tie will be resolved by unknown means. BETTING Unlike most games, each night every player will send privately to the moderator their bet as to who will be lynched the next day. Everyone who bet on the correct player will split the prize money awarded. If they choose incorrectly they will not lose money. Bets are due by the dawn deadline, 9 am EST. BIDDING Each day each player will have the opportunity to spend their money by bidding on services in Sin City. Those services will be listed each day, and will essentially replicate the roles in a typical Werewolf game. The player who bids highest will gain the use of that power that night. A player can bid any amount of money (though their bid will be capped at how much money they actually have after deadline) and they may bid on as many services as they wish per day. The mafia families will each be able to pool their bids if they choose to do so. Bids are due by the dusk deadline, 9 pm EST. ROLES For the most part the game will consist of vanilla villagers and vanilla mafia, with bidding replacing the typical roles. There may be some hidden roles or hidden victory conditions in the game, however. The mafia families will have access to services that the village cannot bid on. However these services will still need to be bought. In other words, they will represent mafia-only abilities but will still have to be paid for. SERVICES Services will be offered each day after the dawn deadline. The variety offered may change during the course of the game but will include typically those who can scan like a seer, kill like a wolf, protect like a bodyguard. The exact details of their service will be given only to those who hire them. A player will be notified of their winning bid after the dusk deadline (9 pm EST). They will have until the dawn deadline (9 am EST) to submit orders for the service hired (for example send in a scan target). Players may send in conditional orders if they are unsure they'll be around to send in orders. A player has an option to not use the service hired, and if so no one will be able to use it. VICTORY CONDITIONS The village wins when all mafia members are out of the game. Each mafia family wins a major victory if their family reaches a 1:1 ratio with the rest of the players (whether those are villagers or members of the other family). They earn a minor victory if the other mafia family is removed from play. |

Interesting idea.
Can the brutal ability be bid on as well? |
There won't be a brutal ability, but the night kill, essentially, is up for auction. The mafia will have to hire a hit man if they want to make a kill, for the most part.
Why not do both games at once. ;)
I like it - I'm in.

I'm crazy, but not that crazy ;-) Should I put you on the list CF? |
I'll do whichever one people prefer.

i will play whichever you run
EagleFan, in second response to your question, on further thought there will be some services which only the Mafia have access to and can bid on. These could possibly represent something like a brutal ability or other typical wolf abilities. We'll just have to wait and see. ;-)

I guess you can sign me up for this one too, though I think I'd rather try the other one
All right, well I'll see who signs up tonight. Tomorrow I'll do some advertising, as we're only hitting about ten players so far either way. If there's no one who wants to play this one but won't play the other one I'll just do Salem for now.
I am interested in playing. This will be my first werewolf game so hopefully it will be a good experience and a good chance to learn the game. I will also play the other game if it is the one that is chosen.
Awesome Zinto, it's good to have you.

I am still undecided about the other game, but I am down for this one.
Great to see it, guys. Crimson Fox, I'm going to go ahead and assume you desire to be in this game so much it causes you to post videos.
id be up for it. this one or the other
I'm glad to see someone else use a money mechanic. You might want to checkout the game I did with money at its core: WW LXVI: Money Money Money (Game Over!) - Front Office Football Central as I believe it was before you were around and might give you some ideas (or might not). I really like the premise and am sorry I don't have time to play this.
in, this time for real
Like the other thread, I'll play, but time may be limited.

Since I'm not in your list, Autumn, I am figuring I must have been unclear in the above post. Thusly: Autumn, I would like to be considered as a player in this game. Thanks! :p |
What are you trying to say, Chief?
I've put out a lot of e-mails, and I think we have a shot at a 20 person game here!
Money Money Money was an awesome game.
I'm reading that now. Looks like fun. This one will be different, but hopefully a similar kind of fun. I'd like to see someone run the same Money ruleset again sometime.
In... All in baby!
I'm going ahead with this game for now. Looks like it could be our first big game in a while.

Some mysteries will never be solved. |
I'll play this one too.
I will keep taking sign ups through tonight, and probably send things out tonight. We will start with a night zero where you make your bet on the D1 lynch, so start thinking about it!
Hard to pass up a Vegas trip. I may not be 24x7 at the virtual tables here like I am when visiting, but I expect to be able to pull my weight well enough.

I'll give it a shot.
I will be in since the other game isn't gonna make
Nice! This will be our biggest game in a while.
I will wait for any more stragglers and then send out roles tonight. Since everyone needs to get a bet in, I will delay the start of voting until tomorrow at Noon. Hopefully everyone will get a chance to check their role and make their bet before then. If you need to send in a conditional bet before I send roles out, that's fine.
I will bet one million lempira!
...wait, this isn't Las Vegas in Honduras? |
Of course that joke would have been better had I actually bet ON someone.
You can catch PackerFan's act at the Tiki Lounge tomorrow night.
I'm going to work on sending stuff out. If someone shows up in the next half hour or so I can still fit them in.
If Poli was in the game I would bet Packerfanatic
BTW, it's great to see new faces signing up! I hope you guys enjoy the game and keep playing!
Damn, I'd love to get in on such a huge game, too. Alas, with Coffee Warbaby coming any day, not gonna happen.
So I'll root for the wolves. :) |
Roles are going out, so sign-ups are closed. Please no in-game talk until I say that all roles have been sent.
All roles have been sent out, please let me know if you didn't receive a PM.
The game is on! This is night zero ... no lynch votes will be allowed yet. Please PM me your bet as to who will be the lynch victim tomorrow. Bets are due by 12 noon EST (the deadline will normally be 9). As of noon, voting may begin. |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:08 AM. |
