PGA Championship

Is anyone gonna be in Rochester for the PGA Championship this weekend. I attended a practice round yesterday and it was amazing. I am probably going on Friday too, but I want to be home on the weekend to catch it on the tube.

Anyone recognize this guy?

Dola, can you still buy tickets for championship rounds this year?

Isn't that Mark O'Meara?

The tourney is sold out, but you can "find" tickets around. It has been pretty popular here with crowds in the 25-35 thousand range for the practice rounds! This was my first chance to see the professional men play and I was impressed. I have been to the local LPGA event yearly and this just blows that away.

BTW, the course looks pretty difficult with 4-8 inch rough and fairways that are about as wide as a matchstick!

There is a misprint on the tourney website, right? Is anyone watching this and can confirm something for me?

The website has Aaron Baddely in the lead at -5, having birdied the par 4 2nd hole, and shot an ace on the 570 yard par 5 4th hole. Nice shot Aaron, but methinks a typo.

I figured so much. I was just curious, as the daily tickets for next year's tourney have been sold out for a while (I have 2 weekly passes). There were also over 8000 volunteer applications sent in!

I went to the '98 U.S. Women's Open (the Jenny Chausiriporn / Se Ri Pak epic) at Blackwolf Run and the '99 PGA Club Pro Championship at Whistling Straits, but next year's PGA will be the first time I'll see the big boys play. Hey, the first (and likely only) time I played Whistling Straits, I made three birdies! We'll see how many pros do better. ;)
