Good or Barf Vol 1. Taco Bell Presents: The Doritos Taco(Launching March 8th).
Taco Bell Has an 85 Million Taco Shell Reserve Prepared for Doritos Onslaught
Look, you can argue this fact all you want, but a fact it remains: Taco Bell's soon selling tacos made out of giant Doritos, and you're going to eat one. No, shh—it's true. Millions of orange shells await. The Doritos Locos Tacos, already available at a few experimental Taco Bell locations—the Los Alamos of shockingly cheap Mexican food—will roll out worldwide. And then, it'll be too late to resist, you stupid gourmand. You think you're too good for Taco Bell, maybe? Hah, no, friend. That's not how it works... But if you're going to be difficult about it and turn up your nose, try this on for size (like an enormous taco): the company has already mass produced 85 million Doritos taco shells ready. That's enough for every single person in Germany to receive one. And then another four million left over. So shut up and eat your tacos, which are so Locos that they require a specially-designed holster to prevent Doritos dust from getting on your skin and overwhelming your entire central nervous system. |

I can not wait to try this.
|
I have never been more excited for a food in my life.
|
I will definitely be trying this...I like Taco Bell to a fault sometimes...
|
Bring it on! When do they come out?
|
My son's reaction to the news? "That's awesome, we GOTTA get one"
|
considering I dont like Doritos, I'll pass
|
I'm far more excited by the introduction of Taco Bell's breakfast menu than I am about this.
|
Live in the Toledo, Ohio market and have enjoyed these numerous times. Personally at home I prefer cool ranch doritos, but the nacho cheese shells have more flavor to them.

I can walk to Taco Bell if I want to. Every time I go there it gets harder and harder to accept what they call ground beef. Granted, I only really get it if it's part of the Box deal. I'm sure I'll go, but I'm not really busting my butt for one. I would much rather just go to Panchero's, also in walking distance, or Qdoba, which is next to where I get groceries.
|
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I haven't been to taco bell in a long time but I will have to make a trip to try this.
|
OH HELL YEAH!
|
I believe March 8th at midnight is the release date. Also it appears that the Cool Ranch flavor will follow the initial launch.

That is very true :) |

Oh snap. Now if only they'd bring back that pepper jack flavor and use that, I'd be in heaven. |
Shouldn't the title of this thread be 'PING: bbor'?
|
There is no better Mexican food than Taco Bell. I can't wait!!!

I have no words. |
I know where I'm having lunch on March 8.
|
They had to introduce this during Lent, didn't they
|
An 85 million backlog just doesn't seem like enough Tacos. I've been running some numbers.
2Billion tacos per year, equates to roughly 950 tacos per location per day. If they release 75% of the 85M taco surplus to the US, that equates to about 12500 tacos per franchise. I'm just going to assume this item will be wildly popular, and if so, shortages seem possible within a few weeks of launch. Especially depending on how fast they can roll them off the assembly line. |
This will Blow up and make you blow out...

You had me at Panchero's -- I've probably been there once since college. But you lost me at Qdoba. |
My family eats Qdoba at least once a week. They stuff is so good and it is all fresh, not too many calories for what it is.

Maybe we should start waiting outside the nearest Taco Bell right now. |
Taco Bell knows your name

They are too similar to really like one over the other. Qdoba has a bigger menu. Panchero's queso is pretty much like crack to me. I haven't tried Qdoba's though. |
Looking forward to checking it out, I have been asking the TB by us for the past 3 months if they had it.
|
Did they already come out and dispel the rumors about their beef not actually being all beef or what?
Is most of this sarcasm, or does computer nerditry correlate that positively with Taco Bell affinity? |
Quote:
Yes, they did. http://blogs.ocweekly.com/stickafork..._lawsuit_d.php |

I'd say the relationship is exceptionally strong, although it probably pales in comparison to Doritos/gaming connection. |
Qdoba was horrible when I had it. Never had the desire to eat it again.
|
Hmmm. I'd like to try this. The unfortunate part though, as I've gotten older, for whatever reason, Taco Bell seems to have the same magical effects on me as Ex-lax.
|
I haven't had a good meal at Taco Bell in years. And the last time we went, I ordered the pizza and what I got was so awfully presented that I had a hard time eating it. It looked like someone's 3 year old had gotten into the tortillas and beans and thrown it on a plate.
So, no. |
Luckily our TB is pretty good.
Pretty weird staff (even by Athens standards) but pleasant in their own quirky way and even if they screw something up they're really apologetic & quick to fix it. |
I didn't bitch about the pizza. I did take a pic of it with my phone, but never did anything with it. I was more in shock that anyone would willingly put that on a tray and serve it. I mean, literally, the top shell was hanging sideways off the bottom one, there was barely any cheese, and there was a mess of tomatoes and beans all over the plate. It looked like I had taken it to go and played frisbee with it.

I think I can imagine the reason. It's Taco Bell. |

Good point. :) Just weird that it never affected me like that before. Just in the last 5 years or so. |
How the F did i miss this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No T-bell thread is complete without my input. Just for the record...I look forward to the orange shit i plan to have after eating copious amounts of these. |

I called it! :D Quote:

"food"

BK has become this way for me. I could down a couple Whoppers back in high school and think little of it. Now, a single Whopper hits me like a brick. First time I recalled going to TB I got food poisoning. It took me a long time before I went back. |

Have you ever been to California? |
California, Maryland has better Mexican food than Taco Bell.
|
[insert geographic or neighborhood location here] has better Mexican food than Taco Bell

Ok see. I'm glad I'm not the only one that this has happened to. I'm a glutton for punishment, because every once in a while I'll go to Taco Bell just to prove to my stomach, who's boss. |
I loved that beefy crunch burrito with fritos, but it was a high level laxative.
