FBCB Fantasy Player Dynasty- Season 4 (2019-2020)
We had 4 FOFC recruits in last seasons pool, and 3 of them signed at colleges that already had an FOFC player, but for those just catching up, we'll recap anyways.
C Sophus Abel (Texas)- The Longhorns finished 28-7 overall, 12-4 in the Big 12. They lost in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. SG Barrett Hays (Florida)- The Gators finished 27-7 overall, 12-4 in the SEC. They lost in the NCAA Second Round. SF Cori O'Neill (Marquette)- The Eagles finished 26-8 overall, 14-4 in the Big East. They also lost in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. C Matthew Ginsberg (Georgetown)- Our newest team in the FOFC pool, the Hoyas finished 25-11 overall, 13-5 in the Big East. They also lost in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. |
No recruits for a while, as I'm going to let a couple of these classes graduate before I start taking new recruits, so I can hold down the workload (just a note, the next groups of recruits, will all be 4 star recruits, so as to hopefully get some different teams in the mix, maybe even some mid-major teams).

We have 15 active players this season, and it's time to see where our players ended up on their respective depth charts to start this season. 4 of our 15 players have used their redshirt year and must play no matter what, so let's start there:
PF Tim Sheppard (Michigan State)- Not much of an improvement for Tim, who will probably see limited minutes again this season. He's projected 10th on the depth chart. C Jace Hunter (Pittsburgh)- Jace will play, and play a lot, as he is projected to be the starting center for the Panthers. PG Dean Hoo (Marquette)- Dean is projected to be the starting PG, so last seasons National Freshman of the Year need not worry about PT. SF Will Brown (Duke)- Will was academically ineligible for the first half of the season last year, then made the decision to redshirt the rest of it. Probably a good decision, as he might not have played much behind this stacked Blue Devil roster. This season he's projected 7th on the depth chart, so he should see some decent minutes anyways. Now for our 3 returning juniors: PG David Ginsberg (Syracuse)- David is the projected starting PG for the Orange, so probably no need to redshirt him, but the decision is yours DavidCorperial. SG Al Mighty (Texas)- Al is projected to be the starting SG for the Longhorns. No need to redshirt him either, but what do you say thealmighty? SF Rob Nielsen (Stanford)- Rob needs to have a strong season after a fairly week sophomore season. He's projected as the Cardinal's starting SF. Do you want to redshirt him or play him Coffee Warlord? Now onto our returning sophomores: SF Deacon Palmer (Mississippi State)- Deacon is projected to be the starting PG for Mississippi State. What's your decision ntndeacon? C Kuji Chagulia (Arizona)- Kuji is projected to be the starting PF for Arizona. What say you bbgunn? PG Benton Gale (Florida)- Benton is projected to be the starting PG for Florida, and might get more minutes than he did last season. What do you think breeze? SG Jaybard Riley (Louisville)- Jaybard is projected to be the starting SG for Louisville. What's your decision Neuqua? Now for our 4 newbies, the incoming freshmen. C Sophus Abel (Texas)- Sophus has been slotted to be the starting PF for Texas, but is expected to share PT with somebody else, which means he might only see 20 mins or so a game. What are you thinking with this guy ntndeacon? SG Barrett Hays (Florida)- Barrett is projected 8th on the depth chart, but should see a lot of minutes as he is slotted to play 3 different positions on the floor. What's the word on this guy breeze? SF Cori O'Neill (Marquette)- Cori might be our first serious redshirt candidate of this group, as he is projected 10th on the depth chart. He might see a lot of PT, might not. What are you thinking with this guy tarcone? C Matthew Ginsberg (Georgetown)- Matthew is projected to split time with a few other post players, but is projected to start as the C for Georgetown. What do you want to do with this guy DavidCorperial? I will give everybody until Monday to make a decision. If I haven't heard from you, I'll make the decision I think is best. Sorry for the lack of update on this, I know you are all getting impatient. I think I've heard back from everybody, and if I haven't, their player(s) will play. I've had another crazy week, with finals and job searching, but I'm going to get this going this weekend and try to get at least 1, maybe 2 posts in. Thanks for your patience.

So.. with the situation this season that we have multiple players on the same team, the player head to head situation has to have an overhaul. Obviously the best thing to do would be to have our Texas and Florida teammates have a head to head every single game, but that would be a minimum of 4 head to head games a week, plus whatever others there were. Quite frankly, that's just too tedious for me to work through right now, even though it would give the truest indication of head to head games, having teammates go head to head as well.
I think the best way to do it is as follows: if we have a team head to head match-up that involves Florida or Texas (and Marquette next season) against another of our FOFC teams, then we will have multiple player head to head match-ups. As an example, lets say we have Florida vs. Stanford. We have Barrett Hayes and Benton Gale at Florida, and they would each go head to head against Rob Nielsen of Stanford. This situation means that Rob Nielsen could win 2 player head to head games during the same game, while Barrett and Benton could each win one. Let's say the results are this: Benton: .950 Rob: .925 Barrett: .900 That would mean that Benton beat Rob, and Rob beat Barrett, so they would both get a player head to head win, while Barrett would be left out. Make sense? Sound fair? Well, that's the best solution I can come up with so we're rolling with it. |

Yea I hate that both this dynasty and my FBCB Coaches Dynasty have gone to a snails pace. I just have so much going on and I thought that being laid off would give me more free time, but it seems I'm busier now, trying to do everything I couldn't do when I was working full time. I'm trying to rotate between this and the coaches dynasty, one game week at a time, trying to get 2 game weeks for both dynasties in an actual week. haha no nothing like that guys, it's not a major catastrophe, just unfortunate. I had 2 spreadsheets I was working on with this dynasty. 1 was the weekly, monthly, season, postseason, and career ratings spreadsheet that is the main focus of this dynasty, tabbing the points with minutes played, getting the weekly rating.
Then I had a 2nd spreadsheet where I was counting the # of weekly and monthly ranking wins each player had, head to head wins, POTG, double-double, etc etc. I was going to present it at the end of the dynasty. Unfortunately, that spreadsheet got merged with something else and I didn't realize it, so rather than going back and trying to recreate it, I'm just going with the 1 spreadsheet. I'll still have the contests and such, they just won't be marked on a spreadsheet, if that makes sense. The unfortunate part was that Dean had a bunch of POTG awards piled up, but without going back through the dynasty, I won't know how many exactly. |
