Werewolf CLXVI - The Drenai Saga (GAME OVER - VILLAGE WINS!)
This game will be based on the world created by David Gemmell and his books known as the Drenai Saga. There will be some mild spoilers just in terms of flavor and what kind of characters there are, but I'll also be taking liberties to fit the game mechanics.
It will be a fairly straightforward game although I'm still fleshing it out. More info as I have time to put it together at work! We can try to aim for a Monday (3/9) start, depending on interest. RULES One Deadline - 10PM EST No editing of posts No lynch is not an option No posting after deadline until results have been announced. Votes at 10:00 will count, votes at 10:01 will not. The result of a tie is unknown Post your votes and unvotes in bold, like this: vote jackal unvote jackal The village wins when all wolves have been eliminated. The wolves win when they have reached even odds with the village (and Druss must be dead). |
Possible Roles (some may not be included):
Druss, the Legend - Bodyguard (can protect one person each night from attack), but will fail trying to protect Rowena. Village cannot lose at even numbers if he is alive. Cannot be night killed. Rowena - Seer (can scan one person each night to see if they are good or evil). If she scans Druss they will gain PM abilities, but not if he has revealed himself prior to the scan in thread. Sieben, the Saga Master - Duke (one time ability to change the lynch vote) Dardalion - If Druss dies, gains a one-time bodyguard action. If Rowena dies, gains a one-time seer action. Can only get one of these, from whomever dies first. Bison - Has a one-time bodyguard action. If it is successful, gets a second. Two is the max. --- Snaga - Gains brutal if Druss dies. The Old Woman - Cunning (will scan as good if viewed by the seer). If Nosta Khan dies first, gains his ability to kill Druss when known, but cannot scan for him. Nosta Khan - Can scan for Druss. Once Druss is known, has a way of killing him. Entukku - Once per game can initiate a double lynch, where the winning vote getter and a random vote getter from that day both get lynched. --- Waylander the Slayer - Has the ability for a one-time kill that will work on anyone. Counts as a villager in the numbers. |

First in!
|
I'll have to observe this one.. I'll be out of town Weds-Sun that week.
|
IN!
|
I'll join, do I need to know much about that book?
|
Quote:
Nope. It's a series of ten books that I'm just going to be pulling characters from that fit with traditional WW roles. With a few twists here and there. |
Why do I have a feeling Jackal is going to Bull Moose Special me on day one. :)
|
Try first minute... how crazy awesome would that be :)
|
Write me up.
|
Sure, let's keep it rolling.
|
Why not. In.
|
I will play. I think a rather vanilla WW game is best though to help with some of our newer players.

It will be fairly vanilla. Standard roles, explanation of abilities, just lynches every day. |
I did some checking and apparently there is wi-fi in the casino we are staying at near lake winnipeg.
I wouldn't be able to contribute at all during the day while we are ice fishing, I'm not going to pay for international data rates, but I could get online in the morning/evening. I'll leave this up to Jackal, if you need another player put me in, if not I'll just sit this one out. |
Ice fishing sounds fun. We'll see how signups go!

No, no it doesn't... NO MORE ICE!!!! ;) |
that fish is to small. we wouldn't be going up there every year if it wasn't for the huge ass walleyes. generally anyone that is even remotely interested in fishing will pull a 7-9 lb walleye out of the ice. Some get lucky and land a huge one, but those are rare.
|
I had some ideas for Waylander and others that are more complex but I think I'll shelve them for this incarnation of the game. So it'll be clearly outlined - no conversions, no bull moose specials. Next time though..
|
based on actions in the last game shoveler may find himself down the hole instead of walleye coming up through... ;) And you're staying in a casino? For shame... (Yay for us though!).

We stay there simply because there is no other place that can hold all the people that are going on this trip. The only other large enough hotels would make our commute to the lake very long each day. It's not like I'm going up there to gamble. Hell you have to gamble with that funny money they use up there with the pictures of pirates on it. |

Glad to have you aboard as well |
I almost never miss a WW game, but will be gone for ten days during this one. Glad to see it filling up though, this is awesome.
|
I am still a new face at this, but it is pretty awesome that two more guys have signed up for their first game!
Renaissance! |
when are you looking to start Jackal?
|
Welcome to the new folks, great to get some more new blood in here.
|
I will join

Probably Monday, if that works for everyone! |
I'd like to play, but these are pretty time intensive, so I'll need to sit one out to rest up my brain.
|
Raven, I remember thinking that after my first game, and I didn't play again for a few months. But I think I did the same thing you did, which is start out on a really complex, unusual game. A normal game doesn't require nearly as much headspace.

I'll second this. Most of what you typically have to keep up with is the way you feel about people's tone, role claims, vote history, and people's relationships within the group. It's not all that bad compared to the WW+RPG-type games like the one we're just finishing up. |
Yeah, I can promise this one will be much less time-intensive. Just lynches, night kills, vote analysis, and figuring out who's lying, if anyone.
Anyone who's expecting to have choices every day or roles to fight for after EF's game might be disappointed if they end up as a "vanilla" villager. But those are often the most fun to play since you aren't being overly cautious as a wolf or mulling over who to protect/duke/scan/etc. |
Good luck on this!

agree, I have the most fun being vanilla. |
Ready to roll on my second game... I promise I won't hold a grudge based on the last one! :)
|
Not sure if Thomkal will have made a decision in the last game before this one starts.
