FOFC Racing - Sprint Cup Series - Season 4 - Race #5 Richmond Posted
Welcome to Season 4 of the FOFC Sprint Cup Racing Series. If you would like to sign-up, head on over to our sign-up thread. We now have sign-ups ongoing for our Truck Series as the Sprint Cup Series is currently full. If you already have drivers in the Cup series but want more, sign-up for the Truck Series. New drivers to the series will have to first enter the Truck Series and earn their way to the Cup series. Camping World Truck Series Thread FOFC Racing Sign-Up Thread PLAYOFF FORMAT After 10 "regular season" races, the top 10 drivers, as determined by points accumulated during the season, automatically advance to contend for the Sprint Cup championship. These drivers are joined by two "wild card" qualifiers, specifically the two drivers ranked from 11th through 37th in drivers' points who have the most regular-season race wins. The 12 drivers' championship points are reset to a base of 1,000 per driver. Each of the 10 automatic qualifiers receives a bonus of 3 points for each win during the regular season, while the two wild card qualifiers receive no bonus. Every driver then will receive a bonus for their final position after 10 races. Wild card qualifiers receive no bonus. 1st - 20 bonus points 2nd - 18 bonus points 3rd - 16 bonus points 4th - 14 bonus points 5th - 12 bonus points 6th - 10 bonus points 7th - 8 bonus points 8th - 6 bonus points 9th - 4 bonus points 10th - 2 bonus points Normal scoring applies during the Chase, with race winners earning 43 base points plus 3 bonus points, all drivers who lead a lap earning 1 bonus point, and the driver who leads the most laps earning 1 bonus point in addition to any other points earned. PROMOTION/RELEGATION If any driver from the truck series whose owner only has one driver in the Cup Series is eligible to be promoted to the Cup series if they finish in the top 5 of the truck point standings. Only one driver for each owner will be eligible this season even if two finish in the top 5. Any driver that finishes in the bottom 5 of the Cup Series standings will be at risk for demotion. This season, however, we will only allow demotion of drivers whose owner has two cars in the series. If a driver finishes in the bottom 5 but only has one car in the Cup Series they will not be eligible for demotion. Also, if you have a Truck driver and he finishes in the top 5 of the truck standings, he is eligible to replace one of your Sprint Cup drivers if you wish. For future reference, past champions of the Cup Series will automatically be exempt from any demotions. SCORING SYSTEM |

Daytona will be run Monday.

Race #1 - Daytona 500
Another beautiful day for FOFC Racing. Season 4 kicks off with a beautiful 80 degree sunny day for the FOFC Sprint Cup drivers at Daytona. Jace Hunter picked up the pole for today's race. The big story coming into the event was whether or not Comrade Twelve could make it 3 in a row at Daytona. He had a solid car but was never much of a factor as he led 2 laps and finished 17th.
The strongest cars of the day belonged to Rob Nielsen and Wheely McStephens. Nielsen led the most laps with 50, McStephens led 30 but Nielsen's car was stuck on the outside on the final laps and finished 12th. McStephens came into the final lap running in 3rd place behind Indy Wahl who took the white flag as the leader and Al Cohallik. McStephens was able to make the pass on both of them making it three wide coming out of turn 2 and then held off Red Neckanback to get his first career victory. |

Nice, done a lot better than last season here!
Also, are these with the New stats I submitted or did I send them in to late? was busy and slipped my mind until this morning while watching Minecraft on Youtube. |
A top 10 in Daytona for the rook! Awesome!
Awesome! A 2nd and some laps led . Great start to the season.
Terrible start for Schaplowsky. I'm starting to think Daytona isn't his specialty, I think some stat changes are in order for next season.

