Another Sports Wagering Dynasty:

Got $220 in my account (after the $100/$100 matching from Bodog), played a little poker, got it up to $230,, and decided to take a whack at the sports book:

Did a two team teaser straight moneyline to start, to get familiar with it:

Chelsea FC -275 [email protected]:00a (@ Middlesborough)
Manchester United -200 [email protected]:15p (@ Portsmouth)

Wagering $10 to win $10.15 ($20.15 If I win)

SirFozzie 02-11-2006 11:26 AM

Ouch, well that one died quickly, Boro 3-0 over Chelsea, a huge upset.

SirFozzie 02-11-2006 02:16 PM

Won a $5+0.50 tourney at Bodog, so I have an extra $25 to play with:

Bets for today/tommorrow:

Clemson +11 @ BC (-115) [email protected]:00p
Risk $10.00 to win $8.70

BC is a team that plays to the opposition's level, they won by 9 at Clemson earlier, , but I think it's gonna be closer then 11 this time.

(761) Nebraska vs. (762) Texas Over 128 [email protected]:00p
Risk $10.00 to win $9.09

I think this is a steal. Texas is a huge favorite, but thinking the teams will average 64 each? Good deal.

2 Team Parlay
Spain Primera Division (Game)
Spanish La Liga
(8906) Real Madrid -130 [email protected]:00p
Spain Primera Division (Game)
Spanish La Liga
(8920) Barcelona +135 [email protected]:00p
Risk $10.00 to win $31.58

Real and Barcelona are good bets to win, and I'm getting good odds here.

SirFozzie 02-11-2006 04:57 PM

Well, hit the first half of my parlay (Real Madrid winning 2-0 in injury time). Also just hit my Over in the Nebraska/Texas game.. heading into the night up $9.09, risking $10 on Clemson (+11) to win $8.70, and if Barcelona does well tommorrow, then that's $32 :D

Should have listened to you about that Nebraska vs. Texas O/U

SirFozzie 02-11-2006 05:06 PM

Yeah, I have a theory about large point spreads and fairly low O/U.. unless one team just has a killer defense, if you believe that one team is that much better, youthink they're going to get their fair share of points.

So when looking at a 128 O/U and Texas favored by 20, that means you're expecting 74-54.. and I thought both teams could beat that # easily.

Neuqua 02-11-2006 05:18 PM

I followed you on the Texas O/U as well.

You made up for me following you on all the soccer games last night :(

SirFozzie 02-11-2006 05:20 PM

bah.. I couldn't believe Chelsea bombed the way they did today.

but hope you followed me on the Barca/Real play.. that's got a sweet payout/

SirFozzie 02-11-2006 08:57 PM

Looks like Clemson's gonna cover (Trailing BC 59-57 with 2 minutes to go). So I'll win on this set of wagers no matter what happens with Barca tommorrow.. of course, that's the big one

Other then putting down money on the US team for the world cup, I've never bet a soccer game. I follow soccer and really enjoy it, but I still haven't gotten a read on how to bet an individual game. I think, I might get into it this year now that Houston is getting an MLS team.
