Neuheisel Fired By Washington
 

Rick Neuheisel's tenure as Washington's football coach is over. Neuheisel told Seattle's KING-TV on Wednesday that he has been fired. Neuheisel has been under scrutiny for possibly breaking NCAA rules by participating in a gambling pool.

Definitely a good long-term move for Washington. This guy has either openly had a shitload of problems following NCAA rules, or there have been rumours always flying. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Best to can him now before a more serious rules violation occurs and screws the whole school.

In any other case, this may not have been enough to get him fired, but I believe they've wanted to clense the program of him and needed a reason. In the long run, this will be a good move for Washington. They'll get good head coach, maybe the interim coach works out. If not, that will be the premier opening at the end of the season. A top 25 program full of top 25 talent.
