Then this game is broken, and we should give up now.

Obviously not, it makes far more sense that he MUST move around the Labyrinth.

PackerFanatic 08-06-2008 11:18 AM

Plus - we don't know that the minotaur just sits there. He/she is one of us - so they can move around just like we can, I would imagine.

RendeR 08-06-2008 11:18 AM

You're being really argumentative today, have you not had your Coffee?

I think the Minotaur would get bored and bloodthirsty and start looking around for something to kill.

That seems like a cheesy game mechanic. Can he move from the center to one spot out, then back in again? What makes more sense to me is that he has a different win condition that makes him WANT to move around.

Actually, I haven't had coffee today -- I did the last two days, and try not to have it too often. It just seems like people are implying what I said earlier, that the minotaur can just sit there in the center and kill everyone (although, the rules just say a "strong chance" we die immediately). I don't think I'm being more argumentative than anyone else, though -- for God's sake, I was accused of being a Dinosaur Alchemist, then told there was no such thing! :p

So your reveal was a load of crap.

Just playing catch up here, and perhaps others will say this later, but this is flawed logic. I've seen many roles among non humans, and non-humanoids.

That sounds logical - maybe the minotaur only wins if he kills all of his Ancient/wolf masters and no commoners escape the labyrinth? That way, if we assume the Ancients won't look for him then the minotaur has to look for them.

I dunno, I'm just making some logical guesses. That'd be a pretty hard win condition for that person though.

Maybe. Like I said earlier, my guess is that he has a different victory condition. And personally, since only wolves can kill him, that probably means he wants to help us in a way (when he's not killing us).

I dunno about killing the wolves -- that seems to leave a lot of his win condition to chance (whatever the chance is that he kills a wolf if he comes across it).

What does it mean to escape the labyrinth? RendeR mentioned something about that, too.

I didn't notice in the rules, but it would make sense to me that we could either find some sort of object or one of us has the ability to fight/kill the minotaur.

I agree with this
the minotaur must need move
for some reason, K?

Yesterday the Minotaur moved.

Cause the Gm told us he did

What does it mean to escape the labyrinth? RendeR mentioned something about that, too.

1) Yeah, that's why I kind of gave up with my guesses there :/

2) From the rules:
Quote:

If a commoner finds the center of the labyrinth, the game ends and the commoners win.
Only one has to find the center and then we all win. It doesn't work like an 'escape hatch' or anything.

PackerFanatic 08-06-2008 11:31 AM

Haha - and Abe silences the crowd!

I don't see where the GM told us the Minotaur moved.

This is at 1:06PM yesterday. Perhaps it's when the player-minotaur PM'ed their move request.

Yeah, it just hit me, too, that we might be talking mid-day, not end of day.

Abe Sargent 08-06-2008 11:35 AM

I guess we see how many people read the GM's posts around here.

I wrote an email
to my boss as a haiku
I had to rewrite

Passacaglia 08-06-2008 11:37 AM

So I guess that means he didn't move at 10PM? He could have had some other action that he could perform then instead of moving.

PackerFanatic 08-06-2008 11:37 AM

Or it's not always announced like that.

PurdueBrad 08-06-2008 11:38 AM

Hey guys, I'm back but I'll be bouncing on and off some. Thanks for the good wishes, I'm hoping this medication goes better. For all of them, the first dose did wonders, it was the second two weeks later that crushed me so in two weeks when I take the next, I'll know. Was nervous going in though.

Abe Sargent 08-06-2008 11:39 AM

Feel better PB

mccollins 08-06-2008 11:40 AM

Yeah, there's some dramatic flair on that one and it was the first movement of the game (well, at least our 3pm move yesterday was our first).

Abe Sargent 08-06-2008 11:40 AM

I first learned about Crohn's about six years ago when David Garrard was diagnosed with it. Now I know a lot about it because I've read all of those articles that talk about it. Wish you well my friend, wish you well.

TY Abe. I'm actually doing pretty well now but they want to get me off of the steroids that have stabilized me (been on for about a year and a half and it has done wonders for turning my figure into the shape of a pear!). As for Garrard, it's silly but I always have carried him on my fantasy team because of it.

DaddyTorgo 08-06-2008 12:02 PM

meh - i have to figure out a move - hmmm

ntndeacon 08-06-2008 12:04 PM

I wonder if though the minotaur can obviously move, that if he will stay in proximity to the center. I would guess that he would lose if the commoners win. kinda like a 3rd team of one maybe.

Yeah, I'm looking at it as though we're facing two separate teams of wolves. The problem is that we can't kill one of them but maybe a wolf will stumble on him for us. Although if I were a wolf, I would consider not moving, cherry pick through night kills and let the minotaur get us in the labyrinth.

claphamsa 08-06-2008 12:41 PM

wow, no one says boo
while im at my staff meeting
good for catching up

Passacaglia 08-06-2008 12:43 PM

I said boo when people voted for me, but I just didn't type it out.

The Jackal 08-06-2008 12:52 PM

The Jester's voice booms over you, as if on a megaphone:

"Attention please. Anyone that thinks they can just sit around and drink a martini - I'll kill you."

He doesn't laugh this time, and the voice fades out.

PurdueBrad 08-06-2008 12:55 PM

Nobody told me we could order drinks!

claphamsa 08-06-2008 12:56 PM

Yeah, no shit. BK
Ill take a margarita
none of that gross salt

Me neither. I'm glad I didn't order one, though -- I would have wanted to sit and drink it.

Tyrith 08-06-2008 01:01 PM

Well, I think that makes it pretty clear we need to go lynching.

mccollins 08-06-2008 01:02 PM

I'm patiently waiting for the 3pm physical moves before continuing to contemplate any game moves (like voting).

I thought it had to do with moving around the Labyrinth.

Ah, perhaps a hint/reminder to send in physical move requests.