I was able to get the new stats in before the race. |

Nice!
I didn't check this until today! DD Racing starting strong! |
Race #2 - Chicagoland
For most of the race it looked like Patrick Hutt was on the way to his 6th career FOFC victory. But a mistake on the final pit stop of the day put him back in the field and he ended up with a 13th place finish despite leading 151 laps. Hawk Grey was the one who took advantage of the mistake and he led the race's final 47 laps and held off a strong challenge from Rob Nielsen to take the victory.
Wheely McStephens is the early points leader as the only driver with top ten finishes in both races.
Dexter follows up a 23rd at Daytona with a 34th at Chicago. Not a great to the season for the 6 team.
I'll Gladly Take that 17th with 1 Lap Led to take 8th in Points! New PB High in Points, Old was 14th at the End of Last Season.
Also Higher then 2 of 3 Past Champions. |
Not a promising start for Topper.
Race #3 - Martinsville
Bo Duke has sure proven himself to be one of the top short track drivers on the circuit and today he showed that once again. Duke led a total of 72 laps, none more important though the final 10. With 10 laps left he passed rookie Homer Simpson for the lead and drove away with the victory, his 5th career win which ties him with Patrick Hutt for the most all-time. Cannon Pace was 2nd, Simpson 3rd, Indy Wahl 4th and Luke Duke finished 5th after leading the most laps with 195.
The race featured 20 caution flags and 14 drivers failed to finish. |
Standings after race #3 of 15
Indy Wahl holds the points lead after 3 races. In 2nd is Avery Thomas only 1 point back. Rob Nielsen, Hawk Grey and Wheely McStephens round out the top 5.
Booyah! Rough first couple of races, but Bo is back in the top 10, while Luke gets out of the cellar. I need to remember to adjust my stats for next year. Our team is a little lopsided.
Well, Looks like the Bad Luck from Last season Caught up, 1st DNF of the season that Dropped me from 8th to 24th in Points, Hopefully I can Recover from it before the Chase!
Chilton needs to move up a little more and that way we can have two cars from DD Racing in the Chase!
We will be back in action today with the Brickyard 400.
Race #4 - Brickyard 400
What a terrific show we had today. Bo Duke and Chuck Long had a back and forth duel for much of the last half of the race as they traded the lead numerous times. Heading into the final lap Chuck Long had the lead but Bo Duke was able to make the pass in turn 1 and held off Long to take his 2nd straight victory.
Standings after race #4
Bo Duke takes the points lead with two wins in four races.
Bandit Racing looking strong in the early going once again...sigh.
Arrest those duke boys for violating their parole!
Alright! Great race for Dixieland! This season is already starting off better than last! Back to back with the win at Indy.
Race #5 - Richmond
Bo Duke is dominating the FOFC Sprint Cup Series. There really isn't more to say about it. Bo led 228 of the 400 laps at Richmond to win his 3rd consecutive race. We've never quite seen anything like this in the series yet. Patrick Hutt finished 2nd, Red Neckanback 3rd, Indy Wahl 4th and Jace Hunter 5th.
Numerous drivers were seen near the officials office after the race. The rumblings were getting much louder that the Duke boys are doing something illegal to the cars. We'll have to see what the officials find out. |
Bo Duke, with his 3 straight wins is the points leader. He has a playoff spot locked up.
I miss the highlight videos! I kind of want to see all these DNFs. :)

They'll be returning soon. |
Indy Wahl having the season of his life!
If we're doing something illegal Luke is fucking it up royally. He is the master of the DNF this season. Quite the comeback for Bo after that crazy season last year. We're not worried. We been dealing with the law for a considerable amount of time. ;)
Definitely something illegal going down at Dixieland Racing. I think they're just trying to cover it up by having Luke not finish well.
Dexter picked up a top ten finally, time to get going on the season. |
Been having some computer problems again and haven't been able to get the game to play. Hopefully will have it fixed soon.
fingers crossed
I think I'll be able to get everything up and running again after the holiday.
No luck yet. Going to try and install everything on a different computer tomorrow and maybe we can still salvage this. I'd like to see how many Bo Duke can win in a row.
has the CPR for the computer and data panned out?
Any Updates?
