I took it more along the lines of sitting around in the thread, just not doing anything and letting the movement game play itself out -- however, it seems the other explanation makes more sense. It just didn't occur to me that people wouldn't be moving already -- it is how we're going to win the game, after all.

its ok tyrith nap
well wake you up when something
exciting happens

I agree with this analysis 100% and was going to post it myself.

Tyrith 08-06-2008 01:18 PM

He only wants to help us to the extent that it helps himself, though. We're not quite at the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The minotaur is just something we have to accept and move on from - nothing we can do about, unless someone has a cow tagging along with them :P

Barkeep49 08-06-2008 01:25 PM

To follow up on the minotaur angle. My rough guess is that the minotaur needs to find one of the places (or perhaps a specific one) where we entered, so he can exit.

To go back to the whole Pass debate. I certainly believe him human, but certainly know what kind of creature I am from my message. Is this unusual?

RendeR 08-06-2008 01:28 PM

I know precisely what I am BK, so that agrees with your mesage as far as I can see.

RendeR 08-06-2008 01:28 PM

Be back in a couple hours.

claphamsa 08-06-2008 01:29 PM

It's probably just that I wasn't told what kind of creature I was because human is default. And maybe Farrah was right -- only humans can be alchemists, so it went without saying that being the Alchemist meant I was human. Being a Dinosaur Alchemist would have been hot, though.

claphamsa 08-06-2008 01:32 PM

am i the sole one
who cant move this afternoon?
it sucks, beer not close.

I'm a human Pass and am a profession as well. Both are crystal clear to me.

I'm the opposite of you. Moving is all I can do, since my powers were stripped.

And my spelling is impeccable.

Barkeep49 08-06-2008 01:37 PM

And I'm harping on it casue it is exactly the sort of silly detail that trips up a wolf. I'm hoping some other person is willing to claim that they can only infer that they're human (or dinosaur, or whatever).

My message was pretty clear also.

I kept picturing a T-Rex with little arms that can't reach anything....with this big lab full of chemicals and experiments....

I think I need food.

Fair enough. If you're going to get into the nitty-gritty of PMs, that's fine. I looked again -- no mention of what kind of creature I am, human or otherwise. There's mention of my name, which might imply that I'm human, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. I'm not sure why it matters, though, since the rules say I can be human or anything else. I get where you're coming from, that maybe I should have been told I was human -- instead I was just told that I was the Alchemist.

claphamsa 08-06-2008 01:42 PM

I'm the opposite of you, too. I just ate this huge greasy meal, and I'm all bloated.

DaddyTorgo 08-06-2008 01:44 PM

curious thought for a game with crazy mechanics:

if people didn't start together than is there a value in everyone revealing roles/powers so that we don't lynch a valuable role? because the ancients or the minotaur would have to stumble across us - or do we think the odds of them stumbling across multiple people on one day and having a choice of who to kill outweighs any gain from that?

I don't know if you've read any of the Jane Yolen dinosaur series to your kid (kids?) but that's the image I have of Pass. Makes me laugh and I'm neither hungry nor bloated.

I think the odds definitely increase as the game goes on that we'll run into others. I'd prefer my abilities to be unknown by those that might harm me.

claphamsa 08-06-2008 01:47 PM

haiku is very hard
when you all have long odd names
shorter names for all

I think you should try limmericks. I always enjoyed writing limmericks more than any other set style of poetry.

Passacaglia 08-06-2008 01:50 PM

I want to see a haiku with Passacaligula in it. :P

claphamsa 08-06-2008 01:52 PM

pass that is the deal
passacaligula is
too many sylables

claphamsa 08-06-2008 02:15 PM

Does that mean the haiku is done. Because I'm considering changing my vote.

claphamsa 08-06-2008 02:33 PM

I will continue haiku
it is too much fun

DaddyTorgo 08-06-2008 02:43 PM

Yup. Maybe the actions will have something for someone? Nothing for me.

Same.

RendeR 08-06-2008 02:49 PM

Pass-a-cag-li-a is only 5 syllables.

mccollins 08-06-2008 02:51 PM

Just another movement for me.

At this point, I'm inclined to give Pass another day and I don't think RendeR is a wolf. Thus, I'll go back to my earlier suggestion about UTR folks.

VOTE ntndeacon

ntndeacon 08-06-2008 02:51 PM

yea all I get are choices where to move for next time. got passages in all 4 directions.

and since I am pretty sure Deacon is not a wolf. I suggest we look at another target.

mccollins 08-06-2008 02:54 PM

Nice to have you rejoin us ;)

I see Lathum is back in the thread too. Penny for your thoughts?

The Jackal 08-06-2008 02:55 PM

All movements should be out.

RendeR 08-06-2008 02:59 PM

"Look straight in the boardroom, A Modern pharoah's tomb...
I'd gladly swap places, if they'd care to dive.
They're lined up at the window, staring down into limbo...
They're frightened of jumping, in case they survive!
I wish I could step, from this scaffold, on to sot green pastures, shopping malls, and been, with my family, or my pastor and my granfather whose dead......"

mccollins 08-06-2008 03:03 PM

If Google can't find it, did it really exist?

you would be wasting your money, I got nothing.

My vote on Abe is based solely on his vote yesterday.

mccollins 08-06-2008 03:05 PM

Well, at least there are people around now.

DaddyTorgo 08-06-2008 03:06 PM

i ran into a wall that appears to not be solid. i'm going to touch it.

mccollins 08-06-2008 03:06 PM

Jackal, when we move, do we always move one "space" or multiple spaces up to the next intersection?

I seem to always have the choice to move in any of the 4 directions (besides the time the door shut me inside).
