Well Guys, I'm Finished... It's Been Great at FOFC. (Terrible News)

Unfortunately my wife and I are splitting up after 5+ Years together and over 4 Years of Marriage. She wants this and I don't. Apparently over time I've slowly but surely screwed things up beyond repair. You know, the little things that slowly build up over time. I hope none of you have to ever experience the kind of heartache I currently am dealing with as I am about to lose the true love of my life and what I thought was my soulmate.

In saying all of this, I've decided that the best thing for me to do is get away.. Get away from the area I live.. Get away from everything that associates me with my wife and my normal, day to day life.. Just basically get away from it all. Where exactly that is, I don't know.

I just don't know how to deal with this and I just don't think I can if my soon to be ex-wife is nearby. (There isn't a absolutely devastated and heartbroken smilie available, but if it was, it would be inserted right now).

This also means my long running association with FOFC is over as well. I just feel as if an entire change of pretty much every faction of my life is needed at this point as I try to cope with what has happened. I know not posting at this site any longer pales in comparison to what is going on in my life right now but I just wanted to make it public in case anyone out there ever wondered what happened to me (ala, HFP).

Right now I'm scared and shocked and afraid and confused and devastated and many other terrible things that I just wish would go away. Hopefully they will in time..

I never thought my final post at FOFC would contain the phrase "My Wife and I are Splitting Up", but I guess in life it is really true that nothing is guaranteed.

Take care my friends and God Bless.

Signing Off for the Last Time,

MYLES

GrantDawg 08-16-2003 10:49 AM

I'm so sorry to hear this, MK. We are here when you need us.

3ric 08-16-2003 11:02 AM

That's terrible news.
Take care, Myles. You will be missed.

Ben E Lou 08-16-2003 11:18 AM

Wow. That really stinks. I echo GrantDawg and 3ric. You'll be missed, and in my prayers.

FrogMan 08-16-2003 11:22 AM

I too echo what everybody has said so far, ouch and you'll be missed in here, and in the HT forum. Best of luck in whatever is up next for you.

horrible news man

as the others have said, take care and we'll miss you around here

vtbub 08-16-2003 11:36 AM

Hope that you figure out what you think you need to figure out. We all make mistakes, but nothing is 100% entirely at one persons fault.

We'll miss you here, and hopefuly you will comeback and we can debate whether college football needs a playoff again.

Best of luck to you.

Ron

FBPro 08-16-2003 11:38 AM

True, there are always issues on both sides. I'll echo the comments of others and say that I hope that things do workout, you really never know. Hang in there.

bbor 08-16-2003 11:39 AM

Chin up MK...Brighter days will soon catch up to you.

The Afoci 08-16-2003 12:01 PM

Don't blame yourself for this. I highly doubt it is all your fault unless you have been cheating for the last five years. But either way, good luck and stay strong. Things will get better.

Eaglesfan27 08-16-2003 12:27 PM

Even though, I am a relative new person to the community I will miss you too. Also, I would like you to consider that making drastic decisions after a major life change is often not a good idea. Obviously, leaving this board is not one of these drastic decisions, but changing everything in your life would be. I'd like to recommend that you consider taking a few days to think about everything before you change your entire lifestyle even though you are in a world of pain right now. Good luck.

korme 08-16-2003 12:39 PM

Take care Myles, you'll be missed buddy.

SirFozzie 08-16-2003 01:02 PM

Let me echo what Eagles said. Take a break, decide if you want to come back and talk. You'll always have a place to come talk, whether it be sports, movies, music, or whatever.

NoMyths 08-16-2003 01:04 PM

:(

Take care, Myles.

Kodos 08-16-2003 01:20 PM

Sorry to hear about this, and take care. Remember you always have friends at FOFC if you need someone to talk to.

thealmighty 08-16-2003 02:08 PM

Good Luck in whatever you decide and remember, the shit may have hit the fan but it will pass through, and fresh air will again blow your way. When it does, we will be here.

Please come back later on down the line.......miss ya already. :(

sabotai 08-16-2003 02:21 PM

Keep your head high MK. These things happen. About 25% of all people end up divorced. Those are hard odds to beat.

You seem like a decent fella, I'm sure you'll land on your feet.

T.C.M 08-16-2003 02:29 PM

The world will keep on spinning. I guarantee that.

You will be fine as long as you FORCE yourself to get out and live your life.

Not mush is worse then marriage problems. I know a lot of what you may have been going through for some time now Myles and i hope things look up for you. Listen to some depressing music and have a few beers if you drink, just keep yourself safe and sound and keep that head on straight and think things through. Best of luck!

Cringer 08-16-2003 02:39 PM

dola****

not MUCH.....mush is worse i think, but not MUCH is what i meant....:P

Neuqua 08-16-2003 02:52 PM

Keep your head up MK, I wish you the best of luck in wherever you go from here..

Senator 08-16-2003 04:01 PM

Dark days always come, and the real success in life, it seems to me, is getting through them while maintaining the humanity and goodness within you.

