Right, I'm not saying we don;t have a mix, just the super-hero contingent might be one or two players, or it might be a whole band, and if so, I'd like to know that.

Farrah Whitworth-Rahn 08-07-2008 11:32 AM

There are other velociraptors too. I know who they are, but can't PM with them until we meet in the maze.

That's cool. From the rules, it seems like they would have to be good, right? I think we can get a little COT going with them at some point (not necessarily now).

Barkeep49 08-07-2008 11:41 AM

I have had no experience in the maze. I think it's weird people are voting from me, when I've soft revealed more information than just about anyone in the game.

My PM from Jackal didn't say what happens when a non-raptor comes across me in the maze. I'm assuming I'm good since Lathum didn't die a painful death when we ran into each other.

Once all the raptors find each other we can travel together and communicate.

By the way I've just decided to cancel the movement phase tomorrow at 3. Your moves for 10 tonight will be processed tomorrow morning/afternoon when I get back, and then there'll be a lynch and move at 10.

Darn right. Everyone keeps assuming that this game is going to be a happy little adventure to find the center, and occasionally the wolves will off people, but everything will be okay. That's not how this game works, unless this game is some freaky variant in the range of Survivor. If that's the case, then blame me later :P But there are two ways to wind wolves in these games. One is via roles - seers, witnesses, sometimes BGs. This is always a risky approach, because those people can die, or in the case of this game be severely limited by the nature of the maze. The other is to see how people act during votes. And your darn right I'm gonna try to get someone lynched - at this point, I don't really care who. Go ahead and lynch me, even, but at least I'm trying to do something.

This isn't the first time I've been rah-rah lynch, either - with the very narrow exception of Day 1 in Spawn I think it should be all lynches, all the time, because that's how you figure out who is on your side. Having wolves in the maze isn't going to make it easier to get to the center, and I have confidence in our abilities to make progress by breaking some eggs early - not that we're particularly early anymore.

The worst case we could find ourselves in is to realize we're buried in a hole two days from now and be right back where we are right now. I think we're much better off lynching a couple of people now, figuring out what's going on, and then having the capacity to stop later if need be, as opposed to not lynching now, realizing we needed to be, and then not being able to do anything about it later.

Tyrith 08-07-2008 01:10 PM

There's absolutely no reason we can't go lynch-no lynch instead of the opposite if it turns out some measure of no lynches is the right play. If nothing else we ought to get seven votes on someone to see if 50% will get a lynch so we can protect ourselves from wolf screwjobs later.

I can keep this schedule over the weekend but it seems like most of the big games recently have had no play on weekends to accomodate people, so unless everyone is around, we'll have one long phase from Fri at 10 to Mon at 3.

The Jackal 08-07-2008 01:15 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong:

Barkeep49 2 - Telle (851), Tyrith (896)
Tyrith 1 - claphamsa (820)
Abe Sargent 1 - Lathum (845)

path12 08-07-2008 01:28 PM

I think we absolutely need to at least find out what is needed vote-wise for a lynch. I'll be voting for someone.

path12 08-07-2008 01:28 PM

Washington Courthouse is a cool city name, but if I were going to get married in Ohio, it'd have to be at Cedar Point. Unless I could get married in the middle of Ohio Stadium wearing all my Michigan gear -- that'd be cool too.

Telle 08-07-2008 02:28 PM

I'm in the "lynching is a good idea" camp. I'll switch to Abe if that's where people want to go.. at this point we have so little to go on it doesn't really matter who we lynch.

Quiet, and commenting on Lathum D1, I suppose. And the fact that Lathum already put a vote on him, so we might can actually get him lynched. Getting eight votes seems to be our primary problem.

Well, I thought this post was when someone PM'ed (an Ancient/Wolf) Jackal to implant this inferno device inside of me (that's how he said I died):

There was a great INFERNO! You all would've liked it. Beautiful."

"Aha, you'll notice the inferno device. Go ahead and ignore that."

Mccollins is dead! He was the Phoenix!

However, he said I was randomly selected by the Jester.

The only thing I had seen in the labyrinth thus far was something cool in front of me after my last movement. Though that would be unrelated to the inferno due to the timing of the events.

I'm in a different spot now.

PurdueBrad 08-07-2008 03:02 PM

Wow...just caught up. Welcome back Mccollins. Do we think a possible conversion or too obvious? As for a vote tonight, I guess I'm starting to see Pass' line of thinking. We're racing to the middle and the more people we have attempting to get there, the better off we are as opposed to a bad lynch. I was also thinking that if we had a particularly bad day (a death in the labyrinth, minotaur gets someone, a bad lynch, and a wolf kill) that we could potentially lose four people in one day. Maybe avoiding a bad lynch isn't the end of the world. Plus, it sounds like we can clear each other by seeing each other in the maze.

My hunch is that he had to choose three names, and do something with it -- maybe instert them into the lyrics of a song? And which names he chose affect what his foe is somehow?

Alright, we have friends over on Thursday nights and I'm not sure I'll be back online before 10 pm. I'm placing my vote now even though I have a feeling enough people are going to spread the vote out or directly vote No Lynch.

Vote Abe Sargent

I think when all is said and done, people will ask us, "couldn't you guys tell RendeR was going insane?" And the best answer we'll be able to come up with will be, "Well, we just thought he was acting in a strange way due to some WereWolf game mechanic."

Abe just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We've got four or five of us (including myself) that have similar post numbers. It seems like we're just picking names out of the air........

On the other hand, it's not like information has been pouring forth so far either.

Even though I want to find out the lynch rules I don't know that it's worth just randomly knocking someone off. This game really has me off-balance on how to play, because there's no evidence to aggressively go after anyone with.

Indeed. And that's it for the raptors. Just Claph, Abe and me.

I'm sure I am. I can't speak for Abe or Clap.

Now there's a good question.

If the three self-professed raptors vote together I'll go where they go. We need a good voting block to make a lynch happen tonight.

Just to clarify...you mean that VOTING for Abe doesn't make a lot of sense, not that Abe himself doesn't make a lot of sense. Right?

Yes. Abe makes lots of sense. Usually.

Well, Clap is the only one who's voted, and that vote was for Tyrith. But Abe's got the most votes. And I really want to see what happens with a lynch. So now I'm torn. Vote with my fellow raptors, or vote for who has the most votes and vote for a fellow raptor?

Abe, who do you plan to vote for?

Not at all? I mean, the fact that you guys are linked by being the same creature doesn't necessarily mean that they're also good -- is that what you're saying?
