WW XCII Sparta -- Claimed by Villagers
This is the thread for everyone in Sparta.

Sparta
------ Barkeep49/ntndeacon Danny dubb93 |
Well, I think we can all agree that Sparta is the place to be.
|
THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!
|
Do we get a pit to kick people into? :)
FYI I'll be in and out tomorrow as I'm traveling to Philly for game 3, hopefully I'll be in a delightfully drunken mood after the game and want to post some. |
Quote:
I look forward to this. |
I don't need to read anymore. I think I know where I'm going with this vote to start.
Vote Saldana |
Alright, so I just clicked the Athens thread for the first time, but clicked out before seeing anything. I need to be careful about checking stuff late at night.
|
I AM SPARTACUS.
|
Wait, I don't know if saying something that is a good or bad thing yet. Please note: The previous post is a joke.
|
In the grand tradition of smacking players down who had a really great last game:
Vote Danny |
Yo yo Spartans. Checkin in. Of course I'm hungover, haven't read the rules and don't know what the heck is goin on. So yeah, probably a quiet day for me today.
If any wolves want to just go ahead and raise their hand in an effort to make this easier on me, I'd appreciate it. |

a quiet heinze must be a wolf! also BK stole my Danny vote...

Vote dubb
I don't know the backstory on his vote for saldana, but no matter what it is, with sal making a return it could be a wolf using it as a plausible place to hide. |
Do we want to discuss our votes for the Epoch?
|
Quote:
I dont always vote for you! I just always think your a wolf! I always vote for Danny :P |
Quote:
I say no... why give the wolves any more knowledge than they need? Also then they might direct it to one of them.... |
I will gladly put out a second vote on the guy with a great last game.
vote Danny |
Now off to read the rules again just to make sure I've got it all.
|
Vote The Jackal
First come, first serve. |
Vote Poli
I see your serve and raise you a vote. And now it's time to go get hammered, I'll be back after the game sometime. |

I don't think it could hurt. I think that unless we come to a solid candidate and vote together the wolves could very easily have an advantage in the Epoch voting. At very best they will vote for each other assuming there are only two of them if there are three then one will have two votes and another one before the villagers votes even start counting. I think if we come to a candidate we have a much better shot of giving that roll to a villager than if we just vote for whoever in the hell we want. |
Thanks jeheinz. I'll have two votes when Sal gets in here. It's what me n him do.

I'll bite. What about Clap? |

A pat on the back used to be the in thing! |

I agree, I think discussing the Ephor helps us and hurts the wolves. It's possible we steer the vote towards a wolf, but it's much better than then letting the wolves manipulate the vote to whoever they want. |
there is most likely only 2 of them.... how can they benefit?
|
Quote:
If all 10 of us just randomly vote without talking about it, the wolves have their votes to collaborate and help make sure one of them gets the Ephor. If we talk about it, we decide, not the wolves. Of course we might end up electing a wolf, but at least it puts the power in our hands. |
I'm all for collaborating on an ephor vote, though we're running out of time.
THE FLYERS WON |
<------ Pens fan, grrrr
|
My two choices for Ephor would be PB and Danny (despite my vote against him).
|
Declare War
Just because that sounds cool to do. I know it cedes to the wolves, but those bastages in Athens deserve to die. |
I'll vote danny for ephor.
|
Quote:
Unvote Danny Vote Poli |
Shurg. I'll go to Hades. Sounds like a good time.
|
My choices are Claph or Danny for Ephor. While I appreciate BK's support, I don't quite get the whole ruleset yet (it's my fault, I still haven't given it 100% of my attention but will tomorrow) so I'm not a good Ephor pick.
|
It said Ephor votes are due day 1, but is that by deadline day 1 or do we need to have our votes in by the morning?
|
Quote:
Deadline. |
Athens is on their third page and we're still stuck on page 1!
|
Quote:
I don't quite agree with this. I think if we cede one city it makes the flow of people into Hades easier to control and a more likely win for the village. Instead of two unconfirmed people going into Hades each day you would cut that down to one that could easily be voted out each day. However if we did declare war it would be throwing all of our eggs into the Athens basket. |
I'll bite on that one too Poli.
Vote Declare War Vote me out and I'll have my revenge in Hades. |
I think Athens is the place to be anyway. As Danny said, 3 pages to our 1. We suck.
|
I do think it would be funny if we both declared war and just swapped cities.
|
Hi Danny.
|
Quote:
I think the wolves would win if both cities declared war. I do see the argument for making it a one city game as that does mean Hades should be pretty easy to win. But I'm not sure Hades won't be something that is pretty winnable anyway, even with the two cities. |
Can I vote for a player and vote declare war?

Hello, trying to get some homework done. I work for a minute, read the forums for four. I hate this paper I'm working on. I need four details summaries of research articles on reading interventions, an outline of California reading initiative, how the articles fit into that initiative, their implications for instruction and then how it is impacted by IDEA federal code. |
Quote:
Hmm, I'm not sure about this. I would think you could only do one. |
I guess I'll wait for Pass to come in and tell me which one of my votes are valid or if both are then.
|
One article read and summarized down, three more and a bunch of other stuff to go!
|
Heck yeah, 15 pages later, I am done!!! Now I am going to do a quick 3 page paper before heading to bed for a couple hours and waking up to go videotape a counseling session. And yes, I am sharing with you guys because it's 3 in the morning, I'm excited that my most difficult paper left is done and I'm not going to wake my wife up :).
|
I'm off to work/the casino. Sometimes life can be grand.

