FOFC Sprint Cup Series - Season 3 - Race #4 Posted
Welcome to Season 3 of the FOFC Sprint Cup Series.
CHASE FORMAT After 15 "regular season" races, the top 10 drivers, as determined by points accumulated during the season, automatically advance to contend for the Sprint Cup championship. These drivers are joined by two "wild card" qualifiers, specifically the two drivers ranked from 11th through 41st in drivers' points who have the most regular-season race wins. The 12 drivers' championship points are reset to a base of 2,000 per driver. Each of the 10 automatic qualifiers receives a bonus of 3 points for each win during the regular season, while the two wild card qualifiers receive no bonus. Every driver then will receive a bonus for their final position after 15 races. Wild card qualifiers receive no bonus. 1st - 20 bonus points 2nd - 18 bonus points 3rd - 16 bonus points 4th - 14 bonus points 5th - 12 bonus points 6th - 10 bonus points 7th - 8 bonus points 8th - 6 bonus points 9th - 4 bonus points 10th - 2 bonus points Normal scoring applies during the Chase, with race winners earning 43 base points plus 3 bonus points, all drivers who lead a lap earning 1 bonus point, and the driver who leads the most laps earning 1 bonus point in addition to any other points earned. We are moving to the new NASCAR scoring system this season. SCORING SYSTEM In addition to the points allocated: * Any driver who leads a lap during a race receives one bonus point. * The driver who leads the most laps receives an additional one bonus point. * The race winner receives three bonus points. Season 3 - Daytona 500 Prerace
Welcome to Season 3 of the FOFC Sprint Cup Series. We are back at Daytona for the 3rd annual Daytona 500. All the big names are back again for another run at the FOFC Sprint Cup Championship. Past champs Trick Dickle and Nick Phillips are looking for title #2 while Chris Snow is hoping to take home a title after consecutive 2nd place finishes. Benton Gale, winner of the first two Daytona 500's is looking to make it three in a row. Who else will step up and contend this season? We will find out soon. |
I find it amusing Nielsen & Flamebeard are among the top at laps completed.
And never win anything. :) |
If anyone wishes to change their stats today is the final chance. The race will run tonight around 10:00 PM.
We have to wait that long?
EDIT: for my 32nd place finish? SI |

Can't wait!!! |
Season 3 - Race #1 - Daytona 500 Qualifying
Kyle Kappe took the pole and then headed to the back. He ran mid pack most of the race and then at the end, when it mattered, it forced his way to the front and didn't look back holding off Dan Schoonover, Avery Thomas, Travis Elkin and David Gonzalez for the win. The 4th win of his career, good for 2nd all-time. Season 2 champ Trick Dickle, not a strong super speedway driver, lost the draft early on, went a lap down and finished 33rd.

Guess I was off: 36th! SI |
Heh, Rip wastes a good qualifying position, and Helen is saddled by her poor starting place. Ah, well, it's only one race.
Wow...the pole and the race
Interesting. Although my racers will continue to suck since I didn't change them at all...
Good start for McCloud! Hopefully the new stats will help my team.
Despite the poor start, DoubleTap racing is looking forward to our first season with two cars in the lineup.
Would have liked to have seen wade do better, but at least Doug got 16 colors a top 10 finish!
3rd place finish for Avery and To-Paw Racing!
2nd most laps led, not bad.
I'll take 12th at Daytona. You never know what can happen there. Looking forward to Kentucky.
Tough start for Cannon but it's early. Superspeedways are not my strong suit.
25th? That was not what we expected.

Standings after race #1

Kentucky is up next. The race has been run. Look for results this evening.

Race #2 - Kentucky Results
King King had the day's strongest car, but faded near the end when the race wound down. Rip Lickingood took advantage, passing Mustafa Henderson and King Kong to lead the final 22 laps and take the win. Henderson was 2nd, Trick Dickle 3rd, Nick Phillips 4th, Queen Kong 5th and King Kong faded to 6th.

Standings after race #2
Alright, Rip!
We need to start finishing top 10.
2 races run and we sit 5 and 9. If our reliability holds up better this year, we could have 2 drivers in the chase. Its a long year though.
Damn Ace needs to get going
what's retired mean again?
The next race should be up tomorrow.

*polite cough*

Race #3 - Richmond Race Results
Trick Dickle was dominant today, leading 242 laps out of 400. But, after the final pit stops his car faded and he fell to 7th at the finish. Nick Harold took the lead and led the race's final 37 laps to take the win.

Standings after Race #3

Helen wins a pole, which is nice. Then Rip and Helen are 2 of the 3 cars involved in a lap 91 accident that ends their races, and they tumble 17 and 18 places in the Cup standings as a result. Bummer.
Finally a decent finish.

Rough Showing for To-Paw this week...
FC Racing off to a decent but not spectacular start.
Lautaro Tesar: "Oh yeah! Thatīs good for our team! Our first top 5 finish of the season, now we are 9th at the standings, we need to continue like that!"

Damn, Ace seems to be embarking on a Dale Jr like slump :( |
