reasons stated above. If it is a showdown between dubb and I, so be it.

Your vote for Barkeep was the single oddest vote of the day so far and you have failed to explain it. You made the vote with no explanation and when called on it by two people said you thought it was obvious why you cast the vote. You were wrong.

PurdueBrad 04-20-2009 09:46 AM

I have no problem with that, it must be obvious because it was in my head. And I'll take any vote for it, just don't be surprised when I throw one back on you. I never said your vote for me was a bad one, I just hit with an equal retaliation vote, which you seem to be racking up today.

Ha, nothin' like a good ol' fashioned "We're both the same role!" showdown.

What's with all the post editin' in that thread!?!

jeheinz72 04-20-2009 09:50 AM

So dubb, are you just a wild firin' villager here? I think there's a 4-year-old in the freezer section that you haven't voted for yet. :)

I'm actually thinking of switching *off* of you, since I think you're just stirring things, but let's start focusing here a bit.

Danny 04-20-2009 09:55 AM

Looks like

saldana -- 0
Danny -- 0
jeheinz72 -- 0
Barkeep49 -- 0
dubb93 -- 3 jeheinz72 (19) saldana (60), PurdueBrad (149)
The Jackal -- 1 Poli (25)
Poli -- 2 The Jackal (26) Barkeep49 (41)
DaddyTorgo -- 1 claphamsa (120)
PurdueBrad 1 Dubb (147)

Yet to vote DT and Danny

Well if it means anything I've tossed out three votes so far and it seems the PB one has stuck.

dubb93 04-20-2009 09:57 AM

And this thread was sorely lacking activity, I don't apologize for what I have done today. Someone needed to do it.

PurdueBrad 04-20-2009 09:59 AM

Heinz, I kind of agree with you that a wolf may not play this over the top. I think the confusion helps the wolves keep things unclear but maybe you're right.

How many unvotes and votes you cast so far today compared to me?

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:05 AM

Danny not casting a vote yet is odd too. He has had all the time is the world to cast a vote. He was here last night and today. He even acknowledged he hasn't cast a vote. What the hell is he waiting on?

I like to see what develops. I have a much better idea where I'll be heading with my vote now than I did last night. And that will probably become more clear as we see what actions take place before deadline. Would you rather me switch my vote three times? :p

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:08 AM

And just like that Danny enters the thread.

 Danny wasn't here when I started typing that. When I posted it I looked at the bottom and there was Danny.

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:31 AM

Those that are on me Heinz and Sal I urge you to move off me and vote PB.

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:31 AM

I REALLY think I caught a wolf here.

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:32 AM

Sometimes when you fish in enough spots you get a good bite. I think I landed this one.

I'm going to need more than what you've presented me with here. What's your "case" against PB? That he didn't substantiate his vote onto BK?

jeheinz72 04-20-2009 10:38 AM

Also, why only urge Sal and I to switch? Shouldn't you be asking all non-PB voters to switch?

Yes. And then he attempted to throw suspecion back on me basing it on the fact that I have voted for three people today......he has too! He just has given me a bad feeling. The way he reacted to me calling him on BK and voting me him was unlike anyone else I have voted today.

I would urge anyone who wants to vote for PB to vote for him but I kinda got a real vested interest in you two switching off me. I was giving you my top suspect as a way to get off me.

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:42 AM

I'll eat my foot if PB isn't bad.

While my vote is leaning towards one of you, I would consider voting just to potentially see that.

The Jackal 04-20-2009 10:44 AM

Just got back and caught up, I don't know if I've seen so much vote movement on day 1. Gotta process it, still have a few hours.. the rate it's going we'll have completely different candidates.

Interesting reasoning on PB - I certainly have no qualms about switching since my Poli vote was merely a return fire, but I'd like to hear from PB first.

jeheinz72 04-20-2009 10:44 AM

Seriously, the foot thing may be the best reason yet I've read for jumping. :)

I'm staying put for now. I see no problem with a you v PB showdown. I think with the amount of switching and general nefarity you two have done, you two are a good shot at a wolf/villager pair.