Quote:
7 posts...it took you 7 posts...i am SOOOOOO disappointed in you :D vote dubb93 |
Quote:
Yes. You MUST vote for a player (or no lynch) but declaring war is an optional and independent vote from that. |
Quote:
I declare war! Not really, but this just reminded me of the episode of the office where Michael thinks he declares bankruptcy just by saying it. |
Quote:
To be fair I have outstanding votes for you in both the game signup thread and the FOFC roll call thread. |
I'm not sure I see the merit in going to war at this point but I'm listening.
I fully intended to contribute more yesterday evening but apparently I just passed out sitting up in bed with the computer on my lap. Mm, alcohol. |
You probably can no longer have kids after the laptop sat there all night.
|
Thankfully I woke up at midnight and put the computer on the floor.
What time is the deadline? I'm heading to the train in an hour. |
2 PM Central, I believe.
I think this war idea is a VERY bad idea as essentially we will be making it a traditional game of WW. Right now I think the wolves task is harder than normal. I don't think we should mess that up. I have sent my PM to Pass with my vote for Danny. Finally, assuming we do keep a 2 city structure, I will be voting for the Marathon runner automatically, as there's a 50/50 chance of them being a wolf. |
I am not going to push for it but I actually think war may not be the worst idea. We get double the roles (and yes, double the wolves) but that means we have two seers scanning simultaneously which, while this becomes a big game of werewolf we would be at the advantage I believe with double roles.
|
There are 19 players, 9 and 10 per city.
With 9 players, I would assume 2 wolves (3 feels very high) With 10 players, I would assume 2 wolves as well. IF we go to one massive city, we have 19 players, 4 wolves (about standard) BUT we have double every other role. That's a pretty big advantage on our side IMHO. |
Nevermind the above, just caught the part about the roles having evil counterparts. No war for me.
Hmmm, that was a waste of time and one of my few remaining brain cells. |
Quote:
Doesn't quite worth that way, per the rules, while both seers are villagers, one is evil and wins with the wolves. Also, one BG is a wolf and one marathon runner is a wolf. |
Hehe, Danny, why weren't you in my head ten minutes ago when I thought of all that garbage!
|
Quote:
I was busy using the head! Really though, I've checked the rules about five times myself as I keep forgetting things. |
Quote:
BK, I agree with you, the 50/50 shot makes it worth it. It would be a disappointment to hit the wrong runner BUT we won't know anyway because the runner flees and we get no info, but at least we would remove them. If Athens does the same, they should be killed immediately upon their appearance because of that 50-50 shot. |
My vote when for Claphamsa

*went, not when

A question regarding being elected Elphor since I am up for discussion. Whoever is elected, do you think it is beneficial to reveal that they were elected or not, or is it best for the top candidates to stay silent about the result?
|
Quote:
Silent |
No sense in pooling our brains to come up with candidates and then have him out himself to the wolves. That wouldn't make any sense at all.
|
I didn't want to possibly tip my hand afterwards, so wanted to clear this up beforehand.
|
Back online. I'd agree about being silent. I'll have to re-read about the war thing, I'll admit I just kinda glossed over that.
As far as an ephor vote, well, I'm certainly not voting for clap. |
Quote:
Is this because you think I'm a wolf? I'm not a wolf. |
Quote:
No, not at all. Clap tends to just hounddog me in games, as evidenced by his vote on me. I'm just not of the ilk that I'd like to vote him to have the Duke power. :D First game back in a long time and well, I'd prefer it if I didn't die due to the STD that is the clap. |

How about a vote count? This look right to you guys?
Quote:
|
Looks right. Those votes are awfully spread out. I don't remember, what is the result of a tie?
|
Players without votes are DT and I. I don't think DT has even checked into the thread yet.
|
Quote:
Forgot to mention them -- they're in the rules now. |
Question for ya Heinz and how you answer this question determines if I move my vote or not. Why does Claps vote for you not strike you as odd after your comeback, however, my vote for Saldana strikes you as a possible wolf hiding his vote?
I've been voting for Saldana since before it was cool to vote for Saldana. |
Ok, so in the case of a tie, all the top vote getters get lynched. This is a tie mechanic I have not seen before. Has anybody experienced this before. It almost seems like a tie might favor the village by making the lynch to night kill 2:1 ratio.

Testing my vote spreadsheet, with numbers added:

Quote:
Eh....I think the longer the game goes on the more it favors the village. I could be wrong tho. If we do a 2 for 1 this mini game here will last 2 days if we are wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, 3 days if we get one right at some point. |
That is unless there are 3 wolves. In that case even if we get one right it is game over after two days if we go that route.
|
Quote:
That's true. What it does do I think is in the event we do mess the lynches up, it puts hades in control of the village. I'm on very little sleep from doing homework, but it seems either way it could have a positive effect on hades. I'm still not sure though. |
