1845 Season Thread
Ok, let's do this spring training thing.
Here's another reminder of this week's schedule: Quote:
|

Ok, so your file is up. We'll sim the 1st half tomorrow night. Good luck!
|
Will start the 1st half sim in 15 minutes
|
Or maybe more. Ok, really starting now.
|
STANDINGS AS OF MAY 1, 1845
NL ---- Chicago 29-8 Carolina 25-12 Brooklyn 19-18 Shizuoka 18-20 Kyoto 16-22 Milwaukee 10-29 AL ----- Syracuse 24-15 Memphis 22-15 Philadelphia 22-16 Los Angeles 17-20 New York 13-25 San Diego 11-26 |
STANDINGS AS OF JUNE 1, 1845
AL ------- Memphis 42-23 Los Angeles 38-27 Syracuse 38-28 Philadelphia 34-32 New York 26-39 San Diego 23-42 NL ---- Chicago 44-20 Carolina 42-22 Shizuoka 31-35 Brooklyn 30-34 Kyoto 28-37 Milwaukee 15-52 |
Looks like New York will be offering a discount firesale at mid-season. So if your team is on the bubble or you want to try to get back in for the 2nd half...let's talk.
|
STANDINGS AS OF JUNE 23, 1845
NL ---- Chicago 53-31 Carolina 53-31 Brooklyn 42-42 Shizouka 40-45 Kyoto 35-50 Milwaukee 21-65 AL ----- Memphis 53-31 Syracuse 49-37 Los Angeles 47-37 Philadelphia 43-42 New York 39-36 San Diego 33-51 |
Good to see that logjam in the AL. Meanwhile in the NL, Chicago and Carolina duke it out. Good to see Brooklyn hanging nearby..
|
No updated file?
Still uploading it? |
Ok, file is up. Tomorrow we'll do the draft and Thursday we'll do the 2nd half. Remember that New York would happily deal you some talent so you can win provided you wanna part with some prospects. I guess it's time to give up and rebuild sadly.
|
Lord, Logan Becker may be about to celebrate his 39th birthday, but he's having a season for the ages. Through 35 games, 26 saves, 0.28 ERA, 1 ER, a 51/5 K/BB, a 0.74 WHIP, and a .181 average against. A high BABIP (.352) means he's probably been getting a little unlucky, too.
Memphis' other ageless wonder keeps putting into doubt whether he'll ever retire. The oldest man in the league, Ted Conley, is still hitting .293/.358/.395 with 13 SB/6 HR so far. Not what he was a couple of years ago, but still an above average bat for a 41 year old. |
alot of "unknowns"
|
Jesse Zeman 2 years 1.5 million each
|
It just occurred to me that Los Angeles is within striking range of the AL Wild Card so far. Their payroll is just $8m.

I just fixed their names and will send up a file with the fix. |
Ok so I'll run the draft in a while, I drive to Denver and just got here so need to get settled.
|
Draft done. File is up, we'll sim the second half tomorrow.
|
I guess theres no more midseason free agency.
Also, I can't believe I got Chris Ross in the draft. How was he not the first pick? |
SECOND HALF TIME
|
Quote:
There is mid-season free agency. Your commissioner just wasn't at home and completely forgot about it. He apologizes. I will put the guy on your roster for you right now. If you have instructions, send them to me. I believe he must've fallen to you because Milwaukee has been on auto-pilot for about a season and a half now. |
Syracuse designated CF Cesar Espinoza as their FRANCHISE player. He becomes the first player to be franchised.

FINAL REGULAR SEASON STANDINGS, 1845
Code:
Nationwide League Standings |
Carolina and Chicago meet for the 2nd straight year in the NLCS, while Syracuse and Memphis meet in the ALCS for the 3rd time in 4 years.
|
Ok, file is up. Post-season tomorrow night provided that's kosher for everyone in the postseason.
|
Exported and ready to go. Hopefully I have enough to put my team over the edge this year.
|
Triple crown for Chowen. Nice.
321 strikeouts for Foster. And 20 wins again. Can we upset Carolina two years running in the post season? A few adjustments may help. Export is in. |
Is there a sim where we can execute team options on player contracts? The one after the WS maybe?
|
Yeah, that's always when I get that option.
|
Yeah that's the sole purpose of the post-WS sim, actually. Well and last minute extension offer.
|
Ok, so all of the playoff exports are in. So we'll run at some point in a next hour or so.
|
NLCS GAME 1
Carolina 3, Chicago 2 (10 innings) Armando Cuarenta hit a triple in the bottom of the tenth that scored Thurman Driscoll to give the Kings a 1-0 series lead. ALCS GAME 1 Memphis 2, Syracuse 1 |
ALCS GAME 2
Carolina 3, Chicago 2 (CAR leads series 2-0) NLCS GAME 2 Memphis 7, Syracuse 2 (MEM leads series 2-0) |
NLCS GAME 3

ALCS GAME 4
Syracuse 9, Memphis 4 (MEM leads series 3-1) NLCS GAME 4 Carolina 4, Chicago 1 (CAR leads series 3-1) |
NLCS GAME 5
Carolina 4, Chicago 0 (CAR wins series 4-1) ALCS GAME 5 Syracuse 5, Memphis 4 (MEM leads series 3-2) Despite 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th, the Stars held off the Smokers to get within 1 game |
Congrats on the Kings winning their first EVER NATIONWIDE LEAGUE PENNANT
|
ALCS GAME SIX
Syracuse 8, Memphis 3 Harry Mitchell went 8 1/3 innings striking out 8 to give the Stars their series tying victory and will now force a Game 7 |
ALCS GAME 7
The improbable comeback story of the Stars might be one for the books. Down 3-0 in the Series to the two-time defending AL champion Memphis Smokers, they need another miracle if they wanted to get back to the Sunset Series for the 2nd time in 4 years. 1st inning: 1-1 4th inning: 4-1 Syracuse After 7 innings: 4-2 Syracuse After 8 innings: 5-2 Syracuse FINAL SCORE: 5-4 Syracuse, Memphis put up 2 more in the bottom of the 9th but couldn't get more. Nelson Remedios struck out six in 7 1/3rd innings to get the win. |
I won't post the Sunset Series results. I'll just upload the file and let you all know when it's up so you can see it play out for yourselves at your leisure.
|
NLCS MVP: Juan Moran, Carolina
ALCS MVP: Ray Rocchigiani, Syracuse |
Award Winners:
AL MVH: Cesar Espinoza NL MVH: Steven Chowen AL POY: Jonathan Redick, Syracuse NL POY: Gerald Massey, Brooklyn AL ROY: Taikan Hatsutori, Philadelphia NL ROY: Phi Reece, Milwaukee |
For next week's schedule...I'm going to be on the road specifically Thursday and Friday. I should have access to either of my machines so I can run stages via my iPad, but if there are delays that I'm not able to post for some odd reason (highly unlikely ones like lack of internet, etc.) then just know I haven't abandoned you...it's just logistical.

Ok file is up. Have a great weekend and congrats to our champ!
|
Well Chicago's bats were impotent in the post season.
Wait 'til next year! Congratulations to Division mate Carolina in showing me the exit and to Syracuse in wining it all. Second title for Syracuse, having previously won it in 1842. |