The Jackal 04-20-2009 10:46 AM

I wonder if there's any cannibalism going on in Athens.

claphamsa 04-20-2009 10:47 AM

self canibalism as well....

This argument completely backfires here if DT is a wolf but I think we're better off crossing him off for now, and looking for the two wolves in the other eight spots. I think DT not showing yet could be a benefit.

We have no reason to believe he checked in to discover his role or not. We've seen this nonparticipation argument used before and the person turned out to be a wolf. we've seen this nonparticipation argument used before and the person turned out to be a villager. Doing anything that encourages nonparticipation is bad, in my opinion, for the game, both on an individual level, and more broadly speaking.

Danny 04-20-2009 10:53 AM

They only drink wine and write poetry in Athens.

dubb93 04-20-2009 10:53 AM

Don't let me down Barkeep!

Danny 04-20-2009 10:57 AM

Alright, well I'm going to start getting ready to go. I'll be back on for a little while before leaving and am going to try to be back on before deadline, but it will be close.

I am going to Vote PurdueBrad for now.

Danny 04-20-2009 10:59 AM

I'm open to voting DT, but I think I've decided not to vote Dubb. I just don't see wolf from him after just playing a game with him as a wolf.

Whatever direction we decide to go, we really need to narrow the vote down though.

By not voting PB and letting me get lynched.

dubb93 04-20-2009 11:09 AM

Seems I have to go. Will be back after deadline. Let's lynch this wolf.

PurdueBrad 04-20-2009 11:17 AM

here, I'll make it much easier for you. If you're really looking for reasons to vote me, I'm one of the two marathon runners. Only problem is...I'm the good one. But hey, follow dubb and lynch a good guy.

Look, I think there is a wolf in this duo and it's certainly not me.

PurdueBrad 04-20-2009 11:18 AM

BK, that gives you all the reason in the world to vote for me now, same with the rest of you, and hide behind the fact that "Hey, it was 50-50." But I'm guaranteeing you, up and down, that I am the good marathon runner.

jeheinz72 04-20-2009 11:20 AM

Hrm.

saldana 04-20-2009 11:27 AM

if nothing else, dubb is very good at stirring the pot and making people confused, but alot of the time when he does that, he trips people into making mistakes

that said, I have also seen dubb convince himself of something and refuse to be swayed by any argument, and in the end be totally wrong...although that is a fault of every person that has played this game at some time or another.

at this point in the game, i am inclined to go with him on the PB thing...i was as thrown as he was when that vote dropped out of no where, and as much as PB would like to imagine his reasoning was obvious, I still dont really understand it a page later.

As for Daddy Torgo, I think someone else mentioned this earlier, but isnt he notorious for not have access to the board until later in the day on Mondays? I seem to remember lynching him at least once and after the day was over he showed up and quoted his own post from very early in the thread where he said he doesnt have a way to get on the board until he gets to work.

anyway, for as many of my own reasons as for Dubbs

unvote dubb93
vote purduebrad

saldana 04-20-2009 11:52 AM

interesting that things have gone quiet in the wake of the "reveal" by PB.

i am not really sure what to make of it...if he is telling the truth, that may actually be the best choice for us, as was pointed out before...we have a 50% chance of driving a wolf out of town, and assuming at some point the Athens runner shows up here, and we then lynch him, anyone in Sparta at the time will know who to kill in Hades should they be sent there.

i am pretty happy with my vote right now

claphamsa 04-20-2009 11:57 AM

Im still confused by this... If we find out someone is a wolf when we lynch them.... how would they not just get killed very soon in hades?

I'm on the fence. 50/50 is indeed a great shot, but things just aren't sitting well with me on the whole mess. Seems like a two-person-tango here.
