Houston Rockets new logo
 

After months of anticipation, it was finally released...



I'm rather disappointed with it. It just seems pretty bland. I guess I'll reserve final judgment until I see how they incorporate it into the new jerseys, but I'm not that happy right now.

Of course, just about anything is better than the pajamas that they've been wearing for the past six years...

I think it's a pretty nice looking logo.

it kinof works the H and the R together. I like it. It's like the new jersey devils logo in a way.

I don't like it either, Jeebs.. :(

That's what they had to keep top secret?

I hope no one stumbles open their plan to sign Sam Bowie out of retirement.

Looks like the same consulting firm that came up with the new Nuggets look has been putting in some hours in Houston.

What was wrong with this oldie but goodie...

Why'd they ever get rid of the Orange and Red? At least that had character...

I hate almost all oldschool uniforms....

Red and gold actually. Red and gold....

Sigh, how I miss those uni's of old.

Not a very creative or artistic logo.

I'll say it, because somebody has to:

"Houston... We have a problem."

I hate all new logos, just because the idea of changing them just to get a short-term boost in merchandising rubs me the wrong way.

That said, this one isn't bad. They didn't get too fancy. It passes the test of being simple enough that a kid can draw it on his pencil case.

Remember, when you go for fancy and complicated, you end up with the Phoenix Coyotes. Not good.

It's better than what they've had lately, but I miss the red and gold too. Still have my Olajuwon red and gold jersey in the closet. They used to be my favorite team. Not sure if I stopped watching them when Olajuwon left, or when they switched unis a couple years before. Probably a little of both.

Are they planning to sign Sarah Michelle Geller? Anyone else reminded of Buffy when they see that logo?

Now this is what they really needed to make their logo...

The new Rockets logo reminds me a little of the Van Halen logo.

I miss the Mustard/Red logo: I have a Hakeem (Akeem) jersey with that one. Then again, we all know the reason the Rockets stopped winning titles is because they switched jerseys to the current one that no one ever really warmed up to. Or at least, that's what those of us in Houston believe.

Maybe they're trying to appeal to Red China ;)

I dunno- it's not great but it's not ugly like most teams. It's pretty neutral. It won't make them much cash, tho- it's not bold, it's just there.

That is the most accurate description of the new logo to me. And like every other Rockets logo, it sucks.

Not too shabby.

Actually, when I first looked at it, it reminded me of something kinda Satanic. :confused:
