I thought this article was a hoot! Watch out for Rutgers, y'all (alumni, Class of '02) :D.

Watch out for Rutgers indeed.

Although I enjoyed the two articles they had on their silly super-conferences, I was actually hoping ESPN would take a more serious long-term look at the conferences. Everyone knows we're probably on the brink of a chain reaction of events... I want some insight as to what the next event(s) will be.

Thats great:D

Louisville in the king football conference?

I think Forde (from Louisville) is out of his league there.

MylesKnight 07-01-2003 10:24 PM

I agree, Forde does seem to have a bit of a bias there..

Anyway, if we're talking about dream Conferences, if you were Kentucky or Louisville, wouldn't you want to be involved with the current ACC Schools? I mean a Hoops Conference with UK, UL, Duke, UNC & Maryland among others.. WOW!

In Forde's Conference the UK/UL Football Game would definitely mean something though... Avoiding the cellar in that particular Division. :D

Oh, and PS: GO RUTGERS! You know I think I've figured this one out.. The reason RU is bad is simple.. It's the name. I mean think of the name New Jersey, who do we have there? The Nets and the Devils. A NBA Finalist and a Stanley Cup Champion.. It's all about the name.. Forget the Rutgers (where did that originate from anyway), how about the New Jersey Scarlet Knights? Fix the name and I see this team challenging Miami and Virginia Tech for the Big East BCS Bid next season. ;)

Rutgers name came from the man who left money after his death to found theUniversity : Colonel Rutgers You can't beat history... That was in 1830-1831 !

Linky : Rutgers History

Colonel Rutgers was a descendant of Rutger Van Schoenderwoerdt, who settled in New
York in the 17th century. The family name was changed to Rutgers in 1636

lol, good link. Rutgers is just sand bagging for a couple decades and then will catch everyone sleeping. :D

My homeboy Henry Rutgers hooked us up. It used to be the super-masculine Queens College before becoming Rutgers U.