Esquared1 08-16-2003 04:17 PM

Please take care of yourself during this time. I wish you peace.

Nyarlahotep 08-16-2003 04:26 PM

Good luck MK, I'm gonna miss you and the FCC.

EagleFan 08-16-2003 04:33 PM

Good luck with everything. It might be good to step away for a bit, but think about that complete life change. Sometimes too much change can make things even tougher to deal with.

JonInMiddleGA 08-16-2003 05:07 PM

Fare thee well Myles. May you find peace for your troubles and happiness to replace them.

BishopMVP 08-16-2003 05:36 PM

Good Luck

GoldenEagle 08-16-2003 05:40 PM

What can I say MK....

I have enjoyed the debating of Memphis college football and the great chats over in the Hattrick chat room and the Hattrick mail exchange....

Good luck with your new life and keep your head up and I will be here thinking about you MylesKnight.

ISiddiqui 08-16-2003 06:24 PM

Take care, buddy. Good luck with your life, and hopefully you can get back on your feet relatively quickly. Who knows, maybe one day you'll return and it won't bother you that this was part of your old life.

sterlingice 08-16-2003 06:35 PM

Good luck as things will get better but it's hard to see that now.

We definately won't hold you to the "I'm not coming back" if you decide to come back. You'll be welcomed back with open arms. :D

TargetPractice6 08-16-2003 09:28 PM

I'll miss you in the hattrick chat man. I was looking forward to chatting with you about TCY again. Best of luck getting through these sad times, though.

44Niners 08-16-2003 09:33 PM

I truly believe these two things to be true:

Every time one door closes, another door opens

AND

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change

The courage to change the things I can

And the wisdom to know the difference

Good luck – and god bless.

TredWel 08-16-2003 10:01 PM

MK,

You're an excellent poster, and we'll miss you. I hope you come back soon.

In the meantime, good luck with future, and I hope it all gets pulled back together for ya.

Dutch 08-17-2003 12:52 AM

I'm sorry to hear this MK, but you will be just fine, just give it a while.

JeeberD 08-17-2003 01:26 AM

Sorry to hear about this. I'm sure everything will work out for the best in the future. We're all gonna miss you!

CamEdwards 08-17-2003 12:40 PM

Myles,

I'm very sorry to hear about this. I hope one day to see you here again... but more importantly, I hope you find what you're looking for.

WSUCougar 08-17-2003 01:06 PM

Myles,

Very sorry to hear this sad news. I can only imagine the devastation you're feeling right now, but please don't feel you have to suffer alone. You have a lot of friends at FOFC...we're here if you need us.

Take care, my friend. Hang in there.

Chris

Bad-example 08-17-2003 07:23 PM

Hang in there and come back if you are able.

Please read PSALM 46 Myles!

Franklinnoble 08-18-2003 10:12 AM

Bah. He'll be back.

He'll realize sooner or later that the no-good woman that just ripped his heart out would LOVE to know that he's basically trashed everything he enjoys on account of her. He'll get angry, then he'll get even. He'll come to this realization... lose 40 pounds... start dating some hottie that's 10 years her junior... and when he's had enough of that nubile poontang, he'll log on here and tell us all about it.

I guess what I'm trying to say, MK, is, give her an extra thrust for all of us here at FOFC. ;)

MizzouRah 08-18-2003 07:48 PM

I really don't know what to say. That's a terrible thought of my wife wanting a divorce, I don't know what I would do.

Try to look into that haze your in and keep your mind clear. We await your return and pray happiness returns to your life.

Well, first of all I'd like to truly thank everyone here at FOFC for their well-wishes way back when this thread was unfortunately began a number of months ago. That is from the heart guys, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

As for the situation, the biggest thing that I've learned through it all can be summed up in one brief but extremely important statement.. "Life does go on no matter what."

It certainly still is a daily battle in a lot of ways, but I've learned a lot about myself and life in general. All I can do is hope for the best and do what I can to make things the best for myself that I can possibly make them be.

I apologize if this post and thread for that matter being as self focused as it is, I certainly am a modest person and do not like to bring much attention to myself for the most part... I really just wanted to say THANK YOU! I know the majority of us will most certainly never actually meet one another in person but it is nice to have a place to come to discuss things with such a wide range of individuals and personalities. This truly is a great place.

Flasch186 02-12-2004 11:41 PM

god when i read the top part i was going to say, dont change you!!!! Only do whatever makes you happy!! now is the time ti be selfish!!

but it seems you stayed? yes, im glad since the FOFC is one of thsoe things that makes you happy you should cherish it. Not throw it away. Now is the time to add all the things you have the selfishly make you happy and grow out from there until sometime, you'll have space in there to not be selfish. That is what I say and Im so glad that you are you, whoever that may be.

ISiddiqui 02-12-2004 11:45 PM

It's good that you are doing better. You'll always have a place at the table here.

sabotai 02-12-2004 11:52 PM

You missed a LOT of stuff that happened around here MK. Things have changed a lot.

*looks around, thinks about it for a few seconds*

Things are pretty much the same.
