Anyone train shooting? To take advantage of both the scoring and set pieces training?

And I mean, do you focus on this as opposed to scoring training

I can't speak for anyone in the FOFC, but Shooting appears to be a very unpopular form of training. Only 2% of the Hattrick population is currently training 'Shooting,' while 14% are training 'Scoring.'

Well, I know you get less of an increase in both, but if you could get both of them to move up it would make that forward just a bit more dangerous

The set pieces training is pretty minimal (hence the double parentheses), and scoring training (presumably at 50%) for all of your outfielders is probably a waste of time for most, since forwards are the only position where the scoring skill makes any difference.

I guess if you really wanted to be radical in your training, you could carry a team of 20 forward trainees with passable shooting and then sell them off in 2 years for a metric assload of cash. That said, you'd lose a lot unless you went looking for 17yo pass scoring/pass defending players to play defense, etc.

I'm curious how a "metric assload of cash" differs from your typical, run-of-the-mill "assload of cash." :D

I believe metric assloads of cash are just easier to calculate

I always assumed they came in 10's or some such european nonsense.

Easier for who? Plus I always have problems converting metric assloads into the American standard of shitloads.

While it's nice that you do train both scoring and set piece and having high abilities in both would make your forward more dangerous from both set piece situation and possibility of long shot event, in my opinion, you end up wasting a lot more time since set piece training turns up improvements fairly quickly. Additionally, as DK said, forwards are the only ones whose scoring skill is taken into account so having your midfielder with solid scoring is wasted. Where that becomes a burden is when their salary is re-calculated and you're paying for the solid scoring/passable set piece skills on a wingback's salary that doesn't come into play except in penalty kick situation.

Admittedly, your team should kick major behind if you end up in a penalty situation, though.
